Colossians 3
1 Since, therefore, you were raised to life with the Christ, seek for the things that are above; for it is there that the Christ is seated at the right hand of God.
Če ste bili torej obujeni s Kristusom, iščite te stvari, ki so zgoraj, kjer Kristus sedi na Božji desnici.
2 Fix your thoughts on the things that are above, not on those that are on earth.
Naravnajte svojo naklonjenost na stvari zgoraj, ne na stvari na zemlji.
3 For you died, and your life now lies hidden, with the Christ, in God.
Kajti umrli ste in vaše življenje je s Kristusom skrito v Bogu.
4 When the Christ, who is our life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
Ko se bo prikazal Kristus, ki je naše življenje, tedaj se boste tudi vi prikazali z njim v slavi.
5 Therefore destroy all that is earthly in you – immorality, uncleanness, passions, evil desires, and that greed which is idolatry.
Mrtvite torej svoje ude, ki so na zemlji: prešuštvovanje, nečistost, nebrzdano strast, zlo poželjivost in pohlepnost, kar je malikovanje;
6 These are the things because of which the wrath of God comes,
kajti zaradi teh stvari prihaja Božji bes na otroke neposlušnosti;
7 and to which you, like others, once devoted your lives, when you lived for them.
v katerih ste tudi vi nekaj časa hodili, ko ste živeli v njih.
8 You, however, must now lay aside all such things – anger, passion, malice, slander, abuse.
Toda sedaj tudi vse to odložite: jezo, bes, zlobnost, bogokletje, umazan govor iz vaših ust.
9 Never lie to one another. Get rid of your old self and its habits,
Ne lažite drug drugemu, ker ste slekli starega človeka z njegovimi dejanji
10 and clothe yourselves with that new self, which, as it gains in knowledge, is being constantly renewed in resemblance to him who made it.
in si nadeli novega človeka, ki je obnovljen v spoznanju, po podobi njega, ki ga je ustvaril;
11 In that new life there is no distinction between Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all! – and in all!
kjer ni niti Grka, niti Juda, obreze, niti neobreze, tujca, Skita, sužnja, niti svobodnega, temveč je Kristus vse in v vseh.
12 Therefore, as God’s people, consecrated and dear to him, clothe yourselves with tenderness of heart, kindliness, humility, gentleness, forbearance;
Nadenite si torej, kot Božji izvoljenci, sveti in ljubljeni, čustva usmiljenja, prijaznost, ponižnost mišljenja, krotkost, potrpežljivost;
13 bearing with one another, and, when there is any ground for complaint, forgiving one another freely. As the Master freely forgave you, so you must forgive one another.
prizanašajte drug drugemu in odpuščajte drug drugemu, če ima katerikoli človek spor proti komurkoli. Torej kakor je Kristus odpustil vam, tako tudi vi počnite.
14 Over all these virtues put on love; for that is the belt which makes all complete.
In nad vsemi temi stvarmi si oblecite ljubezen, ki je vez popolnosti.
15 Let the peace that the Christ gives decide all doubts within your hearts; for you also were called to the enjoyment of peace as members of one body. And show yourselves thankful.
In Božji mir naj vlada v vaših srcih, h kateremu ste tudi poklicani v enem telesu; in bodite hvaležni.
16 Let the message of the Christ be alive in your minds in all its wealth, bringing all wisdom with it. Teach and admonish one another with psalms, and hymns, and sacred songs, full of the loving kindness of God, lifting your hearts in song to him.
Naj Kristusova beseda bogato prebiva v vas v vsej modrosti; drug drugega učite in opominjajte s psalmi in hvalnicami ter duhovnimi pesmimi in prepevajte Gospodu z milostjo v svojih srcih.
17 And, whatever you say or do, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus; and through him offer thanksgiving to God the father.
In karkoli delate v besedi ali dejanju, vse delajte v imenu Gospoda Jezusa in po njem dajajte zahvalo Bogu in Očetu.
18 Wives, submit to your husbands, as befits those who belong to the Lord.
Žene, podredite se svojim lastnim soprogom, kakor se to spodobi v Gospodu.
19 Husbands, love your wives, and never treat them harshly.
Soprogi, ljubíte svoje žene in ne bodite osorni proti njim.
20 Children, always obey your parents; for that is pleasant to see in those who belong to the Lord.
Otroci, ubogajte svoje starše v vseh stvareh, kajti to je zelo prijetno Gospodu.
21 Fathers, never irritate your children, otherwise they might become disheartened.
Očetje, ne provocirajte svojih otrok k jezi, da ne bi izgubili poguma.
22 Slaves, always obey your earthly masters, not only when their eyes are on you, as if you had but to please people alone, but giving them ungrudging service, in your respect for the Master.
Služabniki, v vseh stvareh ubogajte svoje gospodarje po mesu; ne z navidezno vdanostjo, kakor da bi raje ugajali ljudem; temveč v iskrenosti srca, boječ se Boga.
23 Whatever you do, do it with all your heart, as if working for the Master and not for people,
In karkoli delate, delajte to iz srca, kakor Gospodu in ne ljudem;
24 since you know that it is from the Master that you will receive the inheritance which will be your reward. You are serving Christ, the Master.
vedoč, da boste od Gospoda prejeli nagrado dediščine; kajti vi služite Gospodu Kristusu.
25 Those who do wrong will reap the wrong they have done; and there will be no partiality.
Toda kdor dela krivico, bo za krivico prejel, kar je storil; in ni oziranja na osebe.
