Psalms 85

1 For the leader. Of the Korahites, a psalm. Once, Lord, you did favour your land, granting change of fortune to Jacob,

Veisuunjohtajalle; koorahilaisten virsi. Herra, ennen sinä olit suosiollinen maallesi, sinä käänsit Jaakobin kohtalon.

2 forgiving the guilt of your people, pardoning all their sin, (Selah)

Sinä annoit anteeksi kansasi pahat teot ja peitit kaikki heidän syntinsä. (Sela)

3 withdrawing all your fury, turning from your hot anger.

Sinä panit kaiken kiivastuksesi pois ja lauhduit vihasi hehkusta.

4 Restore us, O God our saviour, put away your displeasure against us.

Käänny taas meidän puoleemme, sinä pelastuksemme Jumala, älä ole enää tuimistunut meihin.

5 Will you cherish your anger against us forever, prolonging your wrath to all generations?

Oletko ainiaaksi vihastunut meihin, pidätkö vihaa suvusta sukuun?

6 Will you not revive us again, that your people may be glad in you?

Etkö virvoita meitä eloon jälleen, että sinun kansasi iloitsisi sinussa?

7 Show us your kindness, O Lord, grant us your salvation.

Herra, suo meidän nähdä sinun armosi, anna apusi meille.

8 Let me hear what God the Lord will speak; for he will speak of peace to his people, to those who love him, and turn their hearts to him.

Minä tahdon kuulla, mitä Jumala, Herra, puhuu: hän puhuu rauhaa kansallensa, hurskaillensa; älkööt he kääntykö jälleen tyhmyyteen.

9 Soon those who fear him shall see how he saves, and glory shall live in our land.

Totisesti, hänen apunsa on lähellä niitä, jotka häntä pelkäävät, ja niin meidän maassamme kunnia asuu.

10 Kindness and loyalty meet; peace and righteousness kiss.

Armo ja totuus tapaavat toisensa täällä, vanhurskaus ja rauha antavat suuta toisillensa,

11 Loyalty springs from the earth; righteousness looks from the sky.

12 The Lord shall give all that is good, our land yielding its increase,

13 righteousness marching before him, and peace on the path he treads.
