< Psalms 125 >

1 A song of ascents. Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, that cannot be moved, but abides forever.
Canticum graduum. Qui confidunt in Domino, sicut mons Sion: non commovebitur in æternum, qui habitat
2 Round Jerusalem are the mountains, and the Lord is round his people from now and for evermore.
in Jerusalem. Montes in circuitu ejus; et Dominus in circuitu populi sui, ex hoc nunc et usque in sæculum.
3 For he will not suffer the sceptre of wrong to rest on the land allotted to the righteous; else the righteous might put forth their own hand to evil.
Quia non relinquet Dominus virgam peccatorum super sortem justorum: ut non extendant justi ad iniquitatem manus suas,
4 Do good, O Lord, to the good, and to the true-hearted.
benefac, Domine, bonis, et rectis corde.
5 But those who swerve into crooked ways will the Lord lead away with the workers of evil. Peace be upon Israel.
Declinantes autem in obligationes, adducet Dominus cum operantibus iniquitatem. Pax super Israël!
