1 Timothy 3

1 How true is this saying: “To aspire to be to be a supervisor in the church is to be ambitious for a noble task.”

யாராவது திருச்சபையின் மேற்பார்வையாளனாக இருக்க விரும்பினால், அவன் நல்ல பணியை விரும்புகிறான். அது உண்மையான நம்பத்தகுந்த வாக்கு.

2 The supervisor should be of blameless character; a faithful partner; living a temperate, discreet, and well-ordered life; hospitable, and a skilful teacher,

திருச்சபையின் மேற்பார்வையாளனாக இருக்கவேண்டியவன், குற்றம் காணப்படாதவனாகவும், ஒரு மனைவியை மட்டும் உடைய கணவனாகவும், சுயக்கட்டுப்பாடு உடையவனாகவும், எல்லாவற்றிலும் கட்டுப்பாடு உடையவனாகவும், மதிப்புக்குரியவனாகவும், உபசரிக்கும் பண்பு உடையவனாகவும், போதிக்கும் ஆற்றல் உடையவனாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

3 not addicted to drink or brawling, but of a forbearing and peaceable disposition, and not a lover of money;

அவன் மதுபான வெறிகொள்ளும் பழக்கம் இல்லாதவனாகவும், கலகக்காரனாக இல்லாமல், கனிவு உடையவனாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும். அவன் வாக்குவாதம் செய்யாதவனாகவும், பண ஆசை இல்லாதவனாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

4 they should provide for their own household well, and their children should kept under control and be well-behaved.

அவன் தனது சொந்த குடும்பத்தை நல்லமுறையில் நடத்தவேண்டும். அவனது பிள்ளைகள் அவனுக்கு மதிப்புக்கொடுத்து, கீழ்ப்படியும்படி பார்த்துக்கொள்ளவும் வேண்டும்.

5 If someone does not know how to provide for their own household, how can they take charge of the church of God?

தனது சொந்தக் குடும்பத்தைப் பராமரிப்பது எப்படியெனத் தெரியாதவன் இறைவனின் திருச்சபையை எப்படி பராமரிக்க முடியும்?

6 The supervisor should not be a recent convert, or they might become blinded by pride and fall under the same judgement as the devil.

அவன் ஒரு புதிதாக மனமாற்றம் அடைந்த விசுவாசியாய் இருக்கக்கூடாது. அப்படியிருந்தால், அவன் வீண்பெருமை அடைந்து, பிசாசு அடைந்த நியாயத்தீர்ப்புக்குள் விழக்கூடும்.

7 They should also be well spoken of by outsiders, so that they may not incur censure and so fall into the devil’s trap.

அவன் திருச்சபையைச் சேராதவர்கள் மத்தியிலும் நற்பெயர் பெற்றவனாயிருக்க வேண்டும். இல்லாவிட்டால் அவன் அவமானத்துக்குள்ளாகி, பிசாசின் கண்ணியில் விழுந்துபோக நேரிடலாம்.

8 So, too, assistants should be serious and straightforward, not given to taking much drink or to questionable money-making,

அதேபோல் திருச்சபையின் உதவி ஊழியரும் மதிப்புக்குரியவர்களாகவும், உண்மைத்தனம் உள்ளவர்களாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும். அவர்கள் மதுபானத்தால் வெறிகொள்கிறவர்களாகவோ, நீதியற்ற முறையில் இலாபத்தைத் தேடுகிறவர்களாகவோ இருக்கக்கூடாது.

9 but people who hold the deep truths of the faith and have a clear conscience.

அவர்கள் விசுவாசத்தின் ஆழமான இரகசியத்தை நல்ல மனசாட்சியுடன் பற்றிப்பிடித்துக் கொள்கிறவர்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

10 They should be tested first, and only appointed to their office if no objection is raised against them.

முதலாவது அவர்களை சோதித்துப் பார்க்கவேண்டும்; அதற்குப் பின்பு அவர்களுக்கெதிராக குற்றம் ஒன்றும் இல்லையானால், அவர்கள் உதவி ஊழியராகப் பணிசெய்யலாம்.

11 It should be the same with the women in this office. They should be serious, not gossips, sober, and trustworthy in all respects.

அதேபோல் அவர்களுடைய மனைவிகளும், மதிப்புக்குரிய பெண்களாய் இருக்கவேண்டும். அவர்கள் அவதூறு பேசுகிறவர்களாக இருக்காமல், எல்லாவற்றிலும் கட்டுப்பாடு உள்ளவர்களாகவும் நம்பத்தகுந்தவர்களாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

12 Assistants should be faithful partners who manage their children and their households well.

ஒரு திருச்சபையின் உதவி ஊழியன், ஒரு மனைவியை மட்டும் உடைய கணவனாக இருக்கவேண்டும்; அவன் தனது பிள்ளைகளையும், தனது குடும்பத்தையும் நல்லமுறையில் நடத்துகிறவனாகவும் இருக்கவேண்டும்.

13 Those who have filled that post with honour gain for themselves an honourable position, as well as great confidence through the faith that they place in Christ Jesus.

நல்லமுறையில் இந்த பணியைச் செய்கிறவர்கள் பிறரிடமிருந்து உயர் மதிப்பைப் பெறுவார்கள். கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவிலுள்ள தங்கள் விசுவாசத்தில் மிகுந்த உறுதியையும் பெற்றுக்கொள்வார்கள்.

14 I am writing this to you, though I hope that I will come to see you before long;

நான் விரைவில் உன்னிடம் வருவேன் என எதிர்பார்க்கிறேன். ஆனால், இந்த அறிவுறுத்தல்களை உனக்கு எழுதுகிறேன்.

15 but in case I should be delayed, I want you to know what your conduct ought to be in the household of God, which is the church of the living God – the pillar and stay of the truth.

ஏனெனில் நான் வரத்தாமதித்தாலும், இறைவனின் குடும்பத்தில் மக்கள் எப்படி நடந்துகொள்ள வேண்டும் என்று நீ அறிந்துகொள்ளும்படியே இதை எழுதுகிறேன்; இறைவனின் குடும்பமானது ஜீவனுள்ள இறைவனின் திருச்சபையாயிருக்கிறது. அதுவே சத்தியத்தைத் தாங்கும் தூணும், அஸ்திபாரமுமாயிருக்கிறது.

16 Yes, and undeniably wonderful are the deep truths of our religion; for – “He was revealed in our nature, pronounced righteous in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among the Gentiles, believed on in the world, taken up into glory.”

இறை பக்தியைக்குறித்த இரகசியம் மிகப்பெரியது என்பதில் எவ்வித சந்தேகமும் இல்லை: இறைவன் மாம்சத்தில் வெளிப்பட்டார். ஆவியானவரால் நிரூபிக்கப்பட்டார். இறைத்தூதர்களால் காணப்பட்டார். அவர் யூதரல்லாதவர்கள் மத்தியில் பிரசங்கிக்கப்பட்டார். அவர் உலகத்திலுள்ளவர்களால் விசுவாசிக்கப்பட்டார். அவர் மகிமையில் எடுத்துக்கொள்ளப்பட்டார்.
