Mark 15
1 And as soon as it was morning, the chief priests, having held a consultation with the elders and the scribes, and the whole council, bound Jesus, and carried him away, and delivered him up to Pilate.
Et dès le matin, les grands prêtres ayant tenu conseil avec les anciens et les scribes, et le sanhédrin tout entier, après avoir enchaîné Jésus, l'emmenèrent et le livrèrent à Pilate.
2 And Pilate asked him, Art thou the king of the Jews? And he answering saith to him, I am.
Et Pilate lui demanda: « Es-tu le roi des Juifs? » Et il lui répliqua: « C'est toi qui le dis. »
3 And the chief priests brought many charges against him.
Et les grands prêtres portaient contre lui de nombreuses accusations.
4 And Pilate asked him again, Dost thou make no answer? See what things they are testifying against thee!
Mais Pilate l'interrogeait de nouveau, en disant: « Est-ce que tu ne réponds pas? Vois de combien de choses ils t'accusent. »
5 But Jesus made no further answer; so that Pilate marveled.
Cependant Jésus ne répliqua plus rien, en sorte que Pilate était tout émerveillé.
6 Now at the feast he was wont to release to them one prisoner, whom they might ask.
Or il leur accordait lors d'une fête l'élargissement d'un prisonnier, celui qu'ils demandaient;
7 And there was one named Barabbas, who lay bound with insurgents who had committed murder in the insurrection.
or le nommé Barabbas se trouvait enchaîné avec les séditieux qui, dans la sédition, avaient commis un meurtre.
8 And the multitude, coming up, began to ask him to do as he had been wont to do for them.
Et la foule étant montée, commença à réclamer ce qu'il faisait ordinairement pour eux;
9 And Pilate answered them, saying, Will ye that I release to you the king of the Jews?
et Pilate leur répliqua: « Voulez-vous que je vous élargisse le roi des Juifs? »
10 For he knew that for envy the chief priests had delivered him up.
Car il savait que c'était par jalousie qu'ils l'avaient livré.
11 But the chief priests stirred up the multitude, that he should rather release to them Barabbas.
Mais les grands prêtres soulevèrent la foule, afin qu'il leur élargît plutôt Barabbas.
12 And Pilate answering again said to them, What then would ye have me do with him whom ye call the king of the Jews?
Or Pilate prenant de nouveau la parole leur disait: « Que ferai-je donc, dites-moi, du roi des Juifs? »
13 And they cried out again, Crucify him!
Et ils crièrent derechef: « Crucifie-le. »
14 Then Pilate said to them, Why, what evil hath he done? And they cried out the more, Crucify him!
Mais Pilate leur disait: « Eh! quel mal a-t-il fait? » Mais eux crièrent de plus belle: « Crucifie-le. »
15 And Pilate, wishing to satisfy the multitude, released to them Barabbas; and, when he had scourged Jesus, delivered him up to be crucified.
Or Pilate, voulant satisfaire la foule, leur, accorda l'élargissement de Barabbas, et livra Jésus après l'avoir fait flageller, afin qu'il fût crucifié.
16 And the soldiers led him away into the court, which is the Praetorium; and they call together the whole band.
Cependant les soldats l'emmenèrent dans l'intérieur de la cour (c'est le prétoire), et ils convoquent toute la cohorte.
17 And they clothe him with purple, and having platted a crown of thorns, they put it on him.
Et ils le revêtent de pourpre; et ils le ceignent, après l'avoir tressée, d'une couronne d'épines;
18 And they began to salute him: Hail, king of the Jews!
et ils se mirent à le saluer: « Salut, roi des Juifs; »
19 And they struck him on the head with a reed, and spit upon him, and kneeling down, did him homage.
et ils lui frappaient la tête avec un roseau, et ils crachaient sur lui, et se mettant à genoux ils l'adoraient.
20 And after they had made sport of him, they stripped him of the purple robe, and put his own garments on him. And they lead him out to crucify him.
Et lorsqu'ils l'eurent bafoué, ils le dépouillèrent de la pourpre et le revêtirent de ses vêtements.
21 And they compel one Simon a Cyrenaean, who was passing by, coming from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.
Et ils l'emmenèrent pour le crucifier; et ils mettent en réquisition, comme il passait, un certain Simon de Cyrène qui revenait des champs (le père d'Alexandre et de Rufus), afin qu'il portât sa croix,
22 And they bring him to the place Golgotha; which is, when interpreted, Place of a Skull.
Et ils le conduisent à l'endroit de Golgotha (qui signifie, étant traduit, endroit du crâne).
23 And they gave him wine mingled with myrrh; but he did not take it.
Et ils lui donnaient du vin parfumé, mais lui ne le prit pas.
24 And they crucify him, and divide his garments, casting lots for them, what each should take.
Et ils le crucifient, et ils partagent ses vêtements, en les tirant au sort pour savoir ce que chacun prendrait.
25 And it was the third hour when they crucified him.
Or c'était la troisième heure, et ils le crucifièrent;
26 And on the cross the inscription of the charge against him was written: “The king of the Jews.”
et l'inscription de sa sentence portait les mots: Le roi des Juifs.
27 And with him they crucify two robbers; one on his right hand, and one on his left.
Et avec lui ils crucifièrent deux brigands, un à sa droite et un à sa gauche. [
Et ce passage de l'Écriture a été accompli, qui dit: « Et il a été compté parmi les criminels » ]
29 And they that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads, and saying, Ha! thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it up in three days,
Et les passants l'injuriaient, en branlant la tête et en disant: « Ohé! toi qui détruis le temple et qui le rebâtis en trois jours,
30 save thyself, and come down from the cross.
sauve-toi toi-même en descendant de la croix! »
31 In like manner also the chief priests, with the scribes, making sport among themselves, said, He saved others, cannot he save himself?
De même aussi les grands prêtres, le bafouant entre eux avec les scribes, disaient: « Il en a sauvé d'autres, il ne peut se sauver lui-même!
32 Let the Christ, the king of Israel, come down now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him were reviling him.
Que le Christ, le roi d'Israël, descende maintenant de la croix, afin que nous voyions et que nous croyions! » Et ceux qui étaient crucifiés avec lui l'insultaient.
33 And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
Et quand la sixième heure fut venue, des ténèbres survinrent sur la terre entière jusques à la neuvième heure.
34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani? which is, when interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Et à la neuvième heure, Jésus s'écria en jetant un grand cri: « Eloi! Eloi! Lama sabaphthani? » ce qui signifie, étant traduit: « Mon Dieu, pourquoi m'as-Tu abandonné? »
35 And some of those who stood by, when they heard it, said, See! he is calling for Elijah.
Et quelques-uns des assistants l'ayant entendu, disaient: « Voyez, il appelle Élie. »
36 And one ran and filled a sponge with vinegar, and put it on a reed, and gave it to him to drink, saying, Hold! Let us see whether Elijah will come to take him down.
Mais quelqu'un étant accouru, et ayant rempli une éponge de vinaigre et l'ayant fixée à un roseau, lui donnait à boire, en disant: « Laissez, voyons si Élie vient le descendre. »
37 And Jesus, having uttered a loud cry, expired.
Mais Jésus ayant poussé un grand cri expira.
38 And the veil of the temple was rent in two from the top to the bottom.
Et le rideau du sanctuaire se déchira en deux du haut en bas.
39 And the centurion who stood over against him, seeing that he so expired, said, Truly this man was the Son of God.
Mais le centurion, qui se tenait en face de lui, ayant vu qu'il avait expiré de la sorte, dit: « Vraiment cet homme était fils de Dieu. »
40 There were also women looking on from a distance; among whom was Mary the Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome;
Or il y avait aussi des femmes qui regardaient de loin, parmi lesquelles aussi Marie la Magdalène, et Marie mère de Jacques le petit, et la mère de Josès, et Salomé,
41 who, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and rendered him their services; and many other women who came up with him to Jerusalem.
lesquelles, lorsqu'il était en Galilée, le suivaient et le servaient, et beaucoup d'autres qui étaient montées avec lui à Jérusalem.
42 And evening having now come, because it was the preparation, that is, the day before the sabbath,
Et comme le soir était déjà venu (parce que c'était la préparation, c'est-à-dire l'avant-sabbat),
43 Joseph of Arimathaea, an honorable councilor, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, came, and boldly went in to Pilate, and asked for the body of Jesus.
arriva Joseph d'Arimathée, sénateur de distinction, qui lui aussi attendait le royaume de Dieu, et il s'introduisit hardiment auprès de Pilate, et réclama le corps de Jésus.
44 And Pilate wondered that he was already dead; and calling to him the centurion, he asked him whether he had been long dead.
Mais Pilate s'étonna qu'il fût déjà mort, et ayant fait appeler le centurion, il lui demanda si déjà il était mort;
45 And having been informed by the centurion, he gave the body to Joseph.
et l'ayant appris du centurion, il fit don du cadavre à Joseph.
46 And having bought fine linen, he took him down, and wrapped him in the linen, and laid him in a tomb which was hewn out of a rock, and rolled a stone to the door of the tomb.
Et ayant acheté un linceul, il l'enveloppa dans le linceul après l'avoir descendu, et il le déposa dans un sépulcre, qui avait été taillé dans le roc, et il roula une pierre contre l'entrée du sépulcre.
47 And Mary the Magdalene and Mary the mother of Joses saw where he was laid.
Or Marie la Magdalène et Marie mère de Josès regardaient où on le mettait.
