< John 8 >

1 but Jesus went to the mount of Olives.
Te Yesus neu sia lete Saitun.
2 And early in the morning he came again to the temple, and all the people were coming to him. And he sat down and taught them.
Mbila fefetu anan, boe ma Ana neu mia Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ a sodꞌan rala. Atahori hetar reu raꞌabꞌue ro E. Boe ma Ana endoꞌ nanori se.
3 And the scribes and the Pharisees bring to him a woman taken in adultery; and having set her in the midst,
Leleꞌ naa, hambu inaꞌ esa fo ara humu rala e leleꞌ ana hohongge. Boe ma meser agama ro atahori Farisi hira o lea rendi e nisiꞌ Yesus.
4 they say to him, Teacher, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Boe ma rafadꞌe Yesus rae, “Papa Meser. Inaꞌ ia hambu rala e leleꞌ ana hohongge.
5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us to stone such persons; what then dost thou say?
Naa, tungga baꞌi Musa Hohoro-lalanen nara, hambu parendaꞌ oi, ‘atahori mana hohongge musi nene hondaꞌ fatu neu losa mate.’ Tungga Papa, na, taꞌo bee?”
6 But this they said to try him, that they might be able to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground.
Ara rae teꞌe-sii sobꞌa E, fo ara bisa rundu salaꞌ ma raꞌatutudꞌaꞌ E. Yesus nda nataa neuꞌ ena sa, te Ana endoꞌ dakaꞌ-dakaꞌ de suraꞌ sia rae a, nendiꞌ lima uꞌu na.
7 But when they continued asking him, he lifted himself up, and said to them, Let him that is without sin among you first cast a stone at her.
8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
Basa ma Ana endoꞌ dakaꞌ-dakaꞌ fai, de suraꞌ seluꞌ neu rae a.
9 And when they heard this, they went out one by one, beginning with the oldest; and Jesus was left alone, and the woman who was in the midst.
Leleꞌ ara rena oꞌolan ma, ara mae. Huu sia rala nara, ara bubꞌuluꞌ rae, sira o tao rita salaꞌ boe. Basa ma ara lao esa-esa, mia lasiꞌ losa soruꞌ ra. Doo-doo ma, helaꞌ a Yesus no inaꞌ a mesaꞌ ne sia naa.
10 And Jesus lifted himself up and said to her, Woman, where are they? Did no one condemn thee!
Boe ma Yesus nambariiꞌ fai, ma natane nae, “Hee? Ara sia bee ena? Nda hambu atahori laen sia ia, fo nau fee salaꞌ do hukun nggo, do?”
11 And she said, No one, Lord. And Jesus said, neither do I condemn thee; go, and sin no more.
Boe ma nataa nae, “Nese, Papa.” Yesus nafadꞌe e nae, “Au o nda nau hukun nggo sa boe. Baliꞌ leo. Te musunedꞌa. Afiꞌ tao salaꞌ fai!”]
12 Again therefore Jesus spoke to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he that followeth me shall not walk in the darkness, but shall have the light of life.]]
Yesus olaꞌ seluꞌ no atahori hetar naa ra nae, “Au ia, onaꞌ manggareloꞌ soaꞌ neu atahori sia raefafoꞌ ia. Atahori mana tungga Au nda nasodꞌa sia maꞌahatuꞌ a sa, te ana leo sia manggareloꞌ mana nendi masodꞌa ndoo-tetuꞌ a.”
13 The Pharisees therefore said to him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy witness is not true.
Hambu atahori Farisi hira rasapaa rae, “Weh! Mae dadꞌi sakasii soaꞌ neu aom, do? Nda bisa sa! Huu tungga hita hohoro-lalanen, musi atahori laen dadꞌi sakasii soaꞌ neu atahori esa, nda akaꞌ atahori na mesaꞌ ne sa. Dadꞌi hai nda simbo, ma nda nau mimihere sa.”
14 Jesus answered and said to them, Though I bear witness of myself, my witness is true; for I know whence I came, and whither I go; ye know not whence I come, or whither I go.
Yesus nataa nae, “Taꞌo ia. Mae Au dadꞌi sakasii soaꞌ neu ao Ngga, te oꞌola Ngga naa, tebꞌe. Huu Au mesaꞌ nggo bubꞌuluꞌ tebꞌe Au laoꞌ mia bee uma, boe ma ae bee uu. Hei nda bubꞌuluꞌ Au mia bee uma sa, boe ma nda bubꞌuluꞌ dei fo Au bee uu sa boe.
15 Ye judge according to the flesh; I judge no one.
16 But even if I myself should judge, my judgment is true, because I am not alone, but I and he who sent me.
Mete ma Au nile atahori, Au timba-tai ngga naa, ndaa. Huu Au nda nile mesaꞌ nggo sa, te Au tao basa-bꞌasa naa ra uꞌubꞌue o Ama ngga mana denu Auꞌ a.
17 Moreover, it is written in your law, that the witness of two men is true.
Afiꞌ liliiꞌ.
18 I am one who bear witness of myself, and the Father who sent me beareth witness of me.
Dadꞌi nda akaꞌ Au mesaꞌ nggo dadꞌi sakasii soꞌal ao ngga sa. Huu Ama ngga mana denu Auꞌ a o dadꞌi sakasii ma olaꞌ soꞌal Au boe.”
19 They said therefore to him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye know neither me, nor my Father. If ye knew me, ye would know my Father also.
Ara ratane rae, “Amam naa, sia bee?” Boe ma Yesus nataa nae, “Hei nda mihine tebꞌe Au sa. Hei o nda mihine Au Ama ngga sa boe. Huu mete ma hei mihine tebꞌe Au, tantu mihine Eni boe.”
20 These words he spoke in the treasury, while teaching in the temple; and no one laid hands on him, because his hour had not yet come.
Basa ia ra, Yesus nafadꞌe leleꞌ Ana nanori sia Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ a, deka-deka sia mamanaꞌ fo radꞌuru rendiꞌ neu doi kolete. Nda hambu esa humu E sa boe, huu fain nda feꞌe losa sa.
21 Again therefore he said to them, I go away, and ye will seek me, and will die in your sin. Whither I go, ye cannot come.
22 The Jews therefore said, Will he kill himself, that he saith, Whither I go, ye cannot come?
Basa ma atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara esa natane esa rae, “Ana olaꞌ saa ia? Ana nae tao nisa aon, do? Huu Ana oi, ‘Hei nda bisa mii sia mamanaꞌ naa sa.’”
23 And he said to them, Ye are from beneath, I am from above; ye are of this world, I am not of this world.
24 Therefore I said to you, that ye will die in your sins; for unless ye believe that I am He, ye will die in your sins.
Naeni de Au ufadꞌe faꞌ ra ae, mete ma hei mate, ama feꞌe lemba-misaa sala-kilu mara. Huu mete ma hei nda mimihere mae, Au ia, naeni Kristus, fo Lamatualain haitua nemaꞌ a ena, dei fo hei mate, na tantu ama feꞌe lemba-misaa sala-kilu mara.”
25 They said therefore to him, Who art thou? Jesus said to them, In the first place, I am just that which I speak to you.
Basa ma ratane rae, “Weh! Ho ia, seka?” Yesus nataa nae, “Au ufadꞌe memaꞌ mia fefeun ena.
26 I have many things to say, and to judge, concerning you; but he who sent me is true; and I speak to the world what I heard from him.
Hambu dalaꞌ hetar fo Au bisa ufadꞌe soꞌal hei. Hei sala mara naeꞌ boe.
27 They understood not that he spoke to them of the Father.
28 Jesus therefore said, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye will know that I am He, and do nothing of myself, but speak these things as the Father taught me.
Boe ma Yesus olaꞌ seluꞌ fai nae, “Dei fo mete ma hei londa nggangge Au, Atahori Matetuꞌ ia, sia hau ngganggeꞌ ata, dei fo hei mihine mae, Au ia, naeni Kristus. Au nda tao saa-saa mia Au ao ngga sa, te Au unori akaꞌ dala-dalaꞌ fo Ama ngga sia sorga nanori neu Au ena.
29 And he that sent me is with me; he hath not left me alone, for I always do the things that please him.
Mana denu Au a, naꞌabꞌue no Au nakandooꞌ a. Ana nda parna hela nita Au mesaꞌ nggo sa, huu Au akaꞌ tao tungga Eni hihii-nanaun.”
30 As he spoke these words, many believed in him.
Leleꞌ Yesus nafadꞌe dalaꞌ ia ra, ma atahori hetar ramahere E boe.
31 Jesus therefore said to those Jews who believed in him, If ye continue in my word, ye are truly my disciples;
Basa ma, Yesus nafadꞌe neu atahori Yahudi ra mana ramahere neu Eni a nae, “Mete ma hei misodꞌa nenepaꞌaꞌ mo Au Dedꞌea-oꞌola ngga ra, ma hei minori mikindoo mia Au, na, hei dadꞌi Au ana mana tungga ngga tebꞌe-tebꞌeꞌ.
32 and ye will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.
Basa fo, hei bisa bubꞌuluꞌ dala-dala ndoo-tetuꞌ ra. Ma dala-dala ndoo-tetuꞌ naa, mana mboꞌiꞌ nggi, de ama nda afiꞌ dadꞌi ate sa ena.”
33 They answered him, We are Abraham's offspring, and have never been in bondage to any one; how sayest, thou, Ye will be made free?
Basa ma ara rasapaa rae, “Hee! Hai ia, nda atahori aten sa! Huu hai ia, baꞌi Abraham tititi-nonosin! Dadꞌi taꞌo bee de olaꞌ mae, dei fo hai nenemboꞌit?”
34 Jesus answered them, Truly, truly do I say to you, Every one that committeth sin is a bond-servant of sin.
Boe ma Yesus nafadꞌe neu se nae, “Au oꞌola ngga naa, tebꞌe. Huu basa atahori fo rasodꞌaꞌ tao salaꞌ ra, dadꞌi onaꞌ ate esa akaꞌ tungga-tunggaꞌ a salaꞌ hihii-nanaun.
35 And the bond-servant abideth not in the house for ever; the son abideth for ever.
Huu akaꞌ malangga anan mana simbo hata-hetoꞌ naa. (aiōn g165)
36 If therefore the Son make you free, ye will be free indeed.
Dadꞌi mete ma Au, naeni Lamatualain Anan, fee ambon neu sala-kilu mara, na, hei nenemboꞌit ena, ma nda dadꞌi salaꞌ a aten sa ena. No taꞌo naa, hei nenemboꞌit tebꞌe ena, de sudꞌi boe tungga salaꞌ a hihii-nanaun fai!
37 I know that ye are Abraham's offspring; but ye seek to kill me, because my word is not received within you.
Au bubꞌuluꞌ hei ia, naeni baꞌi Abraham tititi-nonosin. Mae onaꞌ naa boe o, hei akaꞌ sangga-sangga dalaꞌ fo mae tao misa Au, huu ama nda nau simbo Au nenori ngga sa. Huu sia rala mara, nda hambu mamanaꞌ fo mbedaꞌ Au Dedꞌea-oꞌola ngga sa ena.
38 I speak what I have seen with the Father; and ye accordingly do what ye have seen with your father.
Au ufadꞌe dala-dalaꞌ fo itaꞌ ra, fo Ama ngga natudꞌu neu Au ena. Ma hei tao tungga dala-dalaꞌ fo hei rena mia ama mara.”
39 They answered and said to him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith to them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.
Ara rataa rae, “Hai ia, baꞌi Abraham tititi-nonosin!” Yesus nafadꞌe nae, “Mete ma hei dadꞌi baꞌi Abraham tititi-nonosin tebꞌe, na, hei tao tungga e.
40 But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath spoken to you the truth, which I heard from God; this did not Abraham.
Te baꞌi Abraham nda tao nita deꞌulakaꞌ onaꞌ hei taoꞌ naa sa! Huu hei akaꞌ sangga dalaꞌ fo mae tao misa Au. Tao-tao te Au ia, mana ufadꞌe neu nggi dala-dala ndoo-tetuꞌ a, fo Au rena mia Lamatualain.
41 Ye do the works of your father. They said to him, We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, God.
Hai ia, ana nene hengge neeꞌ! Afiꞌ mae, hai ia, ana tias! Huu hai Amam, akaꞌ esaꞌ a, naeni Lamatualain!”
42 Jesus said to them, If God were your father, ye would love me; for from God I proceeded forth and am come; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
Te Au uma, huu Eni mana denu Au.
43 Why do ye not understand my language? It is because ye cannot listen to my word.
Taꞌo bee de hei nda mihine Au oꞌola ngga sa? Mbei ma hei nda nau rena, sa!
44 Ye are of your father the Devil, and what your father desireth ye are ready to do. He was a murderer from the beginning; and he abideth not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh from his own nature; for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Hei ia, mataꞌ sa onaꞌ nitu ra malanggan. Huu hei hiiꞌ a tao tungga eni hihii-nanaun! Mia fefeun, eni mana tao nisa atahori. Eni labꞌan dala ndoo-tetuꞌ ra, ana tola hendi basa ndoo-tetuꞌ ra.
45 But because I speak the truth, ye believe me not.
Au ia, mana ufadꞌe dala ndoo-tetuꞌ a. Te hei nda mimihere Au sa.
46 Which of you convicteth me of sin? If I speak truth, Why do ye not believe me?
Sobꞌa! Seka mia hei bisa natudꞌu nalaꞌ bukti nae, Au tao salaꞌ ena? Heran, e! Mete ma Au olaꞌ ndoo-tetuꞌ, taoꞌ bee de hei nda nau mimihere Au sa?
47 He that is of God heareth God's words; for this cause ye do not hear, because ye are not of God.
Naa, atahori mana laoꞌ mia Lamatualain rena Dedꞌea-oꞌolan.
48 The Jews answered and said to him, Say we not well, that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a demon?
Atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara, rataa rae, “Weh! Hai olaꞌ naa tebꞌe ena. Huu hai mifadꞌe ena, Ho ia, nda atahori Yahudi matetuꞌ sa, te Ho atahori Samaria. Ho o nitu a sia ralam ena!”
49 Jesus answered, I have not a demon, but I honor my Father, and ye dishonor me.
50 But I seek not my own glory; there is one that seeketh and judgeth.
Au nda soꞌu ao ngga fo utudꞌu manaseli ngga sa. Te hambu Esa nau natudꞌu Au manaseli ngga. Hela Eni mana naꞌetuꞌ nae Au oꞌola ngga nda, do hokoꞌ.
51 Truly, truly do I say to you, If any one keep my word, he will never see death. (aiōn g165)
Au Dedꞌea-oꞌola ngga, memaꞌ tebꞌe! Ma, atahori mana rena ma tao tungga Dedꞌea oꞌola ngga, nda mate sa.” (aiōn g165)
52 The Jews said to him, Now we know that thou hast a demon. Abraham died, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he will never taste of death. (aiōn g165)
Rena onaꞌ naa, ma atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara rafadꞌe E rae, “Ia naa, hai bubꞌuluꞌ ho olaꞌ onaꞌ muluꞌ e, huu nitu a sia ralam ena. Baꞌi Abraham mate ena. Lamatualain mana ola-ola dalahulu nara, o mate ena boe. Te ho mae, ‘atahori mana rena ma tao tungga Au Dedꞌea-oꞌola ngga ra, nda mate sa.’ Memaꞌ ho mumulu ena! (aiōn g165)
53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, who died? The prophets also died. Whom dost thou make thyself?
Do duꞌa mae ho manaseliꞌ lenaꞌ baꞌi Abraham mana mateꞌ a? Do, Ho manaseliꞌ lenaꞌ Lamatualain mana ola-olan fo mana mateꞌ ra ena do? Ho duꞌa, mae Ho ia, seka?”
54 Jesus answered, If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing. It is my Father that glorifieth me, of whom ye say, He is our God:
Boe ma Yesus nataa, nae “Mete ma Au mana soꞌu Ao ngga, atahori nda nau simbo sa. Tao-tao te, Au nda soꞌu-soꞌuꞌ ao ngga sa, te Ama ngga mana soꞌu nanaru Au. Eni fo hei mitaa mae, hei Lamatualain ma.
55 yet ye know him not; but I know him. And if I should say, I know him not, I should be a liar like you. But I know him, and keep his word.
Te hei nda mihine E sa. Au uhine no maloleꞌ. Mete ma Au ae nda uhine maloleꞌ E sa, na, Au mana ombo-koson, onaꞌ hei boe. Te Au uhine maloleꞌ E, ma Au o tao tungga Dedꞌea-oꞌolan boe.
56 Your father Abraham exulted that he might see my day; and he saw it, and was glad.
Hei baꞌi Abraham ma ralan namahoꞌo seli, leleꞌ ana nahani nae nita Au uꞌuma ngga. Memaꞌ Ana nita ena, de ana maꞌahee.”
57 The Jews therefore said to him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
Atahori Yahudi ra malangga nara rafadꞌe rae, “Ho nda feꞌe too lima nulu sa boe! Te mae ho mita baꞌi Abraham ena. Tebꞌe, do?”
58 Jesus said to them, Truly, truly do I say to you, From before Abraham was, I have been.
Boe ma Yesus nataa nae, “Tebꞌe! Huu baꞌi Abraham nda feꞌe sia sa, te Au sia ena.”
59 They therefore took up stones to throw at him; but Jesus concealed himself, and went out of the temple.
Boe ma, atahori naa ra haꞌi fatu fo rae honda E, huu Ana soꞌu Aon onaꞌ Lamatualain. Te Ana laoꞌ bambi-bambi de dea neu mia Ume Hule-oꞌe Huuꞌ a sodꞌan.
