< Romans 1 >

1 Paul, a servant of Meshikha Yeshua, called to be an apostle, set apart for the Good News of God,
ⲁ̅ⲡⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ ⲡϩⲙϩⲁⲗ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲧⲧⲁϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲡⲟⲣϫϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
2 which he promised before through his prophets in the holy Scriptures,
ⲃ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲣⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲫⲏ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
3 concerning his Son, who was born of the offspring of Dawid according to the flesh,
ⲅ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲛⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲁⲣⲝ
4 who was declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Rukha of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead, Yeshua Meshikha our Lord,
ⲇ̅ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲧⲟϣϥ ⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲙⲡⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲧⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲉⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
5 through whom we received grace and the office of apostle, for obedience of faith among all the nations, for his name's sake;
ⲉ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲛϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧϥ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲛⲧⲁⲡⲟⲥⲧⲟⲗⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲛ ⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϩⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ
6 among whom you are also called to belong to Yeshua Meshikha;
ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲏⲡ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲧⲁϩⲙ ϩⲛ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
7 to all who are in Rome, loved by God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Yeshua Meshikha.
ⲍ̅ⲛⲉⲧϩⲛ ϩⲣⲱⲙⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲉⲣⲓⲧ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲧⲁϩⲙ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲉⲭⲁⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲙⲛ ϯⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲙⲛ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ
8 First, I thank my God through Yeshua Meshikha for all of you, because your faith is proclaimed throughout the whole world.
ⲏ̅ϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ϯϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲧⲙⲡⲁⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲧⲏⲣⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉϯⲥⲟⲉⲓⲧ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ
9 For God is my witness, whom I serve in my spirit in the Good News of his Son, how I constantly mention you
ⲑ̅ⲡⲁⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉϯϣⲙϣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲁⲡⲛⲁ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲙⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲁϫⲛⲱϫⲛ ⲉⲓⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ
10 always in my prayers, requesting, if by any means now at last I may succeed by the will of God to come to you.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉⲓⲥⲟⲡⲥ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲧⲁϩⲓⲏ ⲥⲟⲟⲩⲧⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ
11 For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you;
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ϯⲟⲩⲉϣⲛⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲣⲱⲧⲛ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲓⲉϯ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲟⲩϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲡⲛⲁⲧⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲧⲁϫⲣⲉ ⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
12 that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith, both yours and mine.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲥⲗⲥⲗ ⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲉⲣⲏⲩ ⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲙⲛⲧⲱⲓ
13 Now I do not desire to have you unaware, brothers, that I often planned to come to you, and was hindered so far, that I might have some fruit among you also, even as among the other non-Jewish people.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ϯⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲥⲛⲏⲩ ϫⲉ ⲁⲓⲕⲁⲁⲥ ϩⲁⲉⲓⲁⲧ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲉⲓ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲱⲗⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϣⲁⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲓⲉϫⲡⲟ ⲛⲟⲩⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲉϣⲱϫⲡ ⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ
14 I have an obligation both to Greeks and to barbarians, both to the wise and to the foolish.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛϩⲉⲗⲗⲏⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲃⲁⲣⲃⲁⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲥⲟⲫⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲛⲧⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲓ
15 So, for my part, I am eager to preach the Good News to you also who are in Rome.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟⲧ ⲉⲧⲛⲙⲙⲁⲓ ⲉⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲍⲉ ϩⲱⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲛ ϩⲣⲱⲙⲏ
16 For I am not ashamed of the Good News, for it is the power of God for salvation for everyone who believes; for the Jew first, and also for the Greek.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲛϯϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓⲟⲛ ⲟⲩϭⲟⲙ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲛ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ⲛⲓⲟⲩⲇⲁⲓ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲉⲓⲉⲛⲓⲛ
17 For in it is revealed God's righteousness from faith to faith. As it is written, "But the righteous shall live by faith."
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁϭⲱⲗⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲥⲏϩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ
18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of people, who suppress the truth by unrighteousness,
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲧⲟⲣⲅⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁϭⲱⲗⲡ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲧⲡⲉ ⲉϫⲙ ⲙⲛⲧϣⲁϥⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲁⲙⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ
19 because what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ϫⲉ ⲡⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲟⲩⲟⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
20 For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made. So they are without excuse. (aïdios g126)
ⲕ̅ⲛⲉϥⲡⲉⲑⲏⲡ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲉⲩⲛⲟⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϥϭⲟⲙ ⲧⲉ ⲛϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲙⲛⲧⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲛⲧⲟⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲉϫⲱ (aïdios g126)
21 Because, although they knew God, they did not glorify him as God or give him thanks, but their thinking became nonsense, and their foolish heart was darkened.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲥⲟⲩⲛ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϯ ⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲁϥ ϩⲱⲥ ⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϣⲡϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲩⲣⲡⲉⲧϣⲟⲩⲉⲓⲧ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲩⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲡⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲛⲁⲧⲥⲃⲱ ⲣⲕⲁⲕⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools,
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲥⲁⲃⲉ ⲁⲩⲣⲥⲟϭ
23 and traded the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal humans, and of birds, and four-footed animals, and crawling creatures.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩϣⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲛⲉ ⲛϩⲓⲕⲱⲛ ⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉϣⲁϥⲧⲁⲕⲟ ϩⲓ ϩⲁⲗⲏⲧ ϩⲓ ⲧⲃⲛⲏ ϩⲓ ϫⲁⲧϥⲉ
24 Therefore God also abandoned them in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves,
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲛⲛⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲉⲩⲁⲕⲁⲑⲁⲣⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲥⲱϣ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ
25 who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served the creation rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲓⲃⲉ ⲛⲧⲙⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡϭⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϣⲙϣⲉ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲙⲁⲙⲁⲁⲧ ϣⲁ ⲛⲓⲉⲛⲉϩ ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ (aiōn g165)
26 For this reason, God abandoned them to their degrading passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for that which is contrary to nature.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϩⲉⲛⲡⲁⲑⲟⲥ ⲉⲩⲥⲏϣ ⲉⲓⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲩϩⲓⲟⲙⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲓⲃⲉ ⲙⲡϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲫⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲧⲉⲩⲫⲩⲥⲓⲥ
27 Likewise also the men, giving up natural relations with women, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men, committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲟⲙⲟⲓⲱⲥ ⲛⲉⲩⲕⲉϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩⲕⲱ ⲛⲥⲱⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲧⲉⲫⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲙⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲩⲉⲣⲏⲩ ϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲩⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲧⲁⲥⲭⲩⲙⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧϣⲃⲉⲓⲱ ⲙⲡⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲡⲗⲁⲛⲏ ⲉⲧⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲩϫⲉⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲟⲩ
28 Even as they refused to have God in their knowledge, God abandoned them to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not right;
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲡⲟⲩⲇⲟⲕⲓⲙⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲕⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲧⲁⲁⲩ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲛϫⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲙⲉϣϣⲉ
29 being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil habits, secret slanderers,
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲩϫⲏⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϫⲓ ⲛϭⲟⲛⲥ ⲛⲓⲙ ϩⲓ ⲕⲁⲕⲓⲁ ϩⲓ ⲡⲟⲛⲏⲣⲓⲁ ϩⲓ ⲙⲁⲓⲧⲟ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉⲩⲙⲉϩ ⲛⲗⲁ ϩⲓ ϩⲱⲧⲃ ϩⲓ ϯⲧⲱⲛ ϩⲓ ⲕⲣⲟϥ ⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲉϥϩⲟⲟⲩ
30 slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

31 foolish, promise-breakers, heartless, unforgiving, unmerciful;
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ⲛⲁⲑⲏⲧ ⲛⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲁϩⲓⲏⲧ ⲛⲁⲧⲛⲁ
32 who, knowing the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but also approve of those who practice them.
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲱⲙⲁ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲥⲉⲙⲡϣⲁ ⲙⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲟⲩ ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲥⲉⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲥⲉⲥⲩⲛⲉⲩⲇⲟⲕⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ
