Psalms 76

1 “To the chief musician on Neginoth, a psalm or song of Assaph.” In Judah hath God been made known: in Israel is his name great.

Conhecido é Deus em Judá: grande é o seu nome em Israel.

2 And in Salem was his tabernacle made, and his dwelling-place in Zion.

E em Salém está o seu tabernáculo, e a sua morada em Sião.

3 There broke he the shining arrows of the bow, shield, and sword, and battle. (Selah)

Ali quebrou as flechas do arco; o escudo, e a espada e a guerra (Selah)

4 Thou art more brilliant, more excellent than the mountains [full] of prey.

Tu és mais ilustre, ó glorioso, do que os montes de preza.

5 Bereft of reason are the stouthearted, they slumber their sleep: and none of the men of might have found [the use of] their hands.

Os que são ousados de coração são despojados; dormiram o seu sono, e nenhum dos homens de força achou as suas mãos

6 From thy rebuke, O God of Jacob, lie in deep sleep both chariot and horse.

Á tua repreensão, ó Deus de Jacob, carros e cavalos são lançados num sono profundo.

7 Thou—thou art to be feared: and who may stand in thy sight when once thy anger [is kindled]?

Tu, tu és terrível; e quem subsistirá à tua vista, uma vez que te irares?

8 From heaven hast thou caused [thy] sentence to be heard: the earth feared, and became still,

Desde os céus fizeste ouvir o teu juízo; a terra tremeu e se aquietou,

9 When God rose to judgment, to save all the lowly of the earth. (Selah)

Quando Deus se levantou para fazer juízo, para livrar a todos os mansos da terra (Selah)

10 For the fury of man shall praise thee: the remainder of the fury wilt thou gird about thee.

Porque a colera do homem redundará em teu louvor; o restante da colera tu o restringirás.

11 Make vows, and pay [them] unto the Lord your God, all ye that are round about him: let men bring presents unto him that exciteth fear.

Fazei votos, e pagai ao Senhor, vosso Deus: tragam presentes, os que estão em redor dele, àquele que é tremendo.

12 He will cut down the spirit of the powerful: he is terrible to the kings of the earth.

Ele ceifará o espírito dos príncipes: é tremendo para com os reis da terra.
