1 Corinthians 13
1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love, (agape) I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
Aunque yo hable la lengua de los hombres y de los ángeles, si no tengo amor, soy como bronce que suena o címbalo que retiñe.
2 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, (agape) I am nothing.
Y aunque tenga ( don de ) profecía, y sepa todos los misterios, y toda la ciencia, y tenga toda la fe en forma que traslade montañas, si no tengo amor, nada soy.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not love, (agape) it profits me nothing.
Y si repartiese mi hacienda toda, y si entregase mi cuerpo para ser quemado, mas no tengo caridad, nada me aprovecha.
4 Love (agape) suffers long, and is kind; love (agape) envies not; love (agape) vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
El amor es paciente; el amor es benigno, sin envidia; el amor no es jactancioso, no se engríe;
5 Does not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
no hace nada que no sea conveniente, no busca lo suyo, no se irrita, no piensa mal;
6 Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
no se regocija en la injusticia, antes se regocija con la verdad;
7 Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
todo lo sobrelleva, todo lo cree, todo lo espera, todo lo soporta.
8 Love (agape) never fails: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
El amor nunca se acaba; en cambio, las profecías terminarán, las lenguas cesarán, la ciencia tendrá su fin.
9 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
Porque ( solo ) en parte conocemos, y en parte profetizamos;
10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
mas cuando llegue lo perfecto, entonces lo parcial se acabará.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Cuando yo era niño, hablaba como niño, pensaba como niño, razonaba como niño; mas cuando llegué a ser hombre, me deshice de las cosas de niño.
12 For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
Porque ahora miramos en un enigma, a través de un espejo; mas entonces veremos cara a cara. Ahora conozco en parte, entonces conoceré plenamente de la manera en que también fui conocido.
13 And now abides faith, hope, love, (agape) these three; but the greatest of these is love. (agape)
Al presente permanecen la fe, la esperanza y la caridad, estas tres; mas la mayor de ellas es la caridad.
