Luke 15
1 Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.
૧હવે ઈસુનું સાંભળવા સારુ સઘળા દાણીઓ તથા પાપીઓ તેમની પાસે આવતા હતા.
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
૨ફરોશીઓએ તથા શાસ્ત્રીઓએ કચકચ કરીને કહ્યું કે, ‘આ માણસ પાપીઓનો સ્વીકાર કરે છે, અને તેઓની સાથે ભોજન પણ કરે છે.’”
3 And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
૩ઈસુએ તેઓને આ દ્રષ્ટાંત કહ્યું કે,
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
૪‘જો કોઈ માણસ પાસે સો ઘેટાં હોય, અને એ સો ઘેટાંમાંથી એક ઘેટું ખોવાય, તો શું તે પેલાં બાકીનાં નવ્વાણું ઘેટાંને અરણ્યમાં મૂકીને ખોવયેલું ઘેટું મળે નહિ ત્યાં સુધી તેની શોધમાં નહિ જાય?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
૫તે ઘેટું તેને મળે છે ત્યારે તે હર્ષથી પોતાના ખભા પર ઊંચકીને ઘરે લઈ જાય છે.
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
૬ઘરે આવીને પોતાના મિત્રોને તથા પડોશીઓને બોલાવે છે, અને તેઓને કહે છે કે, મારી સાથે આનંદ કરો, કેમ કે મારું ઘેટું જે ખોવાયું હતું તે મને પાછું મળ્યું છે.
7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
૭હું તમને કહું છું કે, તે જ રીતે નવ્વાણું ન્યાયીઓ કે જેઓને પસ્તાવાની જરૂર નથી, તેઓના કરતાં એક પાપી પસ્તાવો કરે તેને લીધે સ્વર્ગમાં આનંદ થશે.
8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
૮અથવા એક સ્ત્રી કે જેની પાસે ચાંદીના દસ સિક્કા હોય, અને તેઓમાંનો એક સિક્કો ખોવાય, તો તે દીવો કરીને, ઘર નહિ વાળે અને તે મળે નહિ ત્યાં સુધી તેની શોધ સારી રીતે નહિ કરે?
9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
૯તેને તે સિક્કો મળે છે ત્યારે તે પોતાની સખીઓને તથા પડોશીઓને બોલાવીને કહે છે કે, મારી સાથે આનંદ કરો, કેમ કે મારો સિક્કો ખોવાઈ ગયો હતો તે મને પાછો મળ્યો છે.
10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of YHWH over one sinner that repenteth.
૧૦હું તમને કહું છું કે એ જ પ્રમાણે એક પાપી પસ્તાવો કરે, તેને લઈને ઈશ્વરના સ્વર્ગદૂતોની સમક્ષ આનંદ થાય છે.’”
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
૧૧વળી ઈસુએ કહ્યું કે, ‘એક માણસને બે દીકરા હતા.
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
૧૨તેઓમાંના નાનાએ પિતાને કહ્યું કે, પિતાજી, મિલકતનો જે મારો ભાગ આવે તે મને આપો; તેથી પિતાએ તેઓને ભાઈઓને પોતાની મિલકત વહેંચી આપી.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
૧૩અને થોડા દિવસો પછી નાનો દીકરો બધું ભેગું કરીને દૂર દેશમાં ચાલ્યો ગયો, અને ત્યાં મોજમજામાં પોતાની સંપત્તિ વેડફી નાખી.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
૧૪અને તેણે બધું ખલાસ કરી નાખ્યું, ત્યાર પછી તે દેશમાં ભારે દુકાળ પડ્યો અને તેને તંગી પડવા લાગી.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
૧૫તે જઈને તે દેશના વતનીઓમાંના એકને ત્યાં રહ્યો; તેણે તેને પોતાના ખેતરમાં ભૂંડો ચરવા માટે તેને મોકલ્યો.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
૧૬ખેતરમાં જે સિંગો ભૂંડો ખાતાં હતાં તેનાથી પોતાનું પેટ ભરવાનું તેને મન થતું હતું; કોઈ તેને કશું ખાવાનું આપતું નહિ.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
૧૭એવામાં તે ભાનમાં આવ્યો અને તેને થયું કે, મારા પિતાના કેટલા બધા મજૂરોને પુષ્કળ રોટલી મળે છે ને હું તો અહીં ભૂખે મરું છું!
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
૧૮હું ઊઠીને મારા પિતાની પાસે જઈશ, અને તેમને કહીશ કે, પિતાજી, મેં સ્વર્ગ વિરુદ્ધ તથા તમારી આગળ પાપ કર્યું છે;
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
૧૯હું તમારો દીકરો કહેવાને યોગ્ય નથી; તારા મજૂરોમાંના એકના જેવો મને રાખ.
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
૨૦પછી તે ઊઠીને પોતાના પિતાની પાસે ગયો, અને તે હજી ઘણો દૂર હતો એટલામાં તેના પિતાએ તેને જોયો, તેમને અનુકંપા આવી, અને તેના પિતા દોડીને તેને ભેટ્યા તથા તેને ચુંબન કર્યું.
21 And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
૨૧દીકરાએ તેમને કહ્યું કે, પિતાજી, મેં સ્વર્ગ વિરુદ્ધ તથા તમારી આગળ પાપ કર્યું છે, હવે હું તમારો દીકરો કહેવાવાને યોગ્ય નથી.
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
૨૨પણ પિતાએ પોતાના નોકરોને કહ્યું કે, સારાંમાં સારો ઝભ્ભો જલદી લાવીને એને પહેરાવો; એને હાથે વીંટી અને પગમાં પગરખું પહેરાવો;
23 And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
૨૩ઉત્તમ ભોજનની વ્યવસ્થા કરો. આવો આપણે મિજબાની કરીએ અને આનંદ મનાવીએ.
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
૨૪કેમ કે આ મારો દીકરો મૃત્યુ પામ્યો હતો, તે પાછો સજીવન થયો છે; તે ખોવાયેલો હતો, તે પાછો મળ્યો છે અને તેઓ આનંદ કરવા લાગ્યા.
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
૨૫હવે પિતાનો મોટો દીકરો ખેતરમાં હતો; તે ત્યાંથી ઘરે આવતાં ઘરની નજીક આવી પહોંચ્યો, ત્યારે તેણે નાચગાનનો અવાજ સાંભળ્યો.
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
૨૬તેણે ચાકરોમાંના એકને બોલાવીને પૂછ્યું કે, આ શું ચાલી રહ્યું છે?
27 And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
૨૭ચાકરે તેને કહ્યું કે, તમારો ભાઈ પાછો આવ્યો છે, ને તમારા પિતાએ મોટી મિજબાની આપી છે, કેમ કે તે તેમને સહીસલામત પાછો મળ્યો છે.
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
૨૮પણ તે ગુસ્સે થયો, અને અંદર જવા માટે રાજી ન હતો. તેના પિતાએ બહાર આવીને તેને વિનંતી કરી.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
૨૯પણ તેણે તેના પિતાને ઉત્તર આપતા કહ્યું કે, જો, આટલાં બધાં વર્ષથી હું તમારી ચાકરી કરું છું, અને તમારી આજ્ઞા મેં કદી ઉથાપી નથી, તોપણ મારા મિત્રોની સાથે ખુશાલી કરવા સારુ તમે મને લવારુંય કદી આપ્યું નથી.
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
૩૦પણ આ તમારો દીકરો કે જેણે વેશ્યાઓ પાછળ તમારી મિલકત વેડફી નાખી છે, તે પાછો આવ્યો ત્યારે તમે તેને સારુ મિજબાની આપી છે.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
૩૧પિતાએ તેને કહ્યું કે, દીકરા, તું મારી સાથે નિત્ય છે, અને જે મારું છે તે સઘળું તારું જ છે.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
૩૨આપણે માટે ખુશી થવું તથા આનંદ કરવો તે ઉચિત હતું, કેમ કે આ તારો ભાઈ જે મૃત્યુ પામ્યો હતો, તે સજીવન થયો છે; જે ખોવાયેલો હતો, તે પાછો મળી આવ્યો છે.’”
