Psalms 44
1 For the Leader; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Maschil. O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us; a work Thou didst in their days, in the days of old.
Oh ʼElohim, escuchamos con nuestros oídos, Nos contaron nuestros antepasados Las obras que Tú hiciste en sus días, En los tiempos antiguos.
2 Thou with Thy hand didst drive out the nations, and didst plant them in; Thou didst break the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.
Con tu mano expulsaste a las naciones Para establecerlos a ellos. Abatiste a los pueblos y los echaste.
3 For not by their own sword did they get the land in possession, neither did their own arm save them; but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou wast favourable unto them.
No poseyeron la tierra por su espada, Ni los libró su brazo, Sino tu mano derecha, tu brazo y la luz de tu rostro, Porque te complaciste en ellos.
4 Thou art my King, O God; command the salvation of Jacob.
Tú eres mi Rey, oh ʼElohim. ¡Ordena las victorias de Jacob!
5 Through Thee do we push down our adversaries; through Thy name do we tread them under that rise up against us.
Por medio de Ti sacudiremos a nuestros enemigos. En tu Nombre pisotearemos a los que se levantan contra nosotros.
6 For I trust not in my bow, neither can my sword save me.
Porque no confiaré en mi arco, Ni mi espada me salvará.
7 But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
Pero Tú nos salvaste de nuestros adversarios Y avergonzaste a los que nos aborrecen.
8 In God have we gloried all the day, and we will give thanks unto Thy name for ever. (Selah)
En ʼElohim nos gloriaremos todo el día Y alabaremos tu Nombre para siempre. (Selah)
9 Yet Thou hast cast off, and brought us to confusion; and goest not forth with our hosts.
Pero nos desechaste y nos avergonzaste. No sales con nuestros ejércitos.
10 Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary; and they that hate us spoil at their will.
Nos haces retroceder del adversario. Los que nos aborrecen nos saquean.
11 Thou hast given us like sheep to be eaten; and hast scattered us among the nations.
Nos entregas como ovejas para el matadero Y nos esparciste entre las naciones.
12 Thou sellest Thy people for small gain, and hast not set their prices high.
Vendes a tu pueblo por nada. Ningún beneficio exiges por ellos.
13 Thou makest us a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
Nos convertiste en oprobio de nuestros vecinos, En escarnio y burla de los que nos rodean.
14 Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
Nos pusiste como refrán entre las naciones, Un objeto de burla en medio de los pueblos.
15 All the day is my confusion before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
Todo el día mi deshonor está delante de mí Y la confusión cubre mi cara,
16 For the voice of him that taunteth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.
Por la voz del que me critica y deshonra Por causa del enemigo y del vengativo.
17 All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten Thee, neither have we been false to Thy covenant.
Todo esto nos vino, Pero no nos olvidamos de Ti, Ni fuimos infieles a tu Pacto.
18 Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Thy path;
Nuestro corazón no se volvió atrás, Ni nuestros pasos se desviaron de tu senda.
19 Though Thou hast crushed us into a place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
Pero Tú nos aplastaste en un sitio de chacales, Y nos cubriste con la sombra de muerte.
20 If we had forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
Si nos olvidamos del Nombre de nuestro ʼElohim O alzamos nuestras manos a un ʼelohim extraño,
21 Would not God search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
¿ʼElohim no demandaría esto? Porque Él conoce los secretos del corazón.
22 Nay, but for Thy sake are we killed all the day; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
Pero por tu causa nos matan cada día. Somos considerados como ovejas para el matadero.
23 Awake, why sleepest Thou, O Lord? Arouse Thyself, cast not off for ever.
Despiértate, ʼAdonay. ¿Por qué duermes? Despiértate, no nos rechaces para siempre.
24 Wherefore hidest Thou Thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
¿Por qué escondes tu rostro Y te olvidas de la aflicción y de nuestra opresión?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
Porque nuestra alma está agobiada hasta el polvo Y nuestro cuerpo está pegado a la tierra.
26 Arise for our help, and redeem us for Thy mercy's sake.
Levántate, sé nuestra Ayuda. Redímenos por tu misericordia.
