Psalms 109
1 For the Leader. A Psalm of David. O God of my praise, keep not silence;
Au maître de chant. Psaume de David. Dieu de ma louange, ne garde pas le silence!
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit have they opened against me; they have spoken unto me with a lying tongue.
Car la bouche du méchant, la bouche du perfide, s'ouvre contre moi. Ils parlent contre moi avec une langue de mensonge,
3 They compassed me about also with words of hatred, and fought against me without a cause.
ils m'assiègent de paroles haineuses, et ils me font la guerre sans motif.
4 In return for my love they are my adversaries; but I am all prayer.
En retour de mon affection, ils me combattent, et moi, je ne fais que prier.
5 And they have laid upon me evil for good, and hatred for my love:
Ils me rendent le mal pour le bien, et la haine pour l'amour.
6 'Set Thou a wicked man over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand.
Mets-le au pouvoir d'un méchant, et que l'accusateur se tienne à sa droite!
7 When he is judged, let him go forth condemned; and let his prayer be turned into sin.
Quand on le jugera, qu'il sorte coupable, et que sa prière soit réputée péché!
8 Let his days be few; let another take his charge.
Que ses jours soient abrégés, et qu'un autre prenne sa charge!
9 Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.
Que ses enfants deviennent orphelins, que son épouse soit veuve!
10 Let his children be vagabonds, and beg; and let them seek their bread out of their desolate places.
Que ses enfants soient vagabonds et mendiants, cherchant leur pain loin de leurs maisons en ruines!
11 Let the creditor distrain all that he hath; and let strangers make spoil of his labour.
Que le créancier s'empare de tout ce qui est à lui, et que les étrangers pillent ce qu'il a gagné par son travail!
12 Let there be none to extend kindness unto him; neither let there be any to be gracious unto his fatherless children.
Qu'il n'ait personne qui lui garde son affection, que nul n'ait pitié de ses orphelins!
13 Let his posterity be cut off; in the generation following let their name be blotted out.
Que ses descendants soient voués à la ruine, et que leur nom soit effacé à la seconde génération!
14 Let the iniquity of his fathers be brought to remembrance unto the LORD; and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.
Que l'iniquité de ses pères reste en souvenir devant Yahweh, et que la faute de leur mère ne soit point effacée!
15 Let them be before the LORD continually, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth.
Qu'elles soient toujours devant Yahweh, et qu'il retranche de la terre leur mémoire!
16 Because that he remembered not to do kindness, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and the broken in heart he was ready to slay.
Parce qu'il ne s'est pas souvenu d'exercer la miséricorde, parce qu'il a persécuté le malheureux et l'indigent, et l'homme au cœur brisé pour le faire mourir.
17 Yea, he loved cursing, and it came unto him; and he delighted not in blessing, and it is far from him.
Il aimait la malédiction: elle tombe sur lui; il dédaignait la bénédiction: elle s'éloigne de lui.
18 He clothed himself also with cursing as with his raiment, and it is come into his inward parts like water, and like oil into his bones.
Il s'est revêtu de la malédiction comme d'un vêtement; comme l'eau elle entre au-dedans de lui, et comme l'huile elle pénètre dans ses os.
19 Let it be unto him as the garment which he putteth on, and for the girdle wherewith he is girded continually.'
Qu'elle soit pour lui le vêtement qui l'enveloppe, la ceinture qui ne cesse de l'entourer!
20 This would mine adversaries effect from the LORD, and they that speak evil against my soul.
Tel soit, de la part de Yahweh le salaire de mes adversaires, et de ceux qui parlent méchamment contre moi.
21 But Thou, O GOD the Lord, deal with me for Thy name's sake; because Thy mercy is good, deliver Thou me.
Et toi, Seigneur Yahweh, prends ma défense à cause de ton nom; dans ta grande bonté, délivre-moi.
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
Car je suis malheureux et indigent, et mon cœur est blessé au-dedans de moi.
23 I am gone like the shadow when it lengtheneth; I am shaken off as the locust.
Je m'en vais comme l'ombre à son déclin, je suis emporté comme la sauterelle.
24 My knees totter through fasting; and my flesh is lean, and hath no fatness.
A force de jeûne mes genoux chancellent, et mon corps est épuisé de maigreur.
25 I am become also a taunt unto them; when they see me, they shake their head.
Je suis pour eux un objet d'opprobre; ils me regardent et branlent de la tête.
26 Help me, O LORD my God; O save me according to Thy mercy;
Secours-moi, Yahweh, mon Dieu! Sauve-moi dans ta bonté!
27 That they may know that this is Thy hand; that Thou, LORD, hast done it.
Qu'ils sachent que c'est ta main, que c'est toi, Yahweh, qui l'a fait!
28 Let them curse, but bless Thou; when they arise, they shall be put to shame, but Thy servant shall rejoice.
Eux, ils maudissent; mais toi, tu béniras; ils se lèvent, mais ils seront confondus, et ton serviteur sera dans la joie.
29 Mine adversaries shall be clothed with confusion, and shall put on their own shame as a robe.
Mes adversaires seront revêtus d'ignominie, ils seront enveloppés de leur honte comme d'un manteau.
30 I will give great thanks unto the LORD with my mouth; yea, I will praise Him among the multitude;
Mes lèvres loueront hautement Yahweh; je le célébrerai au milieu de la multitude;
31 Because He standeth at the right hand of the needy, to save him from them that judge his soul.
car il se tient à la droite du pauvre, pour le sauver de ceux qui le condamnent.
