Leviticus 12

1 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying:

Habló Yahvé a Moisés y dijo:

2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying: If a woman be delivered, and bear a man-child, then she shall be unclean seven days; as in the days of the impurity of her sickness shall she be unclean.

“Habla a los hijos de Israel y diles: Cuando una mujer dé a luz y tenga un hijo varón, quedará impura siete días; quedará impura conforme a los días de la impureza de su menstruación.

3 And in the eighth day the flesh of his foreskin shall be circumcised.

Al octavo día será circuncidado el niño en la carne de su prepucio;

4 And she shall continue in the blood of purification three and thirty days; she shall touch no hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary, until the days of her purification be fulfilled.

ella, empero, permanecerá todavía treinta y tres días en la sangre de su purificación. No tocará ninguna cosa santa ni irá al Santuario hasta cumplirse los días de su purificación.

5 But if she bear a maid-child, then she shall be unclean two weeks, as in her impurity; and she shall continue in the blood of purification threescore and six days.

Mas si da a luz una hija, quedará inmunda dos semanas, como en su menstruación, y permanecerá sesenta y seis días más en la sangre de su purificación.

6 And when the days of her purification are fulfilled, for a son, or for a daughter, she shall bring a lamb of the first year for a burnt-offering, and a young pigeon, or a turtle-dove, for a sin-offering, unto the door of the tent of meeting, unto the priest.

Al cumplirse los días de su purificación, por hijo o por hija, presentará al sacerdote, a la entrada del Tabernáculo de la Reunión, un cordero primal para holocausto, y un palomino o una tórtola para sacrificio por el pecado.

7 And he shall offer it before the LORD, and make atonement for her; and she shall be cleansed from the fountain of her blood. This is the law for her that beareth, whether a male or a female.

El (sacerdote) los ofrecerá ante Yahvé, haciendo expiación por ella, y quedará purificada del flujo de su sangre. Esta es la ley referente a la mujer que da a luz hijo o hija.

8 And if her means suffice not for a lamb, then she shall take two turtle-doves, or two young pigeons: the one for a burnt-offering, and the other for a sin-offering; and the priest shall make atonement for her, and she shall be clean.

Mas si ella no tiene lo suficiente como para presentar un cordero, tome dos tórtolas o dos palominos, uno para holocausto y otro para sacrificio por el pecado; y el sacerdote hará expiación por ella, y quedará pura.”
