Psalms 91
1 Who so dwelleth in the secrete of the most High, shall abide in the shadowe of the Almightie.
Wer im Schirm [Eig. im Verborgenen] des Höchsten sitzt, wird bleiben im Schatten des Allmächtigen.
2 I will say vnto the Lord, O mine hope, and my fortresse: he is my God, in him will I trust.
Ich sage von [O. zu] Jehova: Meine Zuflucht und meine Burg; mein Gott, auf ihn will ich vertrauen. [O. auf den ich vertraue]
3 Surely he will deliuer thee from the snare of the hunter, and from the noysome pestilence.
Denn er wird dich erretten von der Schlinge des Vogelstellers, von der verderblichen Pest.
4 Hee will couer thee vnder his winges, and thou shalt be sure vnder his feathers: his trueth shall be thy shielde and buckler.
Mit seinen Fittichen wird er dich decken, und du wirst Zuflucht finden unter seinen Flügeln; Schild und Tartsche ist seine Wahrheit.
5 Thou shalt not be afraide of the feare of the night, nor of the arrowe that flyeth by day:
Du wirst dich nicht fürchten vor dem Schrecken der Nacht, vor dem Pfeile, der bei Tage fliegt,
6 Nor of the pestilence that walketh in the darkenesse: nor of the plague that destroyeth at noone day.
Vor der Pest, die im Finstern wandelt, vor der Seuche, die am Mittag verwüstet.
7 A thousand shall fall at thy side, and tenne thousand at thy right hand, but it shall not come neere thee.
Tausend werden fallen an deiner Seite, und zehntausend an deiner Rechten-dich wird es nicht erreichen.
8 Doubtlesse with thine eyes shalt thou beholde and see the reward of the wicked.
Nur schauen wirst du es mit deinen Augen, und wirst sehen die Vergeltung der Gesetzlosen.
9 For thou hast said, The Lord is mine hope: thou hast set the most High for thy refuge.
Weil du Jehova, meine Zuflucht, den Höchsten, gesetzt hast [O. Denn du, Jehova, bist meine Zuflucht. -Du hast den Höchsten gesetzt usw.] zu deiner Wohnung,
10 There shall none euill come vnto thee, neither shall any plague come neere thy tabernacle.
So wird dir kein Unglück widerfahren, und keine Plage deinem Zelte nahen;
11 For hee shall giue his Angels charge ouer thee to keepe thee in all thy wayes.
Denn er wird seinen Engeln über dir befehlen, dich zu bewahren auf allen deinen Wegen.
12 They shall beare thee in their handes, that thou hurt not thy foote against a stone.
Auf den Händen werden sie dich tragen, damit du deinen Fuß nicht an einen Stein stoßest.
13 Thou shalt walke vpon the lyon and aspe: the yong lyon and the dragon shalt thou treade vnder feete.
Auf Löwen und Ottern wirst du treten, junge Löwen und Schlangen wirst du niedertreten.
14 Because he hath loued me, therefore will I deliuer him: I will exalt him because hee hath knowen my Name.
Weil er Wonne an mir hat, [W. Weil er an mir hängt] will ich ihn erretten; ich will ihn in Sicherheit setzen, weil er meinen Namen kennt.
15 He shall call vpon me, and I wil heare him: I will be with him in trouble: I will deliuer him, and glorifie him.
Er wird mich anrufen, und ich werde ihm antworten, ich werde bei ihm sein in der Bedrängnis; ich werde ihn befreien und ihn verherrlichen.
16 With long life wil I satisfie him, and shew him my saluation.
Ich werde ihn sättigen mit Länge des Lebens [W. der Tage] und ihn schauen lassen meine Rettung. [O. mein Heil]
