Psalms 106
1 Praise ye the Lord. Praise ye the Lord because he is good, for his mercie endureth for euer.
Hallelúja! Adjatok hálát az Örökkévalónak, mert jóságos, mert örökké tart a kegyelme.
2 Who can expresse the noble actes of the Lord, or shewe forth all his prayse?
Ki mondhatja el az Örökkévaló hatalmas tetteit, hirdetheti minden dicséretét?
3 Blessed are they that keepe iudgement, and doe righteousnesse at all times.
Boldogok, akik megőrzik a jogot, aki igazságot mível minden időben.
4 Remember me, O Lord, with the fauour of thy people: visite me with thy saluation,
Emlékezzél reám, Örökkévaló, a néped iránt való kedvességgel, gondolj reám a te segítségeddel,
5 That I may see the felicitie of thy chosen, and reioyce in the ioy of thy people, and glorie with thine inheritance.
hogy láthassam választottaid jólétét, hogy örüljek nemzeted örömén, hogy dicsekedjem birtokoddal együtt.
6 We haue sinned with our fathers: we haue committed iniquitie, and done wickedly.
Vétkeztünk, őseinkkel együtt, bűnt követtünk el, gonoszul cselekedtünk.
7 Our fathers vnderstoode not thy wonders in Egypt, neither remembred they the multitude of thy mercies, but rebelled at the Sea, euen at the red sea.
Őseink Egyiptomban nem fogták föl csodatetteidet, nem emlékeztek kegyeid bőségére s engedetlenkedtek a tenger mellett, a nádastengernél.
8 Neuerthelesse he saued them for his Names sake, that he might make his power to be knowen.
Megsegítette őket neve kedvéért, hogy tudassa hatalmát.
9 And he rebuked the red Sea, and it was dryed vp, and he led them in the deepe, as in the wildernesse.
Megdorgálta a nádastengert és kiszáradt s vezette őket mélységekben, akár a pusztában.
10 And he saued them from ye aduersaries hand, and deliuered them from ye hand of the enemie.
Megsegítette őket gyülölőnek kezéből, megváltotta őket ellenségnek kezéből;
11 And the waters couered their oppressours: not one of them was left.
vizek borították be szorongatóikat, egy sem maradt meg közülök.
12 Then beleeued they his wordes, and sang prayse vnto him.
És hittek szavaiban, énekelték dicséretét.
13 But incontinently they forgate his workes: they wayted not for his counsell,
Hamar felejtették el tetteit, nem várták be határozatát:
14 But lusted with concupiscence in the wildernes, and tempted God in the desert.
vágygyal vágyakoztak a pusztában, s megkísértették Istent a sivatagban;
15 Then he gaue them their desire: but he sent leannesse into their soule.
meg is adta nekik kérésöket, de soványságot bocsátott lelkökre.
16 They enuied Moses also in the tentes, and Aaron the holy one of the Lord.
Felbuzdúltak Mózes ellen a táborban, Áron, az Örökkévaló szentje ellen.
17 Therefore the earth opened and swallowed vp Dathan, and couered the companie of Abiram.
Megnyílt a föld s elnyelte Dátánt, s befödte Abírám községét;
18 And the fire was kindled in their assembly: the flame burnt vp the wicked.
tűz égett községük között, láng lobbasztotta el a gonoszokat.
19 They made a calfe in Horeb, and worshipped the molten image.
készítettek borjút a Chórébnél, s leborultak öntött kép előtt.
20 Thus they turned their glory into the similitude of a bullocke, that eateth grasse.
Felcserélték dicsőségöket, képmásával ökörnek, füvet evőnek.
21 They forgate God their Sauiour, which had done great things in Egypt,
Elfelejtették Istent, segítőjüket, ki nagyokat mívelt Egyiptomban,
22 Wonderous woorkes in the lande of Ham, and fearefull things by the red Sea.
csodás tetteket Chám földjén, félelmeteseket a nádastenger mellett.
23 Therefore he minded to destroy them, had not Moses his chosen stand in the breach before him to turne away his wrath, least he shoulde destroy them.
Kimondta, hogy megsemmisíti őket, hacsak Mózes az ő választottja nem áll a résben előtte, hogy elfordítsa hevét, nehogy rontson.
24 Also they contemned that pleasant land, and beleeued not his worde,
Megvetették a gyönyörűséges országot, nem hittek igéjének;
25 But murmured in their tentes, and hearkened not vnto the voice of the Lord.
zúgolódtak sátraikban, nem hallgattak az Örökkévaló szavára.
26 Therefore hee lifted vp his hande against them, to destroy them in the wildernesse,
Akkor kezet emelt felőlük, hogy elejti őket a pusztában,
27 And to destroy their seede among the nations, and to scatter them throughout the countries.
s hogy magzatukat a nemzetek közé ejti, s hogy szétszórja őket az országokban.
28 They ioyned themselues also vnto Baalpeor, and did eate the offrings of the dead.
Csatlakoztak Báal-Peórhoz és ették halottaknak áldozatait;
29 Thus they prouoked him vnto anger with their owne inuentions, and the plague brake in vpon them.
bosszantották cselekedeteikkel és csapás tört ki köztük.
30 But Phinehas stoode vp, and executed iudgement, and the plague was staied.
Akkor odaállt Pínechász s ítéletet tett és elállt a csapás;
31 And it was imputed vnto him for righteousnes from generation to generation for euer.
betudatott az neki igazságul nemzedékre meg nemzedékre örökké.
32 They angred him also at the waters of Meribah, so that Moses was punished for their sakes,
Megharagították a pörlekedés vizénél, s rosszul járt Mózes ő miattuk,
33 Because they vexed his spirite, so that hee spake vnaduisedly with his lippes.
mert engedetlenkedtek szelleme iránt, s elszólta magát ajkaival.
34 Neither destroied they the people, as the Lord had commanded them,
Nem semmisítették meg a népeket, melyeket mondott nekik az Örökkévaló;
35 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their workes,
hanem összevegyültek a nemzetekkel s eltanulták tetteiket.
36 And serued their idoles, which were their ruine.
Szolgálták bálványaikat, úgy hogy tőrül lettek nekik;
37 Yea, they offered their sonnes, and their daughters vnto deuils,
áldozták fiaikat és leányaikat a gonosz szellemeknek.
38 And shed innocent blood, euen the blood of their sonnes, and of their daughters, whome they offred vnto the idoles of Canaan, and the lande was defiled with blood.
Ártatlan vért ontottak, fiaik és leányaik vérét, akiket áldoztak Kanaán bálványainak, úgy hogy fertőzötté lett az ország a vérbűntől.
39 Thus were they steined with their owne woorkes, and went a whoring with their owne inuentions.
Tisztátalanokká lettek tetteik által s paráználkodtak cselekedeteikkel.
40 Therefore was the wrath of the Lord kindled against his people, and he abhorred his owne inheritance.
És föllobbant az Örökkévaló haragja népe ellen, s megútálta birtokát;
41 And hee gaue them into the hande of the heathen: and they that hated them, were lordes ouer them.
adta őket nemzetek kezébe, s uralkodtak rajtuk gyülölőik,
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were humbled vnder their hand.
szorították őket ellenségeik s megalázkodtak kezök alatt.
43 Many a time did hee deliuer them, but they prouoked him by their counsels: therefore they were brought downe by their iniquitie.
Sok ízben mentette meg őket, de ők engedetlenkedtek öntanácsuk szerint s összeroskadtak bűnükben.
44 Yet hee sawe when they were in affliction, and he heard their crie.
De látta szorultságukat, midőn meghallotta fohászukat;
45 And he remembred his couenant towarde them and repented according to the multitude of his mercies,
s megemlékezett számukra szövetségéről és sajnálkozott kegyeinek bősége szerint,
46 And gaue them fauour in the sight of all them that lead them captiues.
s adta őket irgalomra mind a foglyulejtőik előtt.
47 Saue vs, O Lord our God, and gather vs from among the heathen, that we may praise thine holy Name, and glorie in thy praise.
Segíts meg minket, Örökkévaló, Istenünk, s gyűjts össze a nemzetek közül, hogy hálát adjunk szent nevednek, hogy magasztalódjunk dicséreteddel!
48 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel for euer and euer, and let all the people say, So be it. Praise yee the Lord.
Áldva legyen az Örökkévaló, Izraél Istene, öröktől fogva örökké. S mondja az egész nép: Ámen! Hallelúja!
