Matthew 5
1 And when he sawe the multitude, he went vp into a mountaine: and when he was set, his disciples came to him.
E Jesus, vendo a multidão, subiu a um monte, e, assentando-se, approximaram-se d'elle os seus discipulos:
2 And he opened his mouth and taught them, saying,
E, abrindo a sua bocca, os ensinava, dizendo:
3 Blessed are the poore in spirit, for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.
Bemaventurados os pobres de espirito, porque d'elles é o reino dos céus;
4 Blessed are they that mourne: for they shall be comforted.
Bemaventurados os que choram, porque elles serão consolados;
5 Blessed are the meeke: for they shall inherite the earth.
Bemaventurados os mansos, porque elles herdarão a terra;
6 Blessed are they which hunger and thirst for righteousnes: for they shalbe filled.
Bemaventurados os que teem fome e sêde de justiça, porque elles serão fartos;
7 Blessed are the mercifull: for they shall obteine mercie.
Bemaventurados os misericordiosos, porque elles alcançarão misericordia;
8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Bemaventurados os limpos de coração, porque elles verão a Deus;
9 Blessed are the peace makers: for they shall be called the children of God.
Bemaventurados os pacificadores, porque elles serão chamados filhos de Deus;
10 Blessed are they which suffer persecution for righteousnes sake: for theirs is the kingdome of heauen.
Bemaventurados os que soffrem perseguição por causa da justiça, porque d'elles é o reino dos céus;
11 Blessed shall ye be when men reuile you, and persecute you, and say all maner of euill against you for my sake, falsely.
Bemaventurados sois vós, quando vos injuriarem e perseguirem, e, mentindo, fallarem todo o mal contra vós por minha causa.
12 Reioyce and be glad, for great is your reward in heauen: for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you.
Exultae e alegrae-vos, porque é grande o vosso galardão nos céus; porque assim perseguiram os prophetas que foram antes de vós.
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt haue lost his sauour, wherewith shall it be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be troden vnder foote of men.
Vós sois o sal da terra; e se o sal fôr insipido, com que se ha de salgar? para nada mais presta senão para se lançar fóra, e ser pisado pelos homens.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A citie that is set on an hill, cannot be hid.
Vós sois a luz do mundo: não se pode esconder uma cidade edificada sobre um monte,
15 Neither doe men light a candel, and put it vnder a bushel, but on a candlesticke, and it giueth light vnto all that are in the house.
Nem se accende a candeia e se colloca debaixo do alqueire, mas no velador, e dá luz a todos que estão na casa.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your Father which is in heauen.
Assim resplandeça a vossa luz diante dos homens, para que vejam as vossas boas obras, e glorifiquem a vosso Pae, que está nos céus.
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the Lawe, or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them.
Não cuideis que vim destruir a lei ou os prophetas: não vim a derogar, mas a cumprir.
18 For truely I say vnto you, Till heauen, and earth perish, one iote or one title of the Law shall not scape, till all things be fulfilled.
Porque em verdade vos digo, que, até que o céu e a terra passem, nem um jota nem um só til se omittirá da lei, sem que tudo seja cumprido.
19 Whosoeuer therefore shall breake one of these least commandements, and teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdome of heauen: but whosoeuer shall obserue and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdome of heauen.
Qualquer pois que violar um d'estes mais pequenos mandamentos, e assim ensinar aos homens, será chamado o menor no reino dos céus; aquelle, porém, que os cumprir e ensinar será chamado grande no reino dos céus.
20 For I say vnto you, except your righteousnes exceede the righteousnes of the Scribes and Pharises, ye shall not enter into the kingdome of heauen.
Porque vos digo que, se a vossa justiça não exceder a dos escribas e phariseos, de modo nenhum entrareis no reino dos céus.
21 Ye haue heard that it was sayd vnto them of the olde time, Thou shalt not kill: for whosoeuer killeth shalbe culpable of iudgement.
Ouvistes que foi dito aos antigos: Não matarás; mas qualquer que matar será réu de juizo.
22 But I say vnto you, whosoeuer is angry with his brother vnaduisedly, shalbe culpable of iudgment. And whosoeuer sayth vnto his brother, Raca, shalbe worthy to be punished by the Councill. And whosoeuer shall say, Foole, shalbe worthy to be punished with hell fire. (Geenna g1067)
Eu vos digo, porém, que qualquer que, sem motivo, se encolerisar contra seu irmão, será réu de juizo; e qualquer que disser a seu irmão: Raca, será réu do synhedrio; qualquer que lhe disser: Louco, será réu do fogo do inferno. (Geenna g1067)
23 If then thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembrest that thy brother hath ought against thee,
Portanto, se trouxeres a tua offerta ao altar, e ahi te lembrares de que teu irmão tem alguma coisa contra ti,
24 Leaue there thine offring before the altar, and goe thy way: first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Deixa ali diante do altar a tua offerta, e vae, reconcilia-te primeiro com teu irmão, e depois vem e apresenta a tua offerta.
25 Agree with thine aduersarie quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him, lest thine aduersarie deliuer thee to the Iudge, and the Iudge deliuer thee to ye sergeant, and thou be cast into prison.
Concilia-te depressa com o teu adversario, emquanto estás no caminho com elle, para que não aconteça que o adversario te entregue ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao ministro, e te encerrem na prisão.
26 Verely I say vnto thee, thou shalt not come out thence, till thou hast payed the vtmost farthing.
Em verdade te digo que de maneira nenhuma sairás d'ali emquanto não pagares o ultimo ceitil.
27 Ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of olde time, Thou shalt not commit adulterie.
Ouvistes que foi dito aos antigos: Não commetterás adulterio.
28 But I say vnto you, that whosoeuer looketh on a woman to lust after her, hath committed adulterie with her already in his heart.
Eu vos digo, porém, que qualquer que attentar n'uma mulher para a cobiçar, já em seu coração commetteu adulterio com ella
29 Wherefore if thy right eye cause thee to offend, plucke it out, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee, that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
Portanto, se o teu olho direito te escandalizar, arranca-o e atira-o para longe de ti, pois te é melhor que se perca um dos teus membros, do que todo o teu corpo seja lançado no inferno. (Geenna g1067)
30 Also if thy right hand make thee to offend, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for better it is for thee that one of thy members perish, then that thy whole body should be cast into hell. (Geenna g1067)
E, se a tua mão direita te escandalizar, corta-a e atira-a para longe de ti, porque te é melhor que um dos teus membros se perca, do que todo o teu corpo seja lançado no inferno. (Geenna g1067)
31 It hath bene sayd also, Whosoeuer shall put away his wife, let him giue her a bill of diuorcement.
Tambem foi dito: Qualquer que deixar sua mulher, dê-lhe carta de desquite.
32 But I say vnto you, whosoeuer shall put away his wife (except it be for fornication) causeth her to commit adulterie: and whosoeuer shall marrie her that is diuorced, committeth adulterie.
Eu, porém, vos digo que qualquer que repudiar sua mulher, sem ser por causa de fornicação, faz que ella commetta adulterio, e qualquer que casar com a repudiada commette adulterio.
33 Againe, ye haue heard that it was sayd to them of old time, Thou shalt not forsweare thy selfe, but shalt performe thine othes to the Lord.
Outrosim, ouvistes que foi dito aos antigos: Não perjurarás, mas cumprirás teus juramentos ao Senhor.
34 But I say vnto you, Sweare not at all, neither by heauen, for it is the throne of God:
Eu vos digo, porém, que de maneira nenhuma jureis: nem pelo céu, porque é o throno de Deus;
35 Nor yet by the earth: for it is his footestoole: neither by Hierusalem: for it is the citie of the great King.
Nem pela terra, porque é o escabello de seus pés; nem por Jerusalem, porque é a cidade do grande Rei;
36 Neither shalt thou sweare by thine head, because thou canst not make one heare white or blacke.
Nem jurarás pela tua cabeça, porque não podes fazer um cabello branco ou preto.
37 But let your communication be Yea, yea: Nay, nay. For whatsoeuer is more then these, commeth of euill.
Seja, porém, o vosso fallar: Sim, sim, Não, não, porque o que passa d'isto é de procedencia maligna.
38 Ye haue heard that it hath bene sayd, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.
Ouvistes que foi dito: Olho por olho, e dente por dente.
39 But I say vnto you, Resist not euill: but whosoeuer shall smite thee on thy right cheeke, turne to him the other also.
Eu vos digo, porém, que não resistaes ao mal; mas, se qualquer te bater na face direita, offerece-lhe tambem a outra;
40 And if any man wil sue thee at the law, and take away thy coate, let him haue thy cloke also.
E ao que quizer pleitear comtigo, e tirar-te o vestido, larga-lhe tambem a capa;
41 And whosoeuer will compell thee to goe a mile, goe with him twaine.
E, se qualquer te obrigar a caminhar uma milha, vae com elle duas.
42 Giue to him that asketh, and from him that would borowe of thee, turne not away.
Dá a quem te pedir, e não te desvies d'aquelle que quizer que lhe emprestes.
43 Ye haue heard that it hath bin said, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour, and hate your enemie.
Ouvistes que foi dito: Amarás o teu proximo, e aborrecerás o teu inimigo.
44 But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies: blesse them that curse you: doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which hurt you, and persecute you,
Eu vos digo, porém: Amae a vossos inimigos, bemdizei os que vos maldizem, fazei bem aos que vos odeiam, e orae pelos que vos maltratam e vos perseguem;
45 That ye may be the children of your father that is in heauen: for he maketh his sunne to arise on the euill, and the good, and sendeth raine on the iust, and vniust.
Para que sejaes filhos do vosso Pae que está nos céus; porque faz que o seu sol se levante sobre os maus e os bons, e a chuva desça sobre os justos e os injustos.
46 For if ye loue them, which loue you, what rewarde shall you haue? Doe not the Publicanes euen the same?
Pois, se amardes os que vos amam, que galardão havereis? não fazem os publicanos tambem o mesmo?
47 And if ye be friendly to your brethren onely, what singular thing doe ye? doe not euen the Publicanes likewise?
E, se saudardes unicamente os vossos irmãos, que fazeis de mais? não fazem os publicanos tambem assim?
48 Ye shall therefore be perfit, as your Father which is in heauen, is perfite.
Sêde vós pois perfeitos, como é perfeito o vosso Pae que está nos céus.
