Job 22
1 Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered, and sayde,
Então Elifaz, o Temanita, respondeu,
2 May a man be profitable vnto God, as he that is wise, may be profitable to himselfe?
“Um homem pode ser rentável para Deus? Certamente aquele que é sábio é rentável para si mesmo.
3 Is it any thing vnto the Almightie, that thou art righteous? or is it profitable to him, that thou makest thy wayes vpright?
É algum prazer para o Todo-Poderoso que você seja justo? Ou é benéfico para ele que você faça seus caminhos perfeitos?
4 Is it for feare of thee that he will accuse thee? or go with thee into iudgement?
É por sua piedade que ele o reprova, que ele entra com você em julgamento?
5 Is not thy wickednes great, and thine iniquities innumerable?
Sua perversidade não é grande? Também não há fim para suas iniqüidades.
6 For thou hast taken the pledge from thy brother for nought, and spoyled the clothes of the naked.
Pois você aceitou promessas de seu irmão por nada, e despiram a roupa nua.
7 To such as were wearie, thou hast not giuen water to drinke, and hast withdrawen bread from the hungrie.
Você não deu água ao cansado para beber, e você tem retido o pão dos famintos.
8 But the mightie man had the earth, and he that was in autoritie, dwelt in it.
Mas, quanto ao homem poderoso, ele tinha a terra. O homem honrado, ele viveu nele.
9 Thou hast cast out widowes emptie, and the armes of the fatherles were broken.
Você mandou viúvas embora vazias, e os braços dos sem pai foram quebrados.
10 Therefore snares are round about thee, and feare shall suddenly trouble thee:
Portanto, as armadilhas estão ao seu redor. O medo repentino o perturba,
11 Or darkenes that thou shouldest not see, and abundance of waters shall couer thee.
ou escuridão, de modo que você não possa ver, e enchentes de águas o cobrem.
12 Is not God on hie in the heauen? and behold the height of the starres how hie they are.
“Deus não está nas alturas do céu? Veja a altura das estrelas, como elas são altas!
13 But thou sayest, How should God know? can he iudge through the darke cloude?
Você diz: 'O que Deus sabe? Ele pode julgar através da escuridão espessa?
14 The cloudes hide him that he can not see, and he walketh in the circle of heauen.
As nuvens grossas são uma cobertura para ele, para que ele não veja. Ele caminha sobre o cofre do céu'.
15 Hast thou marked the way of the worlde, wherein wicked men haue walked?
Você manterá o caminho antigo, que os homens malvados pisaram,
16 Which were cut downe before the time, whose foundation was as a riuer that ouerflowed:
que foram arrancados antes de seu tempo, cuja fundação foi despejada como um riacho,
17 Which sayd vnto God, Depart from vs, and asked what the Almightie could do for them.
que disse a Deus, “Parta de nós! e, “O que o Todo-Poderoso pode fazer por nós?
18 Yet hee filled their houses with good things: but let the counsell of the wicked be farre from me.
Yet ele encheu suas casas de coisas boas, mas o conselho dos malvados está longe de mim.
19 The righteous shall see them, and shall reioyce, and the innocent shall laugh them to scorne.
Os justos o vêem e estão contentes. Os inocentes os ridicularizam,
20 Surely our substance is hid: but the fire hath deuoured the remnant of them.
saying, 'Certamente aqueles que se levantaram contra nós estão cortados'. O fogo consumiu seu remanescente”.
21 Therefore acquaint thy selfe, I pray thee, with him, and make peace: thereby thou shalt haue prosperitie.
“Familiarize-se com ele agora e fique em paz. Por ela, a boa vontade virá até você.
22 Receiue, I pray thee, the law of his mouth, and lay vp his words in thine heart.
Por favor, receba instruções de sua boca, e deposite suas palavras em seu coração.
23 If thou returne to the Almightie, thou shalt be buylt vp, and thou shalt put iniquitie farre from thy tabernacle.
Se você voltar para o Todo-Poderoso, você será construído, se você afastar a injustiça de suas tendas.
24 Thou shalt lay vp golde for dust, and the gold of Ophir, as the flintes of the riuers.
Coloque seu tesouro na poeira, o ouro de Ophir entre as pedras dos riachos.
25 Yea, the Almightie shalbe thy defence, and thou shalt haue plentie of siluer.
O Todo-Poderoso será seu tesouro, e prata preciosa para você.
26 And thou shalt then delite in the Almightie, and lift vp thy face vnto God.
Pois então você se deleitará com o Todo-Poderoso, e erguerá seu rosto para Deus.
27 Thou shalt make thy praier vnto him, and he shall heare thee, and thou shalt render thy vowes.
Você fará sua oração a ele, e ele o ouvirá. Você pagará seus votos.
28 Thou shalt also decree a thing, and he shall establish it vnto thee, and the light shall shine vpon thy wayes.
Você também decretará uma coisa, e ela será estabelecida para você. A luz vai brilhar em seus caminhos.
29 When others are cast downe, then shalt thou say, I am lifted vp: and God shall saue the humble person.
Quando eles se abaixarem, você dirá: “sejam levantados”. Ele salvará a pessoa humilde.
30 The innocent shall deliuer the yland, and it shalbe preserued by the purenes of thine hands.
He entregará até mesmo aquele que não é inocente. Sim, ele será entregue através da limpeza de suas mãos”.
