2 Corinthians 1

1 Pavl an Apostle of JESVS Christ, by the will of God, and our brother Timotheus, to the Church of God, which is at Corinthus with all the Saints, which are in all Achaia:

Paulo, apostolo de Jesus Christo, pela vontade de Deus, e o irmão Timotheo, á egreja de Deus, que está em Corintho, com todos os sanctos que estão em toda a Achaia:

2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.

Graça e paz de Deus nosso Pae e do Senhor Jesus Christo.

3 Blessed be God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort,

Bemdito seja o Deus e Pae de nosso Senhor Jesus Christo, o Pae das misericordias e o Deus de toda a consolação;

4 Which comforteth vs in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any affliction by the comfort wherewith we our selues are comforted of God.

Que nos consola em toda a nossa tribulação, para que tambem possamos consolar os que estiverem em alguma tribulação, com a consolação com que nós mesmos somos consolados de Deus.

5 For as the sufferings of Christ abounde in vs, so our consolation aboundeth through Christ.

Porque, como as afflicções de Christo abundam em nós, assim tambem a nossa consolação abunda por Christo.

6 And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and saluation, which is wrought in the induring of the same sufferings, which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and saluation.

Mas, se somos attribulados é para vossa consolação e salvação, ou, se somos consolados, para vossa consolação e salvação é, a qual se opéra na tolerancia das mesmas afflicções que nós tambem padecemos;

7 And our hope is stedfast concerning you, in as much as we know that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

E a nossa esperança ácerca de vós é firme, sabendo que, como sois participantes das afflicções, assim o sereis tambem da consolação.

8 For brethren, we woulde not haue you ignorant of our affliction, which came vnto vs in Asia, howe we were pressed out of measure passing strength, so that we altogether doubted, euen of life.

Porque não queremos, irmãos, que ignoreis a tribulação que nos sobreveiu na Asia, pois que fomos sobremaneira aggravados mais do que podiamos supportar, de modo tal que até da vida estivemos em grande duvida.

9 Yea, we receiued the sentence of death in our selues, because we shoulde not trust in our selues, but in God, which rayseth the dead.

De modo que já em nós mesmos tinhamos a sentença de morte, para que não confiassemos em nós mesmos, mas em Deus, que resuscita os mortos:

10 Who deliuered vs from so great a death, and doeth deliuer vs: in whom we trust, that yet hereafter he will deliuer vs,

O qual nos livrou de tão grande morte, e livra ainda, no qual esperamos que ainda tambem nos livrará.

11 So that ye labour together in prayer for vs, that for the gift bestowed vpon vs for many, thankes may be giuen by many persons for vs.

Ajudando-nos tambem vós com oração por nós, para que pela mercê, que por muitas pessoas nos foi feita, por muitas tambem sejam dadas graças a nosso respeito.

12 For our reioycing is this, the testimonie of our conscience, that in simplicitie and godly purenesse, and not in fleshly wisedome, but by the grace of God wee haue had our conuersation in the worlde, and most of all to you wardes.

Porque a nossa gloria é esta: o testemunho da nossa consciencia, de que com simplicidade e sinceridade de Deus, não com sabedoria carnal, mas com graça de Deus, temos vivido no mundo, e maiormente comvosco.

13 For wee write none other thinges vnto you, then that ye reade or els that ye acknowledge, and I trust ye shall acknowledge vnto ye end.

Porque nenhumas outras coisas vos escrevemos, senão as que já sabeis ou tambem reconheceis; e espero que tambem até ao fim as reconhecereis.

14 Euen as ye haue acknowledged vs partly, that we are your reioycing, euen as ye are ours, in the day of our Lord Iesus.

Como tambem já em parte nos tendes reconhecido, que somos a vossa gloria, como tambem vós sereis a nossa no dia do Senhor Jesus.

15 And in this confidence was I minded first to come vnto you, that ye might haue had a double grace,

E com esta confiança quiz primeiro ir ter comvosco, para que tivesseis uma segunda graça;

16 And to passe by you into Macedonia, and to come againe out of Macedonia vnto you, and to be led foorth towarde Iudea of you.

E por vós passar á Macedonia, e da Macedonia ir outra vez ter comvosco, e ser guiado por vós á Judea.

17 When I therefore was thus minded, did I vse lightnesse? or minde I those thinges which I minde, according to the flesh, that with me should be, Yea, yea, and Nay, nay?

Assim que, deliberando isto, usei porventura de leviandade? Ou o que delibero, o delibero porventura segundo a carne, para que haja em mim sim sim, e não não?

18 Yea, God is faithfull, that our worde towarde you was not Yea, and Nay.

Antes Deus é fiel, e sabe que a nossa palavra para comvosco não foi sim e não.

19 For the Sonne of God Iesus Christ, who was preached among you by vs, that is, by me, and Siluanus, and Timotheus, was not Yea, and Nay: but in him it was Yea.

Porque o Filho de Deus, Jesus Christo, que por nós foi prégado entre vós, a saber, por mim, e Silvano, e Timotheo, não foi sim e não; mas n'elle houve sim.

20 For all the promises of God in him are Yea, and are in him Amen, vnto the glorie of God through vs.

Porque todas quantas promessas ha de Deus, são n'elle sim, e n'elle Amen, para gloria de Deus por nós.

21 And it is God which stablisheth vs with you in Christ, and hath anoynted vs.

Mas o que nos confirma comvosco em Christo, e o que nos ungiu, é Deus:

22 Who hath also sealed vs, and hath giuen the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

O qual tambem nos sellou e deu o penhor do Espirito em nossos corações.

23 Nowe, I call God for a recorde vnto my soule, that to spare you, I came not as yet vnto Corinthus.

Porém invoco a Deus por testemunha sobre a minha alma, que para vos poupar não tenho até agora ido a Corintho;

24 Not that wee haue dominion ouer your faith, but wee are helpers of your ioy: for by faith yee stande.

Não que tenhamos dominio sobre a vossa fé, mas porque somos cooperadores de vosso gozo; porque pela fé estaes em pé
