2 Chronicles 35

1 Moreouer Iosiah kept a Passeouer vnto the Lord in Ierusalem, and they slewe the Passeouer in the fourtenth day of the first moneth.

Josias hielt nun in Jerusalem dem Herrn ein Passah. Am vierzehnten Tage des ersten Monats schlachtete man das Passah.

2 And he appointed the Priestes to their charges, and incouraged them to the seruice of the house of the Lord,

Er stellte die Priester auf ihre Posten und machte ihnen Mut zum Dienste am Hause des Herrn.

3 And he sayd vnto the Leuites that taught all Israel and were sanctified vnto the Lord, Put the holy Arke in the house which Salomon the sonne of Dauid King of Israel did build: it shalbe no more a burden vpon your shoulders: serue now the Lord your God and his people Israel,

Er sprach zu den Leviten, die ganz Israel belehren sollten und die dem Herrn geweiht waren: "Belasset die heilige Lade im Hause, das Israels König Salomo, Davids Sohn, erbaut hat! Ihr habt nichts mehr auf der Schulter zu tragen. Dient nunmehr dem Herrn, eurem Gott, und seinem Volk Israel!

4 And prepare your selues by the houses of your fathers according to your courses, as Dauid the King of Israel hath written, and according to the writing of Salomon his sonne,

Haltet euch bereit nach euren Familien, nach euren Abteilungen, nach der Schrift Davids, des Königs von Israel, und nach dem Erlaß seines Sohnes Salomo!

5 And stande in the Sanctuarie according to the deuision of the families of your brethren the children of the people, and after the deuision of the familie of the Leuites:

Stellt euch im Heiligtum auf, nach den Gruppen der Familien eurer Brüder, der Leute aus dem Volke, und die Abteilung der Familie der Leviten!

6 So kill the Passeouer and sanctifie your selues, and prepare your brethren that they may doe according to the worde of the Lord by the hand of Moses.

Schlachtet das Passah, zerlegt es und bereitet es für eure Brüder! Tut nach dem Wort des Herrn an Moses!"

7 Iosiah also gaue to the people sheepe, lambs and kiddes, all for the Passeouer, euen to all that were present, to the nomber of thirtie thousand, and three thousande bullocks: these were of the Kings substance.

Josias lieferte den Leviten aus dem Volke Schafe, Lämmer und junge Ziegen, alles zu Passahopfern für alle Anwesenden; 30.000 an Zahl und 3.000 Rinder, diese aus des Königs Eigentum.

8 And his princes offred willingly vnto the people, to the Priests and to the Leuites: Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Iehiel, rulers of the house of God, gaue vnto the Priests for the Passeouer, euen two thousand and sixe hundreth sheepe, and three hundreth bullockes.

Seine Obersten aber lieferten in Menge für das Volk, die Priester und Leviten ab. Die Fürsten des Gotteshauses Chilkia, Zakarjahu und Jechiel gaben für die Priester 2.600 Lämmer und 3.000 Rinder zu Passahopfern.

9 Conaniah also and Shemaiah and Nethaneel his brethren, and Hashabiah and Ieiel, and Iozabad, chiefe of the Leuites gaue vnto the Leuites for the Passeouer, fiue thousand sheepe, and fiue hundreth bullockes.

Konanjahu und seine Brüder Semajahu und Netanel sowie die Levitenobersten Chasabjahu, Jeiel und Jozabad gaben für die Leviten 5.000 Lämmer und 500 Rinder.

10 Thus the seruice was prepared, and the Priests stoode in their places, also the Leuites in their orders, according to the Kings commandement:

So war der Dienst geordnet. Die Priester traten auf ihren Standort und die Leviten in ihre Abteilungen nach des Königs Befehl.

11 And they slewe the Passeouer, and the Priests sprinkled the blood with their handes, and the Leuites flayed them.

Sie schlachteten das Passah, und die Priester sprengten das Blut, während die Leviten die Haut abzogen.

12 And they tooke away from the burnt offering to giue it according to the deuisions of the families of the children of the people, to offer vnto the Lord, as it is written in the booke of Moses, and so of the bullockes.

Sie schieden das Brandopfer aus. Dann gaben sie nach Gruppen den Stammeshäuptern der Leute aus dem Volk, damit sie dem Herrn darbrächten, wie geschrieben ist im Buche Mosis. Ebenso taten sie mit den Rindern.

13 And they rosted the Passeouer with fire, according to ye custome, but the sanctified things they sod in pots, pannes, and cauldrons, and distributed them quickely to all the people.

Dann brieten sie das Passah nach Vorschrift am Feuer. Die heiligen Gaben aber kochten sie in Kesseln, Töpfen und Schüsseln und brachten diese schnell allen Leuten aus dem Volke.

14 Afterwarde also they prepared for them selues and for the Priestes: for the Priestes the sonnes of Aaron were occupied in offering of burnt offrings, and the fat vntill night: therefore the Leuites prepared for them selues, and for the Priests the sonnes of Aaron.

Danach richteten sie für sich und die Priester zu. Denn die Aaronssöhne, die Priester, hatten mit der Darbringung des Brandopfers und der Fettstücke bis in die Nacht hinein zu tun gehabt. So richteten die Leviten für sich und die priesterlichen Aaronssöhne zu.

15 And the singers the sonnes of Asaph stoode in their standing according to the commandement of Dauid, and Asaph, and Heman, and Ieduthun the Kings Seer: and the porters at euery gate, who might not depart from their seruice: therefore their brethren the Leuites prepared for them.

Die Sänger, Asaphs Söhne, waren nach der Anordnung Davids, Asaphs, Hemans und des königlichen Sehers Jedutun auf ihren Posten. Ebenso die Torhüter an den einzelnen Toren. Sie brauchten ihren Dienst nicht zu verlassen, weil ihre Brüder, die Leviten, für sie zurichteten.

16 So all the seruice of the Lord was prepared the same day, to keepe the Passeouer, and to offer burnt offerings vpon the altar of the Lord, according to the commandement of King Iosiah.

So ward an jenem Tag der ganze Dienst des Herrn geordnet. Man feierte das Passah und opferte nach des Königs Josias Befehl auf dem Altar des Herrn Brandopfer.

17 And the children of Israel that were present, kept the Passeouer the same time, and the feast of the vnleauened bread seuen dayes.

Also feierten die anwesenden Israeliten zu jener Zeit Passah, dazu das Fest der ungesäuerten Brote, sieben Tage.

18 And there was no Passeouer kept like that, in Israel, from the dayes of Samuel the Prophet: neyther did all the Kings of Israel keepe such a Passeouer as Iosiah kept, and the Priestes and the Leuites, and all Iudah, and Israel that were present, and the inhabitants of Ierusalem.

So war das Passah in Israel nicht mehr gefeiert worden seit den Tagen des Propheten Samuel. Keiner der Könige Israels hatte ein Passah gefeiert wie dies, das Josias begangen, die Priester und die Leviten und ganz Juda und Israel, soweit es da war, und Jerusalems Bewohner.

19 This Passeouer was kept in the eighteenth yeere of the reigne of Iosiah.

Dieses Passah war im achtzehnten Regierungsjahre des Josias gefeiert worden.

20 After all this, when Iosiah had prepared the Temple, Necho King of Egypt came vp to fight against Carchemish by Perath, and Iosiah went out against him.

Nach all diesen Begebenheiten, als Josias das Haus wiederhergestellt hatte, zog Ägyptens König Necho heran, bei Karkemis am Euphrat zu kämpfen. Josias aber zog ihm entgegen.

21 But he sent messengers to him, saying, What haue I to doe with thee, thou King of Iudah? I come not against thee this day, but against the house of mine enemie, and God commanded me to make haste: leaue of to come against God, which is with me, least he destroy thee.

Da sandte jener Boten an ihn und ließ sagen: "Was habe ich mit dir, König von Juda? Nicht dir gilt es heute, sondern meinem feindlichen Hausgesinde. Gott heißt mich eilen. Laß ab von Gott, der mit mir ist, daß er dich nicht vernichte!"

22 But Iosiah would not turne his face from him, but changed his apparel to fight with him, and hearkened not vnto the wordes of Necho, which were of the mouth of God, but came to fight in the valley of Megiddo.

Josias aber wandte sich nicht von ihm ab, sondern erklärte, mit ihm streiten zu wollen. Er hörte nicht auf Gottes Worte aus Nechos Munde, sondern ging vielmehr hin, in der Ebene von Megiddo zu kämpfen.

23 And the shooters shot at king Iosiah: then the King saide to his seruants, Cary me away, for I am very sicke.

Die Schützen schossen auf König Josias. Da sprach der König zu seinen Dienern: "Bringt mich weg! Denn ich bin schwer verwundet."

24 So his seruants tooke him out of that charet, and put him in the seconde charet which he had, and when they had brought him to Ierusalem, he dyed, and was buryed in the sepulchres of his fathers: and all Iudah and Ierusalem mourned for Iosiah.

Da hoben ihn seine Diener vom Wagen und trugen ihn in seiner Sänfte weg. So brachten sie ihn nach Jerusalem. Da starb er und wurde in den Gräbern seiner Väter bestattet. Ganz Juda und Jerusalem trauerte um Josias.

25 And Ieremiah lamented Iosiah, and al singing men and singing women mourned for Iosiah in their lamentations to this day, and made the same for an ordinance vnto Israel: and beholde, they be written in the lamentations.

Jeremias dichtete ein Klagelied auf Josias, und alle Sänger und Sängerinnen besangen in ihren Klageliedern Josias bis auf diesen Tag. Man machte es zu einer Sitte für Israel. Sie sind in den Klageliedern verzeichnet.

26 Concerning the rest of the actes of Iosiah and his goodnesse, doing as it was written in the Lawe of the Lord,

Der Rest der Geschichte des Josias und seine Frömmigkeit, die in der Lehre des Herrn vorgeschrieben ist,

27 And his deedes, first and last, behold, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Israel and Iudah.

seine frühere und spätere Geschichte, sind im Buche der Könige von Israel und Juda aufgezeichnet.
