< Romans 4 >

1 Let's take Abraham as an example. From a human viewpoint he is the father of our nation. Let's ask, “What was his experience?”
Adunadi hakchanggi marida eikhoigi ipa oiriba Abraham-gi maramda eikhoina kari haisige? Mahakna thengnakhiba adu karino?
2 For if Abraham was set right by what he did, he would have had something to boast about—but not in God's eyes.
Maramdi Abraham-bu mahakki thabakki mapanna chumhanbikhiba oirabadi, mahakki chaothokpham kharadi leigani adubu Tengban Mapugi maphamdadi natte.
3 However, what does Scripture say? “Abraham trusted God, and so he was considered as being a good person who did right.”
Maramdi Mapugi puyana kari haibage? “Abraham-na Tengban Mapubu thajare, aduga madu mangonda achumba chatpa oina singthabire.”
4 Whoever works gets paid—it's not considered as a gift, but because they've earned their wages.
Mi amana thabak suba matamda mahakki khutsuman adu khudol oina singthanade, adubu phangpham thokpa oina singthanei.
5 But God, who makes sinners right, considers them as right not because they've worked for it but because they trust in him. This is why
Aduga kanagumba thabak yaodana, Tengban Mapu ningdabasingbu chumhanbiba Tengban Mapu mahakpu thajaba, mahakki thajaba adu achumba chatpa oina singthanabi.
6 David speaks of the happiness of those whom God considers as right, and not because they worked for it:
Thabak yaodana achumba chatpa oina Tengban Mapuna singthanabiba mi adu yaiphei haiduna David-na asumna hai,
7 “How happy are those whose wrongs are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
“Makhoigi ayol aran-gi thabaksing kokpikhraba, aduga makhoigi papsingbu kupsinbikhraba makhoi adu yaiphabani.
8 How happy are those the Lord does not consider sinful.”
Mapu Ibungona pap singthanabiroidaba mi adu yaiphabani.”
9 Now is this blessing just for the Jews, or is it for others too? We've just stated that Abraham was accepted as good and right because he trusted God.
Asigumba yaiphaba asi un kakpa misinggi khaktra? Masi un kaktaba misinggisu nattra? Maramdi eikhoina haiduna lakli madudi, “Abraham-na Tengban Mapubu thajare aduga mahakki thajabagi mapanna Tengban Mapuna mahakpu achumba chatpa oina singthanabire.”
10 But when did this happen? When Abraham was a Jew or before?
Madu karamba matamda singthanabikhibano? Mahakpu un kaklaba matungdara nattraga kaktringeidra? Madu mahakpu un kaklaba matungda natte, un kaktringeigi mamangdani.
11 It was actually before he became a Jew by being circumcised, which was a confirmation of his trust in God to make him right. This happened before he was circumcised, so he is the father of everyone who trusts in God and are considered as right by God, even though they may not be circumcised Jews.
Madugi matungda mahak un kakkhi amasung mahakki un kakpa adudi mahakna un kaktringeida mahakna thajabagi mapanna Tengban Mapuna mahakpu achumba chatpa oina singthanabire haiba khudam utnanabani. Maram aduna un kaktrabasu Tengban Mapubu thajaba amadi Tengban Mapuna achumba chatpani haina singthanabiraba makhoi pumnamakki thawaigi mapa oire.
12 He is also the father of circumcised Jews not merely because they're circumcised, but because they follow the example of the trust in God our father Abraham had before he was circumcised.
Abraham asi un kakkhraba makhoigisu mapani adugisu mathakta un kakpata nattaduna eikhoigi ipa Abraham-gi un kaktringeigi thajaba adugi khongthangsingbu matung inna chatlibasinggisuni.
13 God's promise to Abraham and his descendants that the world would belong to him was not based on his keeping of the law, but because he was made right through his trust in God.
Maramdi taibangpan asi makhoigi oigani haina Tengban Mapuna Abraham amadi mahakki charol surolda wasakpikhiba adu Wayel Yathanggi mapanna natte, adubu thajabagi mapanna phangba achumba chatpa adugi mapannani.
14 For if the promised inheritance is based on keeping the law, then the issue of trusting God is not necessary, and the promise is pointless.
Maramdi Tengban Mapuna wasakpiba adu Wayel Yathangda tangjaribasing aduda oirabadi, thajabadi aremba oire, aduga wasakpa adu karisu kanadaba oire.
15 For the law results in punishment—but if there's no law then it cannot be broken.
Maramdi Wayel Yathangna Tengban Mapugi mei houna saoba purak-i; adubu wayel yathang leitabada yathang thugaiba haibasu leite.
16 So the promise is based on trusting God. It is provided as a free gift, guaranteed to all the children of Abraham—not merely to those who follow the law, but also to those who trust like Abraham, the father of us all.
Maram aduna wasakpiba adu thajabada yumpham oi, wasakpiba adu Abraham-gi charol surol pumnamakta lemna piba khudol oinanabani--madu Wayel Yathang inba makhoisinggidata natte adubu Abraham-na thajakhiba adugumna thajaba makhoisinggisuni. Maram aduna Abraham-di eikhoi pumnamakki thawaigi ipa oire.
17 As Scripture says, “I've made you the father of many nations.” For in the presence of God, Abraham trusted in the God who makes the dead alive and speaks into existence what didn't previously exist.
Masi Tengban Mapugi puyada ikhibagumnani, “Eina nahakpu phurup mayam amagi mapa oihallabani.” Asibabu hingba pibiba amasung leitaba potsingbu yathang piduna leihallakkhiba, Abraham-na thajakhiba Tengban Mapugi mangda wasakpiba adu aphabani
18 Against all hope Abraham in hope trusted God, so he could become the father of many peoples, just as God had promised him: “This is how many descendants you'll have!”
Asa leitrabasu Abraham-na asa touduna thajakhi, maramdi “Nahakki charol surolsu asumna oigani” haina mahakki maramda haikhibagumna, mahakna phurup mayam amagi mapa oibani.
19 His trust in God didn't weaken even though he thought his body was practically dead (he was around a hundred years old), and knew that Sarah was too old to have children.
Mahak chahi chamarom surabani; sikhrabagumlaba mahakki hakchang aduga Sarah-gi sikhrabagumlaba angang khao adusu wakhal toubada mahakki thajabada hanthakhide.
20 He held on to God's promise—he didn't doubt it. Instead his trust in God grew stronger, and he gave glory to God.
Aduga thajadaduna mahakna Tengban Mapugi wasakpiba adu chingnakhiba toukhide adubu mahakki thajabada kankhatkhi amasung Tengban Mapubu thagatchakhi;
21 He was totally convinced that what God had promised he had the power to deliver.
Tengban Mapuna wasakpikhiba adu Ibungo mahakna toubiba ngammi haina Abraham-na chetna thajakhi.
22 That's why Abraham was considered right by God.
Maram adunani thajabagi mapanna Abraham-bu “Tengban Mapuna achumba chatpa oina singthanabikhi.”
23 The words “Abraham was considered right” weren't just written down for his benefit.
“Mahakpu achumba chatpa oina singthanabire” haiba adu mahak mathantagidamakta ikhiba natte,
24 They were for us too, those of us who will be considered as right, since we trust in God who raised our Lord Jesus from the dead.
adubu eikhoigi Ibungo Jisubu asibadagi hinggat-hanbiba Ibungo mahakpu thajariba achumba chatpa oina singthanabigadaba eikhoigidamaksu ikhibani.
25 Jesus was handed over to die because of our sins, and was raised to life to make us right.
Eikhoigi papkidamak mahakpu sinanaba pithokle amasung eikhoibu chumhanbinabagidamak mahakpu hinggat-hanbire.
