Psalms 114

1 When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a barbarous people:

QUANDO Israele uscì di Egitto, [E] la casa di Giacobbe d'infra il popolo barbaro;

2 Judea made his sanctuary, Israel his dominion.

Giuda fu consacrato al Signore, Israele [divenne] suo dominio.

3 The sea saw and fled: Jordan was turned back.

Il mare [lo] vide, e fuggì; Il Giordano si rivolse a ritroso.

4 The mountains skipped like rams, and the hills like the lambs of the flock.

I monti saltarono come montoni, I colli come agnelli.

5 What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou didst flee: and thou, O Jordan, that thou wast turned back?

Che avesti, o mare, che tu fuggisti? [E tu], Giordano, che ti rivolgesti a ritroso?

6 Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams, and ye hills, like lambs of the flock?

[E voi], monti, [che] saltaste come montoni; [E voi], colli, come agnelli?

7 At the presence of the Lord the earth was moved, at the presence of the God of Jacob:

Trema, o terra, per la presenza del Signore; Per la presenza dell'Iddio di Giacobbe;

8 Who turned the rock into pools of water, and the stony hill into fountains of waters.

Il quale mutò la roccia in guazzo d'acqua, Il macigno in fonte d'acqua.
