2 Corinthians 11
1 Would to God you could bear with some little of my folly: but do bear with me.
Je voudrais que vous me supportiez avec un peu de folie, mais vous me supportez.
2 For I am jealous of you with the jealousy of God. For I have espoused you to one husband that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
Car je suis jaloux de vous d'une jalousie pieuse. Car je t'ai promise en mariage à un seul époux, afin de te présenter au Christ comme une vierge pure.
3 But I fear lest, as the serpent seduced Eve by his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted, and fall from the simplicity that is in Christ.
Mais je crains que, de même que le serpent a séduit Ève par sa ruse, de même vos esprits ne soient corrompus de la simplicité qui est en Christ.
4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Christ, whom we have not preached; or if you receive another Spirit, whom you have not received; or another gospel which you have not received; you might well bear with him.
Car si celui qui vient prêche un autre Jésus que nous n'avons pas prêché, ou si vous recevez un autre esprit que vous n'avez pas reçu, ou une autre « bonne nouvelle » que vous n'avez pas acceptée, vous vous en accommoderez fort bien.
5 For I suppose that I have done nothing less than the great apostles.
Car j'estime que je ne suis pas du tout en retard sur les meilleurs apôtres.
6 For although I be rude in speech, yet not in knowledge; but in all things we have been made manifest to you.
Si je suis peu doué pour la parole, je ne le suis pas pour la connaissance. Non, de toutes les manières, nous vous avons été révélés en toutes choses.
7 Or did I commit a fault, humbling myself, that you might be exalted? Because I preached unto you the gospel of God freely?
Ou bien ai-je commis un péché en m'abaissant moi-même pour vous élever, parce que je vous ai annoncé gratuitement la Bonne Nouvelle de Dieu?
8 I have taken from other churches, receiving wages of them for your ministry.
J'ai dépouillé d'autres assemblées, en prenant leur salaire pour vous servir.
9 And, when I was present with you, and wanted, I was chargeable to no man: for that which was wanting to me, the brethren supplied who came from Macedonia; and in all things I have kept myself from being burthensome to you, and so I will keep myself.
Lorsque j'étais présent parmi vous et que j'étais dans le besoin, je n'étais à la charge de personne, car les frères, venus de Macédoine, ont pourvu à la mesure de mon besoin. En tout, je me suis gardé d'être un fardeau pour vous, et je continuerai à le faire.
10 The truth of Christ is in me, that this glorying shall not be broken off in me in the regions of Achaia.
Comme la vérité du Christ est en moi, personne ne m'empêchera de me vanter ainsi dans les régions de l'Achaïe.
11 Wherefore? Because I love you not? God knoweth it.
Pourquoi? Parce que je ne vous aime pas? Dieu le sait.
12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off the occasion from them that desire occasion, that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
Mais ce que je fais, je continuerai à le faire, afin de couper l'occasion à ceux qui désirent une occasion, afin que, dans ce dont ils se vantent, ils soient reconnus comme nous.
13 For such false apostles are deceitful workmen, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
Car de tels hommes sont de faux apôtres, des ouvriers trompeurs, se faisant passer pour les apôtres de Christ.
14 And no wonder: for Satan himself transformeth himself into an angel of light.
Et ce n'est pas étonnant, car même Satan se fait passer pour un ange de lumière.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers be transformed as the ministers of justice, whose end shall be according to their works.
Ce n'est donc pas une grande chose si ses serviteurs se font aussi passer pour des serviteurs de la justice, dont la fin sera conforme à leurs œuvres.
16 I say again, (let no man think me to be foolish, otherwise take me as one foolish, that I also may glory a little.)
Je le répète, que personne ne me trouve insensé. Mais si c'est le cas, recevez-moi comme insensé, afin que moi aussi je me glorifie un peu.
17 That which I speak, I speak not according to God, but as it were in foolishness, in this matter of glorying.
Ce que je dis, je ne le dis pas selon le Seigneur, mais comme une folie, dans cette assurance de la vantardise.
18 Seeing that many glory according to the flesh, I will glory also.
Puisque plusieurs se glorifient selon la chair, je me glorifierai aussi.
19 For you gladly suffer the foolish; whereas yourselves are wise.
Car vous supportez volontiers les insensés, étant sages.
20 For you suffer if a man bring you into bondage, if a man devour you, if a man take from you, if a man be lifted up, if a man strike you on the face.
Car vous supportez l'homme qui vous asservit, qui vous dévore, qui vous emmène en captivité, qui s'exalte, qui vous frappe au visage.
21 I speak according to dishonour, as if we had been weak in this part. Wherein if any man dare (I speak foolishly), I dare also.
A ma grande honte, je parle comme si nous avions été faibles. Mais de quelque manière que quelqu'un soit audacieux (je parle en insensé), je le suis aussi.
22 They are Hebrews: so am I. They are Israelites: so am I. They are the seed of Abraham: so am I.
Sont-ils des Hébreux? Moi aussi. Sont-ils Israélites? Je le suis aussi. Sont-ils les descendants d'Abraham? Moi aussi.
23 They are the ministers of Christ (I speak as one less wise). I am more; in many more labours, in prisons more frequently, in stripes above measure, in deaths often.
Sont-ils des serviteurs du Christ? (Je le suis davantage: plus de travaux, plus de prisons, plus de coups, et plus de morts.
24 Of the Jews five times did I receive forty stripes, save one.
Cinq fois, j'ai reçu des Juifs quarante coups de bâton moins un.
25 Thrice was I beaten with rods, once I was stoned, thrice I suffered shipwreck, a night and a day I was in the depth of the sea.
Trois fois, j'ai été battu de verges. Une fois, j'ai été lapidé. Trois fois j'ai fait naufrage. J'ai passé une nuit et un jour dans les profondeurs.
26 In journeying often, in perils of waters, in perils of robbers, in perils from my own nation, in perils from the Gentiles, in perils in the city, in perils in the wilderness, in perils in the sea, in perils from false brethren.
J'ai été souvent en voyage, dans les périls des fleuves, dans les périls des brigands, dans les périls de mes compatriotes, dans les périls des païens, dans les périls de la ville, dans les périls du désert, dans les périls de la mer, dans les périls des faux frères;
27 In labour and painfulness, in much watchings, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness.
dans le travail et l'ouvrage, dans les veilles fréquentes, dans la faim et la soif, dans les jeûnes fréquents, dans le froid et la nudité.
28 Besides those things which are without: my daily instance, the solicitude for all the churches.
Outre ces choses extérieures, il y a ce qui me presse chaque jour: l'inquiétude pour toutes les assemblées.
29 Who is weak, and I am not weak? Who is scandalized, and I am not on fire?
Qui est faible, et je ne le suis pas? Qui est amené à trébucher, et je ne brûle pas d'indignation?
30 If I must needs glory, I will glory of the things that concern my infirmity.
S'il faut que je me glorifie, je me glorifierai de ce qui concerne ma faiblesse.
31 The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who is blessed for ever, knoweth that I lie not. (aiōn g165)
Le Dieu et Père du Seigneur Jésus-Christ, celui qui est béni à jamais, sait que je ne mens pas. (aiōn g165)
32 At Damascus, the governor of the nation under Aretas the king, guarded the city of the Damascenes, to apprehend me.
A Damas, le gouverneur du roi Arétas, qui gardait la ville, voulut m'arrêter.
33 And through a window in a basket was I let down by the wall, and so escaped his hands.
On m'a fait descendre dans une corbeille par une fenêtre près de la muraille, et j'ai échappé à ses mains.
