Psalms 27
1 [A Psalm] of David, before he was anointed. The Lord is my light and my Saviour; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the defender of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
De David. Yahweh est ma lumière et mon salut: qui craindrais-je? Yahweh est le rempart de ma vie: de qui aurais-je peur?
2 When evil-doers drew near against me to eat up my flesh, my persecutors and mine enemies, they fainted and fell.
Quand des méchants se sont avancés contre moi, pour dévorer ma chair; quand mes adversaires et mes ennemis se sont avancés, ce sont eux qui ont chancelé et qui sont tombés.
3 Though an army should set itself in array against me, my heart shall not be afraid: though war should rise up against me, in this am I confident.
Qu’une armée vienne camper contre moi, mon cœur ne craindra point; que contre moi s’engage le combat, alors même j’aurai confiance.
4 One thing have I asked of the Lord, this will I earnestly seek: that I should dwell in the house of the Lord, all the days of my life, that I should behold the fair beauty of the Lord, and survey his temple.
Je demande à Yahweh une chose, je la désire ardemment: je voudrais habiter dans la maison de Yahweh, tous les jours de ma vie, pour jouir des amabilités de Yahweh, pour contempler son sanctuaire.
5 For in the day of mine afflictions he hid me in his tabernacle: he sheltered me in the secret of his tabernacle; he set me up on a rock.
Car il m’abritera dans sa demeure au jour de l’adversité, il me cachera dans le secret de sa tente, il m’établira sur un rocher.
6 And now, behold, he has lifted up mine head over mine enemies: I went round and offered in his tabernacle the sacrifice of joy; I will sing even sing psalms to the Lord.
Alors ma tête s’élèvera au-dessus des ennemis; qui sont autour de moi. J’offrirai dans son tabernacle des sacrifices d’actions de grâces, je chanterai et je dirai des hymnes à Yahweh.
7 Hear, O Lord, my voice which I have uttered aloud: pity me, and listen to me.
Yahweh, écoute ma voix, je t’invoque; aie pitié de moi et exauce-moi!
8 My heart said to you, I have diligently sought your face: your face, O Lord, I will seek.
Mon cœur dit de ta part: « Cherchez ma face «; je cherche ta face, Yahweh.
9 Turn not your face away from me, turn not you away from your servant in anger: be you my helper, forsake me not; and, O God my Saviour, overlook me not.
Ne me cache pas ta face, ne repousse pas avec colère ton serviteur; tu es mon secours, ne me délaisse pas, et ne m’abandonne pas, Dieu de mon salut!
10 For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord has taken me to himself.
Car mon père et ma mère m’ont abandonné, mais Yahweh me recueillera.
11 Teach me, O Lord, in your way, and guide me in a right path, because of mine enemies.
Seigneur, enseigne-moi ta voie; dirige-moi dans un sentier uni, à cause de ceux qui m’épient.
12 Deliver me not over to the desire of them that afflict me; for unjust witnesses have risen up against me, and injustice has lied within herself.
Ne me livre pas à la fureur de mes adversaires, car contre moi s’élèvent des témoins de mensonge, et des gens qui ne respirent que violence.
13 I believe that I shall see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Ah! si je ne croyais pas voir la bonté de Yahweh, dans la terre des vivants...
14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and let your heart be strengthened: yes wait on the Lord.
Espère en Yahweh! Aie courage et que ton cœur soit ferme! Espère en Yahweh!
