1 Corinthians 14
1 Follow after love and earnestly desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.
Segui a caridade, e procurae com zelo os dons espirituaes, mas principalmente o de prophetizar.
2 For he who speaks in another language speaks not to men, but to God, for no one understands, but in the Spirit he speaks mysteries.
Porque o que falla lingua estranha não falla aos homens, senão a Deus; porque ninguem o entende, e em espirito falla de mysterios.
3 But he who prophesies speaks to men for their edification, exhortation, and consolation.
Mas o que prophetiza falla aos homens para edificação, exhortação e consolação.
4 He who speaks in another language edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the assembly.
O que falla lingua estranha edifica-se a si mesmo, mas o que prophetiza edifica a egreja.
5 Now I desire to have you all speak with other languages, but even more that you would prophesy. For he is greater who prophesies than he who speaks with other languages, unless he interprets, that the assembly may be built up.
E eu quero que todos vós falleis linguas estranhas, mas muito mais que prophetizeis, porque o que prophetiza é maior do que o que falla linguas estranhas, a não ser que tambem interprete, para que a egreja receba edificação.
6 But now, brothers, if I come to you speaking with other languages, what would I profit you unless I speak to you either by way of revelation, or of knowledge, or of prophesying, or of teaching?
E agora, irmãos, se eu fôr ter comvosco fallando linguas estranhas, que vos aproveitaria, se vos não fallasse ou por meio da revelação, ou da sciencia, ou da prophecia, ou da doutrina?
7 Even lifeless things that make a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they did not give a distinction in the sounds, how would it be known what is piped or harped?
Da mesma sorte, se as coisas inanimadas, que fazem sonido, seja flauta, seja cithara, não formarem sons distinctos, como se saberá o que se toca com a flauta ou com a cithara?
8 For if the trumpet gave an uncertain sound, who would prepare himself for war?
Porque, se a trombeta der sonido incerto, quem se preparará para a batalha?
9 So also you, unless you uttered by the tongue words easy to understand, how would it be known what is spoken? For you would be speaking into the air.
Assim tambem vós, se com a lingua não pronunciardes palavras bem intelligiveis, como se entenderá o que se diz? porque estareis como que fallando ao ar
10 There are, it may be, so many kinds of languages in the world, and none of them is without meaning.
Ha, por exemplo, tantos generos de vozes no mundo, e nenhuma d'ellas é sem significação.
11 If then I do not know the meaning of the language, I would be to him who speaks a foreigner, and he who speaks would be a foreigner to me.
Porém, se eu ignorar o sentido da voz, serei barbaro para aquelle a quem fallo, e o que falla será barbaro para mim.
12 So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
Assim tambem vós, pois que desejaes dons espirituaes, procurae abundar n'elles, para edificação da egreja.
13 Therefore let him who speaks in another language pray that he may interpret.
Pelo que, o que falla lingua estranha, ore para que possa interpretar.
14 For if I pray in another language, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
Porque, se eu orar em lingua estranha, o meu espirito ora bem, mas o meu entendimento fica sem fructo.
15 What should I do? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also. I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
Que farei pois? Orarei com o espirito, mas tambem orarei com o entendimento; cantarei com o espirito, mas tambem cantarei com o entendimento.
16 Otherwise, if you bless with the spirit, how will he who fills the place of the unlearned say the “Amen” at your giving of thanks, seeing he does not know what you say?
D'outra maneira, se tu bemdisseres com o espirito, como dirá o que occupa o logar de indouto, o Amen, sobre a tua benção, visto que não sabe o que dizes?
17 For you most certainly give thanks well, but the other person is not built up.
Porque realmente tu dás bem as graças, mas o outro não é edificado.
18 I thank my God, I speak with other languages more than you all.
Dou graças ao meu Deus, que fallo mais linguas do que vós todos.
19 However, in the assembly I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others also, than ten thousand words in another language.
Porém eu antes quero fallar na egreja cinco palavras na minha intelligencia, para que possa tambem instruir os outros, do que dez mil palavras em lingua estranha.
20 Brothers, do not be children in thoughts, yet in malice be babies, but in thoughts be mature.
Irmãos, não sejaes meninos no entendimento, mas sêde meninos na malicia, e adultos no entendimento.
21 In the law it is written, “By men of strange languages and by the lips of strangers I will speak to this people. They will not even listen to me that way, says the Lord.”
Está escripto na lei: Por gente d'outras linguas, e por outros labios, fallarei a este povo; e ainda assim me não ouvirão, diz o Senhor.
22 Therefore other languages are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to the unbelieving; but prophesying is for a sign, not to the unbelieving, but to those who believe.
De sorte que as linguas estranhas são um signal, não para os fieis, mas para os infieis; e a prophecia, não para os infieis, mas para os fieis.
23 If therefore the whole assembly is assembled together and all speak with other languages, and unlearned or unbelieving people come in, will not they say that you are crazy?
Se pois toda a egreja se congregar n'um logar, e todos fallarem linguas estranhas, e entrarem indoutos ou infieis, não dirão porventura que estaes loucos?
24 But if all prophesy, and someone unbelieving or unlearned comes in, he is reproved by all, and he is judged by all.
Mas, se todos prophetizarem, e algum indouto ou infiel entrar, de todos é convencido, de todos é julgado.
25 And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed. So he will fall down on his face and worship God, declaring that God is among you indeed.
E assim os segredos do seu coração ficarão manifestos, e assim, lançando-se sobre o seu rosto, adorará a Deus, publicando que Deus está verdadeiramente entre vós.
26 What is it then, brothers? When you come together, each one of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a revelation, has another language, or has an interpretation. Let all things be done to build each other up.
Que fareis pois, irmãos? Quando vos ajuntaes, cada um de vós tem psalmo, tem doutrina, tem lingua estranha, tem revelação, tem interpretação. Faça-se tudo para edificação.
27 If any man speaks in another language, let there be two, or at the most three, and in turn; and let one interpret.
E, se alguem fallar lingua estranha, faça-se isso por dois, ou quando muito tres, e por vezes, e um interprete.
28 But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in the assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
Mas, se não houver interprete, esteja calado na egreja; porém, falle comsigo mesmo, e com Deus.
29 Let two or three of the prophets speak, and let the others discern.
E fallem dois ou tres prophetas, e os outros julguem.
30 But if a revelation is made to another sitting by, let the first keep silent.
Porém, se a outro, que estiver assentado, fôr revelada alguma coisa, cale-se o primeiro.
31 For you all can prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be exhorted.
Porque todos podereis prophetizar, uns depois dos outros; para que todos aprendam, e todos sejam consolados.
32 The spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets,
E os espiritos dos prophetas estão sujeitos aos prophetas.
33 for God is not a God of confusion but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
Porque Deus não é Deus de confusão, senão de paz, como em todas as egrejas dos sanctos.
34 Let the wives be quiet in the assemblies, for it has not been permitted for them to be talking except in submission, as the law also says,
As vossas mulheres estejam caladas nas egrejas; porque lhes não é permittido fallar, mas estejam sujeitas, como tambem ordena a lei.
35 if they desire to learn anything. “Let them ask their own husbands at home, for it is shameful for a wife to be talking in the assembly.”
E, se querem aprender alguma coisa, interroguem em casa a seus proprios maridos; porque é indecente que as mulheres fallem na egreja.
36 What!? Was it from you that the word of God went out? Or did it come to you alone?
Porventura saiu d'entre vós a palavra de Deus? Ou veiu ella sómente para vós?
37 If any man thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, that they are the commandment of the Lord.
Se alguem cuida ser propheta, ou espiritual, reconheça que as coisas que vos escrevo são mandamentos do Senhor.
38 But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant.
Se alguem, porém, o ignora, ignore.
39 Therefore, brothers, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid speaking with other languages.
Portanto, irmãos, procurae, com zelo, prophetizar, e não prohibaes fallar linguas.
40 Let all things be done decently and in order.
Mas faça-se tudo decentemente e com ordem.
