1 Corinthians 13
1 If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.
Om jag talade med menniskors och Änglars tungor, och hade icke kärleken, så vore jag en ljudande malm, eller en klingande bjellra.
2 If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
Och om jag kunde prophetera, och visste all hemlighet, och allt förstånd, och hade alla tro, så att jag försatte berg, och hade icke kärleken, så vore jag intet.
3 If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.
Och om jag gåfve alla mina ägodelar de fattiga, och låte min lekamen brinna, och hade icke kärleken, så vore det mig intet nyttigt.
4 Love is patient and is kind. Love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud,
Kärleken är tålig och mild; kärleken afundas intet; kärleken skalkas intet, han uppblåses icke.
5 does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;
Han skickar sig icke ohöfveliga; han söker icke sitt, han förtörnas icke, han tänker intet argt;
6 does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;
Han gläds icke öfver orättfärdighet; men han fröjdar sig öfver sanningen.
7 bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, and endures all things.
Han fördrager all ting, han tror all ting, han hoppas all ting, han lider all ting.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
Kärleken vänder aldrig åter, ändock Prophetierna skola återvända, och tungomålen skola afkomma, och förståndet skall återvända.
9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part;
Ty vi förstå endels, och prophetere endels;
10 but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.
Men då det kommer som fullkomligit är, så vänder det åter som endels är.
11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.
Då jag var ett barn, talade jag som ett barn, och hade sinne som ett barn, och hade barnsliga tankar; men sedan jag vardt man, lade jag bort det barnsligit var.
12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
Ty vi se nu genom en spegel, uti ett mörkt tal; men då ansigte emot ansigte. Nu känner jag endels; men då skall jag kännat, såsom jag ock känd är.
13 But now faith, hope, and love remain—these three. The greatest of these is love.
Men nu blifver tron, hoppet, kärleken, dessa tre; men störst ibland dem är kärleken.
