Luka 19
1 Yesu nodonjo Jeriko, kendo nowuotho kokadho e dier dalano.
He entered and was passing through Jericho.
2 Ngʼato ne nitie kanyo ma nyinge Zakayo; ne en jasol osuru maduongʼ kendo ne en ja-mwandu.
There was a man named Zacchaeus. He was a chief tax collector, and he was rich.
3 Ne odwaro neno ni Yesu en ngʼa, to nikech ne en nyadundo ne ok onyal, nikech oganda ne ngʼeny.
He was trying to see who Jesus was, and couldn’t because of the crowd, because he was short.
4 Omiyo noringo odhiyo motelo kendo noidho yadh ngʼowu mondo onene, nikech Yesu ne biro kalo kanyo.
He ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was going to pass that way.
5 Kane Yesu ochopo kanyo, nongʼiyo malo kendo nowachone niya, “Omiyo Zakayo, nolor piny piyo. Tinendeni nyaka abed e odi.”
When Jesus came to the place, he looked up and saw him, and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for today I must stay at your house.”
6 Omiyo Zakayo nolor mapiyo kendo norwake gi mor e ode.
He hurried, came down, and received him joyfully.
7 Ji duto mane oneno ma nochako ngʼur kagiwacho niya, “Osedhi bedo wendo jaricho!”
When they saw it, they all murmured, saying, “He has gone in to lodge with a man who is a sinner.”
8 To Zakayo nochungo malo kendo nowachone Ruoth niya, “Ne Ruoth! Sani kendo koroni abiro chiwo nus mar giga ne jochan, to kapo ni ne asewuondo ngʼato e gimoro amora, abiro chule ka adwokone maromo nyadingʼwen.”
Zacchaeus stood and said to the Lord, “Behold, Lord, half of my goods I give to the poor. If I have wrongfully exacted anything of anyone, I restore four times as much.”
9 Yesu nowachone niya, “Kawuono warruok osebiro e odni, nikech ngʼatni bende en nyakwar Ibrahim.
Jesus said to him, “Today, salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham.
10 Nikech Wuod Dhano nobiro mondo omany kendo owar jogo manolal.”
For the Son of Man came to seek and to save that which was lost.”
11 Kane pod giwinjo wachni, nodhi nyime kogoyonegi ngero, nikech nochiegni gi Jerusalem, kendo ji ne paro ni pinyruoth Nyasaye biro betie mapiyo.
As they heard these things, he went on and told a parable, because he was near Jerusalem, and they supposed that God’s Kingdom would be revealed immediately.
12 Nowacho niya, “Ngʼat moro marahuma nodhi e piny mabor mondo oyiere ruoth eka bangʼe oduogi.
He said therefore, “A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom and to return.
13 Omiyo noluongo jotichne moko apar kendo ne omiyogi silingʼ alufu achiel, achiel. Nowachonegi ni, ‘Lokuru ohala gi pesagi, nyaka chop aduogi.’
He called ten servants of his and gave them ten mina coins, and told them, ‘Conduct business until I come.’
14 “To joge nosin kode kendo negioro joote modhiyo ire mondo giwach ni, ‘Ok wadwar ngʼatni mondo obed ruodhwa.’
But his citizens hated him, and sent an envoy after him, saying, ‘We don’t want this man to reign over us.’
15 “Kata kamano, ne okete ruoth, kendo nodok dala. Kendo noluongo jotichne mane omiyo pesa, mondo oyud ni en ohala manade magiseyudo.
“When he had come back again, having received the kingdom, he commanded these servants, to whom he had given the money, to be called to him, that he might know what they had gained by conducting business.
16 “Ngʼat mokwongo nobiro kendo nowacho ni, ‘Ruoth, silingʼ alufu achiel, osenywolo silinge alufu apar moko.’
The first came before him, saying, ‘Lord, your mina has made ten more minas.’
17 “Ruoth nodwoko ni, ‘Isetimo maber, jatichna maber! Nikech isebedo ngʼat mogen e gima tin ahinya, koro bed jarit mier madongo apar.’
“He said to him, ‘Well done, you good servant! Because you were found faithful with very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
18 “Ngʼat mar ariyo nobiro kendo nowacho ni, ‘Ruoth, silingʼ alufu achiel osenywolo silinge alufu abich moko.’
“The second came, saying, ‘Your mina, Lord, has made five minas.’
19 “Ruodhe nodwoke ni, ‘Bed jarit mier madongo abich.’
“So he said to him, ‘And you are to be over five cities.’
20 “Eka jatich machielo nobiro kendo owacho ni, ‘Jaduongʼ, silingʼ alufu achiel eri, ne asekane kapande kaboyogo gi nanga.
Another came, saying, ‘Lord, behold, your mina, which I kept laid away in a handkerchief,
21 Ne aluori, nikech in ngʼat makoch. In ikawo gino mane ok ikano, kendo ikayo mano mane ok ichwoyo.’
for I feared you, because you are an exacting man. You take up that which you didn’t lay down, and reap that which you didn’t sow.’
22 “To Ruodhe nodwoke ni, ‘Abiro ngʼadoni bura koluwore kod gima iwacho, in jatich marach! Kara in ne ingʼeyo ni an ngʼat makoch, kendo ni akawo gima ne ok akano, bende akayo gima ne ok achwoyo!
“He said to him, ‘Out of your own mouth I will judge you, you wicked servant! You knew that I am an exacting man, taking up that which I didn’t lay down and reaping that which I didn’t sow.
23 Marangʼo ne ok iketo pesanano e od keno, mondo kane aduogo, to ne anyalo kawe gi ohande.’
Then why didn’t you deposit my money in the bank, and at my coming, I might have earned interest on it?’
24 “Eka nowachone jogo mane ochungo kanyo ni, ‘Kawuru silinge alufu achiel ugol kuome kendo umi jalno man-gi silingʼ alufu apar.’
He said to those who stood by, ‘Take the mina away from him and give it to him who has the ten minas.’
25 “Negiwacho ni, ‘Jaduongʼ donge en-gi silingʼ alufu apar.’
“They said to him, ‘Lord, he has ten minas!’
26 “Nodwoko ni, ‘Awachonu ni ngʼato ka ngʼato man-go nomedne mi nobed gi mogundho, to ngʼatno ma ongego, kata mano ma en-go nomaye.
‘For I tell you that to everyone who has, will more be given; but from him who doesn’t have, even that which he has will be taken away from him.
27 To keluru wasikago ka mane ok dwar mondo abed ruodhigi mondo uneg-gi e nyima.’”
But bring those enemies of mine who didn’t want me to reign over them here, and kill them before me.’”
28 Bangʼ ka Yesu nosewacho mani, nodhi nyime, kochomo Jerusalem.
Having said these things, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
29 Ka koro nochiegni chopo e miech Bethfage kod Bethania manie Got Zeituni, nooro jopuonjrene ariyo, nowachonegi niya,
When he came near to Bethsphage and Bethany, at the mountain that is called Olivet, he sent two of his disciples,
30 “Dhiuru e dala man nyimu cha, to ka udonjo e iye, to ubiro nwangʼo nyathi kanyna mapok ngʼato oidho nyaka nene kotwe kanyo. Gonyeuru kendo ukele ka.
saying, “Go your way into the village on the other side, in which, as you enter, you will find a colt tied, which no man has ever sat upon. Untie it and bring it.
31 Kapo ngʼato openjou ni, ‘Angʼo momiyo ugonye?’ Udwoke ni, ‘Ruoth dware.’”
If anyone asks you, ‘Why are you untying it?’ say to him: ‘The Lord needs it.’”
32 Jogo mane oor motelo nodhi kendo negiyude mana kaka nosenyisogi
Those who were sent went away and found things just as he had told them.
33 Kane oyudo gigonyo nyathi kanynano, wuon nopenjogi, “Angʼo momiyo ugonyo nyathi kanyna?”
As they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, “Why are you untying the colt?”
34 To jopuonjre nodwoke mayot niya, “Ruoth dware.”
They said, “The Lord needs it.”
35 Negikele ir Yesu, ma gipedho lepgi e diengʼe nyathi kanyna kendo negiketo Yesu kuome.
Then they brought it to Jesus. They threw their cloaks on the colt and sat Jesus on them.
36 Kane owuotho odhi, ji nopedho lepgi e yo.
As he went, they spread their cloaks on the road.
37 Kane ochopo machiegni gi kama yo kadhogo e tiend Got Zeituni, oganda maduongʼ mar jopuonjre nochako pako Nyasaye gi ilo kod dwol maduongʼ kuom honni duto mane giseneno niya,
As he was now getting near, at the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works which they had seen,
38 “Ogwedh Ruoth mabiro e nying Jehova Nyasaye!” “Kwe obedi e polo, kendo duongʼ obed e polo malo!”
saying, “Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in the highest!”
39 Jo-Farisai moko ei oganda nowachone Yesu niya, “Japuonj, kwer jopuonjreni!”
Some of the Pharisees from the multitude said to him, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!”
40 Nodwoko niya, “Awachonu ni, kata ka dine gilingʼ, to kitegi biro goyo koko.”
He answered them, “I tell you that if these were silent, the stones would cry out.”
41 Kane osudo machiegni gi Jerusalem kendo moneno dala maduongʼno noywage,
When he came near, he saw the city and wept over it,
42 kowacho niya, “Ka dine in iwuon bed ni ingʼeyo tinendeni gima nyalo keloni kwe, to koro ogengʼore ne wangʼi.
saying, “If you, even you, had known today the things which belong to your peace! But now, they are hidden from your eyes.
43 Ndalo biro chopo ma wasiki biro goyoni agengʼa kolwori, kendo kunyoni bur koni gi koni.
For the days will come on you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, surround you, hem you in on every side,
44 Ginigoyi piny, in gi nyithindi ei ohingani ok giniwe kidi moro ewi wadgi, nikech ne ok ingʼeyo kinde mane Nyasaye biroe iri.”
and will dash you and your children within you to the ground. They will not leave in you one stone on another, because you didn’t know the time of your visitation.”
45 Eka nodonjo e hekalu kendo noriembo oko joma ne uso gik moko.
He entered into the temple and began to drive out those who bought and sold in it,
46 Nowachonegi niya, “Ondiki ni, ‘Oda nobed od lamo;’to un to useloke ‘kar chokruok mar jomecho.’”
saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house is a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of robbers’!”
47 Ndalo ka ndalo nopuonjo e hekalu. To jodolo madongo, jopuonj chik kod jotelo mag ji netemo mondo ginege.
He was teaching daily in the temple, but the chief priests, the scribes, and the leading men amongst the people sought to destroy him.
48 To ne ok ginyal yudo yo mar timo kamano, nikech ji duto norwako wachne.
They couldn’t find what they might do, for all the people hung on to every word that he said.
