< Thuchihbu 11 >

1 Thil adihlouva kite hi Pakaiyin athet ahin, dihta a akilep-toa akite teng Pakai ding in kipa aum-ji'e.
False balances are an abomination before the Lord: but a just weight is acceptable unto him.
2 Kiletsahnan ahin phah teng, mudanan ahin lhut paijin, milung neng ho ding in vang chihna aum jing e.
Wherever pride enters, there will be also disgrace: but the mouth of the lowly meditates wisdom.
3 Midih ho kamkeh loubeh a aum jiu hi, amasang-diuva lamhil a pang ahin, jou le nal’a thuseija lungthim dihlou hin, ajona leh manthahna aso-sah jitauvin ahi.
When a just man dies he leaves regret: but the destruction of the ungodly is speedy, and causes joy.
4 Pathen lunghan niteng, nei le gou iman apang pon, dihna kiti hi thina dinmun a jong huidohna pang ahi.
[Possessions will not profit in a day of wrath, but righteousness will deliver from death. ]
5 Chamdel a um midih chu alampi a-jang in, midihlou vang chu aphatlouna in alhuh denji ahi.
Righteousness traces out blameless paths: but ungodliness encounters unjust dealing.
6 Midihte chu adihna in ahuhdoh jin, jou le nal a thuseina vang chun soh-a apanlo sah ahibouve.
The righteousness of upright men delivers them: but transgressors are caught in their own destruction.
7 Miphalou chu athiteng akinepna jong pannabei ahin, Pathen sumilte dinga kinepna jong pannabei ahi.
At the death of a just man his hope does not perish: but the boast of the ungodly perishes.
8 Midih chu gim le hesohna kon in akihuhdoh jin, miphalou vang chu gim le hesohna’a alhalut jitai.
A righteous man escapes from a snare, and the ungodly man is delivered up in his place.
9 Pathen sumil mi chun aheng akom manthana ding jeng asei jin, hinlah hetkhenna thahat nei jeh in, midih te huhdoh in aum-jin ahi.
In the mouth of ungodly men is a snare to citizens: but the understanding of righteous men is prosperous.
10 Midih hon aphalam amano teng, khopi sunga mihemte akipah un, midihlou ho chunga manthahna alhun teng, mi akipah jin ahi.
In the prosperity of righteous men a city prospers: but by the mouth of ungodly men it is overthrown.
11 Midih ho chunga phattheina jal in, khopi sung mite dopsang in aum un, hinlah midihlou ho thumot sei jeh’in khopi amangthah bep jin ahi.
[At the blessing of the upright a city shall be exalted. ]
12 Aheng akom hebol lou-pachu milungthim bei ahin, thil hetkhenna neipa vang chu thipbeh chan aum jin ahi.
A man void of understanding sneers at [his fellow] citizens: but a sensible man is quiet.
13 Muntinna thu seilepa chun thuguh jeng jong aseidoh jin, hinlah tahsan theitah mi vang chun thuguh kiti a-im jon ahi.
A double-tongued man discloses the [secret] counsels of an assembly: but he that is faithful in spirit conceals matters.
14 Kilamhilna aum louteng mipi kipal tei ding, guhthim cha kithuhilna achun bitna aum teijin ahi.
They that have no guidance fall like leaves: but in much counsel there is safety.
15 Jin dinga thil man kitung chun atohga amu tei ding, thil man tun ding deiloupa vang chu hoidoh tei ding ahi.
A bad man does harm wherever he meets a just man: and he hates the sound of safety.
16 Mi ngailuthem numei chu jana chang tei ding, gitlouna vang chun noisena dimset akimu ding ahi.
A gracious wife brings glory to her husband: but a woman hating righteousness is a theme of dishonour. The slothful come to want: but the diligent support themselves with wealth.
17 Mi ngailuthem chun phatchomna atoh doh ahin, mi kilose vang chun maha akilam doh-ji ahi.
A merciful man does good to his own soul: but the merciless destroys his own body.
18 Miphalou in jou le nal in tohman amujin, midih vang chun muchi pha atun aga alou jitan ahi.
An ungodly man performs unrighteous works: but the seed of the righteous is a reward of truth.
19 Thildih tuhchah a ngailu chun hinna anei tei ding, aphalou lam jenga chepa chu thitei ding ahi.
A righteous son is born for life: but the persecution of the ungodly [ends] in death.
20 Alungthim a thildih lou puho Pakaiyin athet in, achena lam lam’a chamdel’a umte chunga Pakai akipah jing in ahi.
Perverse ways are an abomination to the Lord: but all they that are blameless in their ways are acceptable to him.
21 Hechin soh keijun, mi koihile engsetna nei chun talen amat ding, midihte vang huhdoh-a um teidiu ahi.
He that unjustly strikes hands shall not be unpunished: but he that sows righteousness he shall receive a faithful reward.
22 Limgeh a umlou numei kitihi vohpi nahko sunga sana chao kiba bep kheh ahi.
As an ornament in a swine's snout, so is beauty to an ill-minded women.
23 Midih ho dei le ngai chu, apha cha cha jeng ahin, midihlou ho kinepna vang chu lungsatna jeng ahibouve.
All the desire of the righteous is good: but the hope of the ungodly shall perish.
24 Itcha louhel’a hongphal mi chu ahao cheh cheh jin, mihem koi hileh apeh ding kisan nunglah achu lhasam cheh cheh ding ahi.
There are [some] who scatter their own, and make it more: and there are [some] also who gather, [yet] have less.
25 Mi hongphal chun anei be cheh cheh ding, mi dang dinga twi chap chan chu ama chunga jong kichap ding ahi.
Every sincere soul is blessed: but a passionate man is not graceful.
26 Chang hom-lou a koitup chah khehpa chu mipi sapset chang ding, hinlah kiphal tah’a chang homdohpa chunga vang phattheina lhung ding ahi.
May he that hoards corn leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives [it].
27 Giltah’a thilpha ngaito pan, lungkimna aneijin, thilpha lou jong chu aphaloupa chunga aga chu-jitan ahi.
He that devises good [counsels] seeks good favour: but [as for] him that seeks after evil, [evil] shall overtake him.
28 Nei le gou’a kisongpa chu ahomkeuva um tei ding, midihte vang thingna banga nou jing diu ahi.
He that trusts in wealth shall fall; but he that helps righteous men shall rise.
29 Mi koi hileh a-insung vaihom tup lou chu huija leng le tobangbep ahin, chule mingol chun miching ho jenlea pang tei ding ahi.
He that deals not graciously with his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise man.
30 Midih natoh chu hinna thingphung ga tobang asoh jin, pannabeija kichihsahna hin hinkho manthahna alhut jin ahi.
Out of the fruit of righteousness grows a tree of life; but the souls of transgressors are cut off before their time.
31 Leiset’a midih jeng bon akile thuh theileh, miphalou chunga ichan geija lhung ding hitam chule achonsete chunga ichan gei lhung ding hitam!
If the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
