< Matthai 17 >

1 Khohnin hnin rhuk phoeiah Jesuh loh Peter, James neh a mana Johan te a khuen tih amih te tlang sang sola hloep a khuen.
And after days six takes with [Him] Jesus Peter and James and John the brother of him and brings up them into a mountain high on [their] own.
2 Te vaengah Jesuh tah amih kah hmaiah thohai uh tih, a maelhmai te khomik bangla sae. A himbai tah hmaivang bangla a bok la om.
And He was transfigured before them, and shone the face of Him like the sun, and the clothes of Him (he became *NK+o) white as the light.
3 Te vaengah Moses neh Elijah te amih taengah pakcak ha thoeng tih Boeipa nehhmaih cal uh.
And behold (it appeared *N+kO) to them Moses and Elijah talking with Him.
4 Te dongah Peter loh Jesuh te a doo tih, “Boeipa heah he mamih om ham then tih, na ngaih atah dap pathum ah pahoi ka saii eh?, nang ham pakhat, Moses ham pakhat, Elijah ham pakhat saeh,” a ti nah.
Answering now Peter said to Jesus; Lord, good it is for us here to be. If You wish, (I will make *N+KO) here three tabernacles, for You one and for Moses one and for Elijah one.
5 Peter a cal li vaengah aka phaa khomai loh amih te a dah. Te vaengah khomai khui lamkah ol loh, “He tah ka capa thintlo ni, a soah ka lungtlun, a ol hnatun pa uh, “tarha a ti.
While yet when he is speaking behold a cloud bright overshadowed them, and behold a voice out of the cloud saying; This is the Son of Mine the beloved in whom I am well pleased; do listen to Him.
6 Hnukbang rhoek loh a yaak vaengah a maelhmai a buenglueng uh tih bahoeng a rhih uh.
And having heard [it] the disciples fell upon face of them and were terrified greatly.
7 Tedae Jesuh loh amih te a paan tih a taek phoeiah, “Thoo uh rhih uh boeh,” a ti nah.
And (he came *N+kO) Jesus, and (having touched *N+kO) them He said; do rise up and not do be afraid.
8 A mik a huel uh daengah Jesuh amah bueng pawt atah uh khaw hmu uh pawh.
Having lifted up and the eyes of them no [one] they saw only except (Himself *N+kO) Jesus alone.
9 Tlang lamloh a suntlak uh vaengah amih te Jesuh loh a uen tih, “Mangthui he Hlang Capa duek lamloh a thoh hlan atah thui boeh,” a ti nah.
And when are descending they (from *N+kO) the mountain instructed them Jesus saying; To no one shall tell the vision until that the Son of Man out from [the] dead (may be risen. *N+kO)
10 Te dongah hnukbang rhoek loh Jesuh te a dawt uh tih, “Balae tih cadaek rhoek loh, ' Elijah he ha pawk lamhma ham a kuek,’ a ti uh?” a ti nah.
And asked Him the disciples (of him *ko) saying; Why then the scribes say that Elijah it behooves to come first?
11 Te vaengah Jesuh loh a doo tih, “Elijah tah ha pawk ngawn coeng tih boeih a thoh pawn ni.
And (Jesus *k) answering He said (to them: *k) Elijah indeed comes (first *K) and will restore all things;
12 Tedae nangmih taengah kan thui, Elijah tah ha pawk oepsoeh dae anih te hmat uh pawt tih a ngaih uh sarhui neh Johan te a saii uh. Tangkhuet la hlang capa loh amih kah nganboh a yok tom coeng,” a ti nah.
I say however to you that Elijah already is come, and not they knew him but did to him as much as they desired; Thus also the Son of Man is about to suffer from them.
13 Te daengah amih ham tuinuem Johan kawng ni a thui pah te hnukbang rhoek loh a hmuhming uh.
Then understood the disciples that concerning John the Baptist He spoke to them.
14 Hlangping taengla a pawk uh vaengah anih te hlang pakhat loh a paan.
And when were coming (they *k) to the crowd came to Him a man kneeling down ([to] Him *N+kO) and saying;
15 A taengah cungkueng tih, “Boeipa ka ca he rhen mai, rhaihum dongah bahoeng patang coeng, tui khuila, hmai khuila cungku taitu coeng.
Lord, do have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and miserably (suffers; *NK+O) often for he falls into the fire and often into the water.
16 Anih he na hnukbang rhoek taengla ka khuen dae a hoeih sak uh thai moenih,” a ti nah.
And I brought him to the disciples of You, and not they were able him to heal.
17 Jesuh loh a doo tih, “Aka tangnahmueh kah cadil neh aka pamdah aw, nangmih taengah meyet nim ka om eh? Nangmih te meyet nim kan yaknaem ve, anih te kamah taengla pahoi hang khuen,” a ti nah.
Answering now Jesus said; O generation unbelieving and perverted, until when with you will I be? Until when will I bear with you? do bring to Me him here.
18 Te phoeiah Jesuh loh rhaithae te a ho tih rhaithae loh camoe te a nong tak. Te dongah te vaeng tue lamloh camoe te hoeih.
And rebuked him Jesus, and went out from him the demon, and was healed the boy from the hour that.
19 Te phoeiah hnukbang rhoek loh Jesuh te hloep a paan uh tih, “Balae tih anih te ka haek uh thai pawh,” a ti na uh.
Then having come the disciples to Jesus in private they said; Because of why we ourselves not were able to cast out it?
20 Te dongah, “Nangmih kah hnalvalnah kongah ni. Nangmih taengah rhep ka thui, mukang mu bang mah tangnah na khueh koinih, hekah tlang he kela thoeih na ti vaengah thoeih vetih na tloel tlaih mahpawh,” a ti nah.
And (Jesus *k) (spoke *N+kO) to them; Because of the (little faith *N+KO) of you. Amen for I say to you; If you shall have faith as a seed of mustard, you will say to the mountain to this; do move (from here *N+kO) to there, and it will move; And no [thing] will be impossible for you.
21 Tedae, thangthuinah neh yaehnah nen pawt koinih hebang he poengla coe thai mahpawh
(this now kind not goes out only except with prayer and with fastings. *KO)
22 Galilee ah a sisuk uh vaengah Jesuh loh amih te, “Hlang capa tah hlang kut ah a voeih tom coeng.
(When are abiding *N+KO) now they in Galilee said to them Jesus; Is about the Son of Man to be betrayed into [the] hands of men,
23 Anih te a ngawn uh vetih a thum hnin ah thoo ni,” a ti nah tih mat a khothae uh.
and they will kill Him, and on the third day He will be raised up. And they were grieved deeply.
24 Kapernaum la a pawk uh vaengah cawn aka doe rhoek loh Peter te a paan uh tih, “Na saya loh cawn a paek moenih?” a ti nah.
When are coming now they to Capernaum came those the didrachmas collecting to Peter and said; The Teacher of you surely he pays the didrachmas?
25 Peter loh, “Ue,” a ti nah. Im la a pawk uh vaengah Jesuh loh a khal tih, “Simon, nang balae na poek? Diklai manghai rhoek loh u taengkah lamkhong neh mangmu lae a loh? Amih ca rhoek lamkah a? hlanglang lamkah a?” a ti nah.
He says; Yes. And (when *k) (he having entered *N+kO) into the house anticipated him Jesus saying; What you do think, Simon? The kings of the earth from whom do they receive custom or tribute? From the sons of them or from strangers?
26 “Hlanglang taengkah,” a ti nah hatah Jesuh loh, “Te dongah a ca ni aka loeih.
(When saying *N+kO) (now *no) (he, Peter *k) From the strangers, one was saying to him Jesus; Then surely free are the sons.
27 Te cakhaw amih te n'khah ham om pawh. Tuili la cet lamtah ngavaih te voei uh. Te vaengah nga aka loe lamhma te lo uh. Tedae a ka a ang vaengah tangka na hmuh ni. Te te lo lamtah nang neh kai ham amih te pae,” a ti nah.
That however not we may offend them, having gone to sea do cast a hook and the (having raised *NK+o) first fish do take; and having opened the mouth of it you will find a four-drachma coin. That [which] having taken do give to them for Me and yourself.
