3 Tedae amih te a doo tih, “Namamih kah singyoe kongah Pathen kah olpaek te balae tih na aek uh van?
And He answering said to them, “Why also do you transgress the command of God because of your tradition?
4 Pathen loh, ‘Na nu neh na pa te hinyah lah. Tedae manu napa aka thet tah dueknah neh duek saeh,’ a ti.
For God commanded, saying, Honor your father and mother; and, He who is speaking evil of father or mother—let him die the death;
5 Tedae nangmih loh, 'Hoeikhang vaengah tah, 'Manu napa khaw, te te kamah lamkah hmueih ni,’ a ti coeng atah,

and he may not honor his father or his mother, and you set aside the command of God because of your tradition.
7 Hlangthai palat rhoek, Isaiah loh nangmih kawng te phek a phong tih,
Hypocrites, Isaiah prophesied well of you, saying,
8 Pilnam long he a hmui neh kan n'hinyah uh. Tedae a thinko tah kai lamloh voelh hla coeng.
This people draws near to Me with their mouth, and with the lips it honors Me, but their heart is far off from Me;
9 A poeyoek la kai m'bawk uh tih hlang kah olpaek lamkah thuituennah neh a thuituen uh,’ a ti,” a ti nah.
and in vain they worship Me, teaching teachings—commands of men.”
10 Te phoeiah hlangping te a khue tih, “Hnatun lamtah hmuhming uh lah.
And having called near the multitude, He said to them, “Hear and understand:
11 Ka khuila aka kun loh hlang a poeih moenih. Tedae ka lamkah aka thoeng loh hlang a poeih,” a ti nah.
[it is] not that which is coming into the mouth [that] defiles the man, but that which is coming forth from the mouth, this defiles the man.”

And He answering said, “Every plant that My heavenly Father did not plant will be rooted up;

Do you not understand that all that is going into the mouth passes into the belly, and is cast forth into the drain?
18 Tedae ka lamkah aka thoeng tah thinko lamkah ha thoeng dongah hlang a poeih.
But the things coming forth from the mouth come forth from the heart, and these defile the man;
19 Poeknah a thae, ngawnnah, samphaihnah, Cukhalnah, huencannah, a honghi neh soehsalnah he thinko lamkah ni ha thoeng.
for out of the heart come forth evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, whoredoms, thefts, false witnessings, slanders:
20 Hekah rhoek long ni hlang a poeih. Tedae kut muen a la aka ca loh hlang a poeih moenih,” a ti nah.
these are the things defiling the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
