< Marku 8 >

1 Te khohnin ah hlangping te hut koep om tih caak koi ba khaw khueh uh pawh.
In those days the multitude being very great, and not having what they may eat, Jesus having called near His disciples, says to them,
2 Hnukbang rhoek te a khue tih, “Kai taengah hnin thum rhaeh uh coeng tih caak bakhaw a khueh uh voel pawt dongah he hlangping ham ka thinphat.
“I have compassion on the multitude, because now three days they continue with Me, and they have not what they may eat;
3 Te dongah a im ah buhmueh rhathih la amih ka tueih koinih longpueng ah tawnba uh ni. Amih khuikah hlangvang tah khohla lamkah ha pawk uh,” a ti nah.
and if I will let them away fasting to their home, they will faint in the way, for certain of them are come from far.”
4 A hnukbang rhoek long khaw, “He rhoek he kohong ah me lamkah buh nim hlang loh a cah thai eh he?” a ti uh.
And His disciples answered Him, “From where will anyone be able to feed these here in a wilderness with bread?”
5 Te dongah amih te, “Vaidam meyet na khueh uh?,” a ti nah hatah, “Parhih,” a ti uh.
And He was questioning them, “How many loaves do you have?” And they said, “Seven.”
6 Te dongah hlangping te diklai ah ngol ham a uen. Te phoeiah vaidam parhih te a loh tih a uem tih a aeh. Te daengah hlangping taengah tael hamla a hnukbang rhoek te a paek tih a tael uh.
And He commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground, and having taken the seven loaves, having given thanks, He broke, and was giving to His disciples that they may set before [them]; and they set before the multitude.
7 Te phoeiah ngadik a yool a khueh uh te khaw a uem tih amih te, “He khaw tael uh,” a ti nah.
And they had a few small fishes, and having blessed, He said to set them also before [them];
8 A caak uh tih a hah uh phoeiah a nueipil aka coih te voh rhih la a phueih uh.
and they ate and were filled, and they took up that which was over of broken pieces—seven baskets;
9 Te vaengah thawngli tluk om uh.
and those eating were about four thousand. And He let them away,
10 Amih a hlah phoeiah tah lawng khuila tlek kun tih a hnukbang rhoek neh Dalmanutha paengpang la pawk.
and immediately having entered into the boat with His disciples, He came to the parts of Dalmanutha,
11 Te vaengah Pharisee rhoek te cet uh tih Jesuh te koe a oelh uh. Vaan lamkah miknoek te anih taengah a toem uh tih a noemcai uh.
and the Pharisees came forth, and began to dispute with Him, seeking from Him a sign from Heaven, tempting Him;
12 Tedae a lungbuei ah huei tih, “Balae hekah cadil loh miknoek a toem. Nangmih taengah rhep ka thui, Hekah cadil he miknoek tueng ham moenih,” a ti.
and having sighed deeply in His spirit, He says, “Why does this generation seek after a sign? Truly I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.”
13 Te dongah amih te a toeng phoeiah koep kun tih rhalvangan la kat.
And having left them, having entered again into the boat, He went away to the other side;
14 Te vaengah buh khuen ham a hmaai uh dongah lawng khuikah amih taengah vaidam pakhat bueng pawt atah atloe khueh uh pawh.
and they forgot to take loaves, and except one loaf they had nothing with them in the boat,
15 Te vaengah amih te ol a paek tih, “Ngaithuen uh, Pharisee rhoek kah tolrhu neh Herod kah tolrhu te hmat uh,” a ti nah.
and He was charging them, saying, “Take heed, beware of the leaven of the Pharisees, and of the leaven of Herod,”
16 Te vaengah vaidam a khueh uh pawt te amamih khuiah dawtlet uh thae.
and they were reasoning with one another, saying, “Because we have no loaves.”
17 Tedae a ming dongah amih te, “Balae tih vaidam na khueh uh pawt te na thuiuh. Na yakming uh pawt tih, na hmuhming uh thlan a? Na thinko te mangkhak la vawk khueh uh ne.
And Jesus having known, says to them, “Why do you reason, because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive, nor understand, yet have you hardened your heart?
18 Mik aka khueh rhoek loh na hmuh uh voel pawt tih hna aka khueh rhoek loh na yaak uh pawt dongah na poek uh moenih.
Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear? And do you not remember?
19 Thawngnga ham vaidam panga ka aeh vaengah a nueipil na phueih uh te voh meyet a bae?” a ti nah hatah Jesuh taengah, “Hlainit,” a ti nauh.
When I broke the five loaves to the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They say to Him, “Twelve.”
20 “Thawngli ham parhih vaengah a nueipil na phueih uh te voh meyet a bae?” a ti nah hatah Jesuh taengah, “Parhih,” a ti nauh.
“And when the seven to the four thousand, how many hand-baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.”
21 Te phoeiah amih te, “Na hmuhming uh hlan a?,” a ti nah.
And He said to them, “How do you not understand?”
22 Bethsaida la a caeh uh vaengah mikdael te Jesuh taengla a khuen uh tih anih te taek sak ham a bih uh.
And He comes to Bethsaida, and they bring to Him one blind, and call on Him that He may touch him,
23 Te dongah mikdael kah kut te a tuuk tih kho voella a khuen tih a mik ah a timthoeih. A kut te a tloeng thil phoeiah, “Khat khat khaw na hmuh maia?” tila a dawt.
and having taken the hand of the blind man, He led him forth outside the village, and having spit on his eyes, having put [His] hands on him, He was questioning him if he beholds anything:
24 Te dongah oeloe tih, “Hlang rhoek te ka sawt dae thingkung aka cet bangla ka hmuh,” a ti nah.
and he, having looked up, said, “I behold men, as I see trees, walking.”
25 Tedae a mik te a kut koep a tloeng pah thil daengah a cil pah tih a hoeih pah tih phaeng boeih a hmuh.
Afterward again He put [His] hands on his eyes, and made him look up, and he was restored, and discerned all things clearly,
26 Tedae anih a im la a tueih vaengah tah, “Vangca la kun boeh,” a ti nah.
and He sent him away to his house, saying, “Neither may you go into the village, nor tell [it] to any in the village.”
27 Jesuh neh a hnukbang rhoek tah Kaisarea Philip kah kho la a caeh uh vaengah longpueng ah a hnukbang rhoek te a dawt tih, “Kai he hlang loh ulae a ti uh,” a ti nah.
And Jesus went forth, and His disciples, into the villages of Caesarea Philippi, and in the way He was questioning His disciples, saying to them, “Who do men say I am?”
28 Te dongah amah te, “Pakhat loh tuinuem Johan, pakhat loh Elijah, tedae pakhat loh tonghma rhoek khuikah pakhat khat a ti uh,” a ti nauh.
And they answered, “John the Immerser, and others Elijah, but others one of the prophets.”
29 Jesuh loh amih te, “Nangmih ta kai he ulae na ti uh?” tila a dawt. Peter loh a doo tih, “Nang tah Khrih ni,” a ti nah.
And He says to them, “And you—who do you say I am?” And Peter answering says to him, “You are the Christ.”
30 Te vaengah amah kawng te thui pawt ham amih te a uen.
And He strictly charged them that they may tell no one about it,
31 Te phoeiah amih taengah hlang capa te muep a patang ham neh patong rhoek loh a hnawt ham khaw, khosoihham rhoek neh cadaek rhoek loh a ngawn phoeikah hnin thum ah a thoh ham khaw a kuek te koe a thuituen.
and began to teach them that it is necessary for the Son of Man to suffer many things, and to be rejected by the elders, and chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to rise again after three days;
32 Te vaengah ol te sayalh la a thui dongah Peter loh Jesuh te a khue tih koe a toel.
and openly He was speaking the word. And Peter having taken Him aside, began to rebuke Him,
33 Tedae Jesuh loh mael tih a hnukbang rhoek te a sawt doeah Peter te a tluung tih, “Satan, Pathen te na poek pawt tih hlang te na poek dongah ka hnuk la nong,” a ti nah.
and He, having turned, and having looked on His disciples, rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan, because you do not mind the things of God, but the things of men.”
34 Te phoeiah a hnukbang rhoek neh hlangping te a khue tih, “Khat khat loh kai hnukah vai ham a ngaih atah amah a huek uh phoeiah a thinglam te kawt saeh lamtah kai m'vai saeh.
And having called near the multitude, with His disciples, He said to them, “Whoever wills to come after Me—let him disown himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me;
35 Amah khaw a hinglu te khang ham aka ngaih tah a hlong ni. Tedae amah khaw kai neh olthangthen ham a hinglu aka hlong tah daem ni.
for whoever may will to save his life will lose it; and whoever may lose his life for My sake and for the good news’ sake, he will save it;
36 Hlang pakhat te Diklai pum a dang dae a hinglu te a hlong atah balae a hoeikhang?
for what will it profit a man, if he may gain the whole world, and forfeit his life?
37 Hlang loh a hinglu ham balae tlansum la a phai eh?
Or what will a man give as an exchange for his life?
38 He suentae lakliah kamah neh ka ol aka yah puei te tah samphaih neh hlangtholh la om coeng. Hlang capa loh a napa kah thangpomnah dongah hlangcim rhoek kah puencawn rhoek neh ha pawk vaengah anih te a yah puei van ni,” a ti nah.
For whoever may be ashamed of Me, and of My words, in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He may come in the glory of His Father with the holy messengers.”
