< 1 Timothy 5 >

1 Patong te tluung boeh. Tedae pa pakhat bangla, tanoe thai manuca bangla hloephoelh lah.
An elder not you may rebuke but do exhort [him] as a father, younger [men] as brothers,
2 Hamca te manu bangla, tanoe rhoek te ngannu rhoek bangla cilpoenah cungkuem neh hloep.
elder [women] as mothers, [and] younger [women] as sisters in all purity.
3 Nuhmai rhoek khaw nuhmai taktak te tah hinyah lah.
Widows do honor who [are] truly widows.
4 Tedae nuhmai khat khat loh a ca rhoek mai khaw a cadil rhoek mai khaw a khueh atah amah imkhui ah thothueng ham neh buhungnah te a manu napa taengah thuung ham lamhma la cang sak. He tah Pathen hmuhah mikcop la om.
If however any widow children or grandchildren has, they should learn first [her] own household to be devout and recompense to give to parents; this for is (good and *K) pleasing before God.
5 Tedae nuhmai taktak tih aka omdam loh Pathen soah lat a ngaiuep tih rhenbihnah neh thangthuinah dongah khoyin khothaih om.
She who [is] now indeed a widow and abandoned she has hope in God and she continues in supplications and in prayers by night and day;
6 Tedae omthen aka bawn tah a hing pueng thuem ah duek coeng.
She however living in self-indulgence [while] living has died.
7 Te rhoek khaw na uen daengah ni hmabuet la a om uh eh.
Also these things do command, so that above reproach they may be.
8 Tedae khat khat loh amah huiko neh olpuei la imkhuikho te kho a khan pawt atah tangnah te a hno tih aka tangnahmueh lakah a thae la om.
If now anyone [their] own and especially (of the *k) [their] household not (does provide for, *N+kO) the faith he has denied and he is than an unbeliever worse.
9 Nuhmai la hlum ham tah kum sawmrhuk hmuiah om mahpawh. Va pakhat bueng aka khueh huta,
A widow should ld be enrol not less than years [old] sixty having been of one man [the] wife,
10 Ca a khut atah, yinlai a sawtlet atah, hlangcim rhoek kah kho a silh atah, aka patang rhoek te a sawtlet atah, khoboe then cungkuem neh a rhoih atah khoboe then la phong pai saeh.
in works good being borne witness to, if she has brought up children, if she entertained strangers, if saints’ feet she has washed, if to those being oppressed she has imparted relief, if to every work good she has followed after.
11 Tedae a haw vaengah tah Khrih hmanah vasak a ngaih dongah nuhmai tanoe rhoek te rhoe dae.
Younger however widows do refuse; when for they may grow wanton against Christ, to marry they desire
12 Lamhma kah tangnah te a phae uh dongah laitloeknah a yook uh.
incurring judgment because the first faith they have cast off;
13 Te vaengah palyal khaw pahoi a cang uh, im te a hil uh. Te bueng pawt tih palyal neh hlangthet vueihnam, tomban rhuikha neh a kuek pawt te a thui uh.
At the same time then also [to be] idle they learn going about house to house. not only then idle, but also gossips and busybodies, speaking [things] not being proper.
14 Te dongah tanoe rhoek tah vasak sak ham, cacun sak ham, cangbam sak ka ngaih. Thuithetnah dongah thimkalh te rhoirhinah paek ham moenih.
I want therefore [the] younger [ones] to marry, to bear children, to manage their households, no occasion to give to the [one] opposing of reproach because;
15 Hlangvang loh Satan hnukah oepsoeh la hoi uh.
Already for some have turned aside after Satan.
16 Uepom pakhat loh nuhmai rhoek a khueh atah amih te sawtlet saeh lamtah hlangboel te bakbahap boel saeh. Te daengah ni nuhmai tang rhoek te a sawtlet thai eh.
If any (faithful or *K) believing [woman] has [dependent] widows, (she should help *NK+o) to them and not should be burdened the church, so that to those [who are] truly widows it may impart relief.
17 A then la aka mawt patong neh olpuei la olka neh thuituennah dongah aka thakthae rhoek tah rhaepnit la hinyahnah ham tueng pai.
The well already ruling elders of double honor should be counted worthy especially those straining in [the] word and [the] teaching;
18 Cacim loh a ti coeng ta. Cangtil vaito pin boeh, “Bibikung tah a thapang nen khaw tiing pai.”
Says for the Scripture; An ox treading out grain not you will muzzle; and Worthy [is] the workman of the wages of him.
19 Laipai panit pathum pawt atah a ham kah lai te doe boeh.
Against an elder an accusation not do receive unless only except upon two or three witnesses.
20 Aka tholh rhoek te hlang boeih hmaiah na toeltham daengah ni a tloe long khaw rhihnah a khueh eh.
(now *o) sinning before all do rebuke, so that also the rest fear may have.
21 Pathen, Khrih Jesuh neh puencawn a coelh rhoek kah a hmaiah ka laipai. He rhoek he hlaangnah kolla tuem mai, maelhmai sawt nen khaw saii boeh.
I earnestly testify before God and (Lord *K) Christ Jesus and the elect angels that these things you may keep apart from prejudice nothing doing out of partiality.
22 Kut he tokrhat la tloeng thil boeh. Hlanglang rhoek kah tholhnah te boek pah boeh. Namah te a cuem la tuem uh.
Hands soon on no one do lay nor do share in [the] sins of others, yourself pure do keep.
23 Tui bueng te o boeh. Tedae na bung dongah puet na tloh te khaw misurtui bet saem pah.
No longer do drink [only] water, but wine a little do use because of the stomach (of you *K) and the frequent of you ailments.
24 Hlang a ngen kah tholhnah tah laitloeknah la a pha hlanah lohaa coeng. Tedae a ngen kah tah a hnong pah.
Of some men the sins manifest are going before [them] to judgment; of some however also they appear later.
25 Khoboe then khaw lohaa van. Te dongah thuh hamla tloekloek aka om rhoek loh noeng uh pawh.
Likewise also the works good evident (is *k) and even those otherwise being to be concealed not (are able. *N+kO)
