< 1 Khawrin 14 >

do earnestly pursue love; do earnestly desire now spiritual gifts, especially now that you may prophesy.
The [one] for speaking in a tongue not to men speaks but to God; no [one] for hears, in the Spirit however he utters mysteries;
3 Te dongah aka phong loh hlang ham hlinsainah, thaphohnah neh suemnah khaw a thui.
The [one] however prophesying to men speaks [for] edification and encouragement and consolation.
4 Ol aka thui tah amah hlinsai uh dae aka phong long tah hlangboel te a hlinsai.
The [one] speaking in a tongue himself edifies, the [one] however prophesying [the] church edifies.
Aka phong tah ol aka thui lakah tanglue. A thuicaih pawt atah hlangboel loh hlinsainah dang hae mahpawh.
I desire now all you to speak in tongues, rather however that you may prophesy; greater [is] (now *N+kO) the [one] prophesying than the [one] speaking in tongues except only unless (he shall interpret, *NK+o) so that the church edification may receive.
6 Tedae manuca rhoek, tahae ah nangmih taengla ol tloe la ka cal tih nangmih ham pumphoenah nen khaw, mingnah nen khaw, tonghma ol nen khaw, thuituennah nen khaw ka thui mueh la, ka lo koinih nangmih ham balae ka hoeikhang?
(now *N+kO) however brothers, if I shall come to you in tongues speaking, what you will I profit, only unless to you I shall speak either in revelation or in knowledge or in prophecy or in teaching?
7 Thingkoh phavit neh rhotoeng pataeng khaw ol cai dae oldi te a lang la cai pawt koinih phavi tum te khaw rhotoeng tum te metlam m'ming eh.
Even lifeless things a sound giving, whether flute or harp, if distinction to the sounds not (they shall give, *NK+O) how will it be known what is being piped or what is being harped?
8 Te dongah olueng khaw a ol lumrhilumrha la cai koinih ulae caemthoh ham a tawn uh eh?
Also for if indistinct [the] trumpet sound shall give, who will prepare himself for battle?
So also you yourselves with the tongue only unless intelligible speech you shall give, how will it be known what [is] being spoken? You will be for into [the] air speaking.
10 Diklai ah namtom ol te om tih heyet a dang mai ni. Tedae olmueh la a om moenih.
So many if it would be kinds of languages (there are *N+kO) in [the] world, and none (of them *k) without meaning;
If therefore not I shall know the power of the sound, I will be to the [one] speaking a foreigner and the [one] speaking to me myself a foreigner;
So also you yourselves, since zealous you are of spiritual gifts, for the edification of the church do seek that you may exceed.
13 Te dongah ol aka cal tah a thangthui daengah ni a thuicaih thai eh.
(For *N+kO) the [one] speaking in a tongue he should pray that he may interpret.
14 Ol tloe neh ka thangthui coeng atah ka mueihla khaw thangthui dae ka lungbuei tah a tlongtlai la om.
If for I shall pray in a tongue, the spirit of mine prays, but the mind of mine unfruitful is.
What then is it? I will pray with the spirit, I will pray however also with the mind; I will sing praise with the spirit, I will sing praise however also with the mind.
16 Te vaengah mueihla neh na uem koinih hlangthawt hmuen kah aka tomthap loh nang kah uemonah te metlam amen a ti eh. Na thui te a ming hae moenih ta.
Otherwise if (you shall bless in [the] *N+kO) spirit, the [one] filling the place of the uninstructed how will he say the Amen at your thanksgiving? since what you say [is that] not he knows;
17 Nang loh na uem te then ngawn dae hlang tloe te a hlinsai moenih.
You yourself truly for well are giving thanks, but the other not is edified.
18 Nangmih boeih lakah ol ka thui tih Pathen te ka uem.
I thank the God (of mine *k) than all of you more (in tongues *NK+O) (speaking; *N+kO)
but in [the] church I desire five words (through *k) (the with mind *N+kO) of mine to speak that also others I may instruct, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 Manuca rhoek, kopoeknah dongah camoe la om uh boeh. Phayoenah ham khaw camoe na diik uh dae kopoeknah dongah lungcuei la om uh.
Brothers, not children do be in the minds, Yet in the evil do be little children, in the however thinking full grown do be.
21 Olkhueng dongah Boeipa loh, “Pilnam he kholong ol nen khaw, hlang tloe kah hmui ka nen khaw ka voek sui dae kai ol he hnatun uh hae mahpawh,” tila a daek.
In the law it has been written that By other tongues and by lips (of others *N+KO) I will speak to the people this, and not even thus will they hear Me, says [the] Lord.
22 Te dongah ol tloe he aka tangnah rhoek ham miknoek la om pawt dae aka tangnahmueh rhoek ham ni a om. Tedae tonghma ol tah aka tangnahmueh rhoek ham pawt tih aka tangnah rhoek ham ni.
So then tongues for a sign are not to those believing but to the unbelieving, but prophecy [is] not to the unbelieving but to the believing.
23 Te dongah hlangboel tah a pum la khoong tih ol a thui paluep uh. Tedae hlangthawt neh aka tangnahmueh rhoek ha kun uh koinih na ang uh coeng tila thui uh mahpawt nim?
If therefore shall gather the church whole together the place and all shall speak in tongues may come in however uninstructed ones or unbelievers, surely they will say that you are mad?
24 Te phoeiah hlang boeih loh olphong koinih aka tangnahmueh hlangvang neh hlangthawt a kun vaengah, hlang boeih lamloh a toeltham ni. Hlang boeih lamloh a boelh ni.
If however all shall prophesy, shall come in then some unbeliever or uninstructed, he is convicted by all, he is examined by all,
25 A thinko kah a huephael te mingpha la a om vaengah a maelhmai buenglueng vetih Pathen a bawk ni. Pathen tah nangmih taengah om taktak tila puen ni.
(and thus *K) the secrets of the heart of him manifest become, And thus having fallen upon [his] face he will worship God declaring that certainly God among you is.
26 Te phoeiah balae aka om pueng? Manuca rhoek, na khoong uh vaengah tingtoeng rhip a khueh, thuituennah a khueh, pumphoenah a khueh, ol a khueh, a kongnah a khueh te hlinsainah ham boeih om saeh.
What then is it, brothers? When you may come together, each (of you *K) a psalm has, a teaching has, a revelation has, a tongue has, an interpretation has; All things for edification (should be. *N+kO)
27 Khat khat loh ol a thui atah panit neh a yet koek pathum loh tloeptloep ah thui saeh lamtah pakhat loh thuicaih saeh.
If with a tongue anyone speaks, [let it be] by two or the most three and in turn; and one should interpret;
28 Tedae thuicaihkung a om pawt atah hlangboel khuiah kamkhuem saeh lamtah amah neh Pathen taengah thui saeh.
If however not there shall be an interpreter, he should be silent in [the] church, to himself then he should speak and to God.
29 Tonghma tah panit, pathum khaw thui sak uh lamtah a tloe rhoek loh boelhkhoeh saeh.
Prophets then two or three should speak, and the others should discern;
30 Tedae aka ngol loh hlang tloe taengah a pumphoe atah lamhma loh kamkhuem saeh.
If however to another a revelation shall be made sitting by, the first should be silent.
31 Pakhat phoeiah pakhat boeih na phong uh thai daengah ni boeih a cang uh vetih boeih a thaphoh uh eh.
You are able for [one] by one all to prophesy, so that all may learn and all may be exhorted;
32 Tonghma rhoek kah mueihla te khaw tonghma rhoek taengah boengai uh saeh.
And spirits of prophets to prophets are subject;
33 Pathen tah soekloeknah pawt tih hlangboel rhoek boeih khuikah hlangcim rhoek vanbangla rhoepnah la om.
Not for He is of disorder the God but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.
34 Huta loh hlangboel khuiah a kamkhuem
the women (of you *K) in the churches they should be silent; Not for (it is allowed *N+kO) to them to speak, but (they should be submitted *N+kO) even as also the law says.
35 uh saeh. Amih a thui sak pawt akhaw olkhueng loh a thui van bangla boengai uh saeh.
If however anything (to learn *NK+o) they desire, at home [their] own husbands they should ask; shameful for it is (for a woman *N+KO) to speak in [the] church.
36 Te dongah khat khat ni cang ham a ngaih uh atah im ah a va te dawt uh saeh. Hlangboel khuiah ol a thui he huta ham rhaidaeng la om.
Or from you the word of God has gone out? Or to you only has it come?
37 Nangmih lamkah Pathen kah olka thoeng a? Te pawt atah nangmih taeng bueng nim ham pha?
If anyone considers a prophet himself to be or spiritual, he should recognize [the] things I write to you that (of the *k) Lord (is [the] command; *N+KO)
38 Khat khat loh tonghma neh mueihla hlang la om ham a poek atah nangmih ham kan daek te Boeipa kah olpaek ni tila ming saeh.
If however anyone is ignorant, (him is ignored. *N+kO)
39 Tedae khat khat long ni a mangvawt atah amah ni a mangvawt coeng.
So, brothers (of mine, *no) do earnestly desire to prophesy, and to speak not do forbid in tongues.
40 Te dongah ka manuca rhoek olphong ham te thahlue sak uh lamtah ol tloe neh thui ham te khaw paa sak boeh. Tedae a cungkuem he aitlaeng bangla tluektluek om saeh.
All things (however *no) properly and with order should be done.
