And when they had escaped, then they knew that the isle was called Melita.
2 ২ তাত থকা স্থানীয় লোক সকলে আমাক বিদেশী বুলি কেৱল মৰম দেখুৱাই নহয়, কিন্তু তেতিয়া ঘন বৰষুণ আৰু জাৰৰ কাৰণে তেওঁলোকে জুই জ্ৱলালে আৰু আমাক মৰমেৰে গ্ৰহন কৰিলে৷
And the barbarous people showed us no little kindness: for they kindled a fire, and received us every one, because of the present rain, and because of the cold.
3 ৩ কিন্তু পৌলে যেতিয়া এমুঠি খৰি গোটাই জুইত দিলে তেতিয়া জুইৰ তাপ পাই এটা ক’লা সাপ ওলাই আহি তেওঁৰ হাতত মেৰিয়াই ধৰিলে৷
And when Paul had gathered a bundle of sticks, and laid them on the fire, there came a viper out of the heat, and fastened on his hand.
4 ৪ তাতে স্থানীয় লোক সকলে তেওঁৰ হাতত সাপ ওলমি থকা দেখি, ইজনে সিজনক কবলৈ ধৰিলে, “এই মানুহ জন নিশ্চয়কৈ এজন হত্যাকাৰী; সাগৰৰ পৰা ৰক্ষা পোৱাৰ পাছতো ন্যায় দিওঁতাই ইয়াক জীয়াই থাকিব নিদিলে৷”
And when the barbarians saw the venomous creature hanging from his hand, they said among themselves, No doubt this man is a murderer, whom, though he hath escaped the sea, yet Vengeance alloweth not to live.
And he shook off the creature into the fire, and felt no harm.
6 ৬ তেতিয়া তাত উপস্থিত থকা লোকসকলে তেওঁৰ গা জ্ৱৰ হৈ উখহি উঠিব বা অকস্মাতে পৰি মৰিব বুলি ভাবিছিল৷ কিন্তু বহু সময় তেওঁৰ একো হোৱা নেদেখি, সিহঁতে মত সলনি কৰি ক’লে যে, “তেওঁ এজন দেৱতা৷”
Yet they looked when he should have swollen, or fallen down dead suddenly: but after they had looked a great while, and saw no harm come to him, they changed their minds, and said that he was a god.
7 ৭ সেই ঠাইৰ ওচৰত পুব্লিয় নামেৰে দ্ৱীপটোৰ প্ৰধান লোক জনৰ মাটি আছিল৷ তেৱেঁই আমাক আদৰণি জনাই, মৰমেৰে তিন দিন আলহী কৰি ৰাখিলে;
In the same quarters were possessions of the chief man of the isle, whose name was Publius; who received us, and lodged us three days courteously.
8 ৮ আৰু সেই সময়তে পুব্লিয়ৰ পিতৃৰ জ্ৱৰ আৰু গ্ৰহণী ৰোগ হৈ আছিল৷ পৌলে তাতে সোমাই গাত হাত দি প্ৰাৰ্থনা কৰি তেওঁক সুস্থ কৰিলে৷
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick with a fever and a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him.
So when this was done, others also, who had diseases in the isle, came, and were healed:
10 ১০ তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে আমাক অনেক আদৰ-সাদৰ কৰিলে আৰু আমাৰ যোৱাৰ সময়তো নানা প্ৰয়োজনীয় বস্তু আনি জাহাজত তুলি দিলে৷
Who also honoured us with many honours; and when we departed, they supplied us with such things as were necessary.
11 ১১ তিনি মাহৰ পাছত আমি আলেকজেন্দ্ৰিয়া নগৰৰ পৰা দিয়স্কৰী, অর্থাৎ যজা লৰাৰ চিন থকা জাহাজ খনত উঠি যাত্ৰা কৰিলোঁ; এই জাহাজ খন জাৰকালি আহি এই দ্ৱীপটোত আছিল৷
And after three months we departed in a ship of Alexandria, which had wintered in the isle, whose sign was Castor and Pollux.
And landing at Syracuse, we tarried there three days.
13 ১৩ তাৰ পৰা যাত্ৰা কৰি আমি ৰীগিয়া নগৰ পালোঁ; এদিন পাছত দক্ষিণৰ বতাহ বলাত, দ্ৱিতীয় দিনা পুতিয়লী নগৰ পালোহি৷
And from there we sailed around, and came to Rhegium: and after one day the south wind blew, and we came the next day to Puteoli:
14 ১৪ তাত কেইবাজনো ভাই পালোঁ, তেওঁলোকে আমাক সাত দিন থাকিবলৈ নিমন্ত্ৰণ দিলে; এইদৰে আমি ৰোমলৈ যাত্ৰা কৰিলোঁ৷
Where we found brethren, and were desired to tarry with them seven days: and so we went toward Rome.
15 ১৫ তাৰ পৰা ভাই সকলে আমাৰ সম্বাদ শুনি আমাক আগবঢ়াই নিবলৈ অপ্পিয় হাট আৰু তিনি চৰাইলৈকে আহিছিল; পৌলে তেওঁলোকক দেখি ঈশ্ৱৰৰ স্তুতি কৰি সাহস পালে৷
And from there, when the brethren heard of us, they came to meet us as far as Appii forum, and The three taverns: whom when Paul saw, he thanked God, and took courage.
And when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard: but Paul was permitted to dwell by himself with a soldier that kept him.
17 ১৭ পাছত তিন দিনৰ মূৰত পৌলে ইহুদী সকলৰ প্ৰধান লোক সকলক মতাই আনি গোট খুৱালে আৰু তেওঁলোক গোট খোৱাত, তেওঁ ক’লে, “হে ভাইসকল, মই মোৰ জাতিৰ নাইবা পূর্বপুৰুষৰ ৰীতিৰ বিৰুদ্ধে একো কৰা নাই; তথাপি যিৰূচালেমৰ পৰা নিয়া হৈ ৰোমীয়া লোক সকলৰ হাতত মই বন্দী হিচাপে সমর্পিত হৈছিলো৷
And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called together the chief of the Jews: and when they were assembled, he said to them, Men, brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet I was delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
18 ১৮ তেখেত সকলে মোৰ সোধ-বিচাৰ কৰি মোক মুক্ত কৰিবলৈ কামনা কৰিলে, কিয়নো মোক প্ৰাণদণ্ড দিয়াৰ একো কাৰণ নাছিল৷
Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.
19 ১৯ কিন্তু যেতিয়া ইহুদী সকলে আপত্তি কৰিলে, মই চীজাৰৰ ওচৰত আপীল কৰিবলৈ বাধ্য হলোঁ; কিন্তু এনে নহয় যে, মই মোৰ জাতিক কোনো অপবাদ দিছিলোঁ৷
But when the Jews spoke against it, I was constrained to appeal to Caesar; not that I had any thing to accuse my nation of.
20 ২০ এই কাৰণে আপোনালোকক চাবলৈ আৰু কথা-বার্ত্তা হবলৈ মাতিলো, কিয়নো ইস্ৰায়েলৰ আশাৰ কাৰণেহে মই এই শিকলিৰ বান্ধনত আছোঁ৷”
For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
21 ২১ তেতিয়া তেওঁলোকে তেওঁক ক’লে, “আমি তোমাৰ বিষয়ে যিহুদীয়াৰ পৰা কোনো পত্ৰকে পোৱা নাই আৰু ভাই সকলৰ মাজৰ পৰাও কোনো ইয়ালৈ আহি তোমাৰ বিষয়ে দুষ্কর্মৰ খবৰ দিয়া নাই বা কোৱা নাই৷
And they said to him, We have neither received letters from Judaea concerning thee, neither have any of the brethren that came shown or spoken any harm of thee.
22 ২২ কিন্তু তোমাৰ মত কি, সেই বিষয়ে আমি তোমাৰ পৰা শুনিবলৈ খোজো; কিয়নো এই মতৰ বিষয়ে আমি জানো যে, ই সকলো ঠাইতে নিন্দিত হৈছে৷”
But we desire to hear from thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
23 ২৩ পাছত তেওঁলোকে তেওঁলৈ এটা দিন নির্ধাৰণ কৰিলে আৰু বহুলোকে তেওঁক লগ পাবলৈ তেওঁ বসতি কৰা ঠাইলৈ আহিল৷ তেওঁ মানুহবোৰৰ আগত ঈশ্ৱৰৰ ৰাজ্যৰ কথাৰ সাক্ষ্য প্ৰদান কৰিলে আৰু ৰাতিপুৱাৰ পৰা সন্ধিয়ালৈকে মোচিৰ বিধান-শাস্ত্ৰ আৰু ভাববাদীৰ পুস্তকৰ পৰা কথা উলিয়াই তেওঁলোকক প্ৰবৃত্তি দিলে৷
And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
25 ২৫ তাৰ পাছত পৌলে যেতিয়া ক’লে, “পবিত্ৰ আত্মাই যিচয়া ভাৱবাদীৰ দ্ৱাৰাই আমাৰ পূর্বপুৰুষ সকলৰ বিষয়ে ভালদৰে কৈছিল”; কিন্তু সেই কথাত পৰস্পৰৰ মাজত একমত নোহোৱাত, তেওঁলোক বিদায় ল’বলৈ ধৰিলে৷
And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after Paul had spoken one word, Well spoke the Holy Spirit by Isaiah the prophet to our fathers,
26 ২৬ পৌলে কৈছিল, “এই মানুহবোৰৰ ওচৰলৈ গৈ কোৱা, ‘তোমালোকে শুনাত শুনিবা কিন্তু নুবুজিবা; দেখোতে দেখিবা কিন্তু নাজানিবা;
Saying, Go to this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 ২৭ কিয়নো এই মানুহবোৰৰ হৃদয় ভোতোহা হৈ পৰিছে, তেওঁলোকৰ কাণো শুনিবলৈ গধূৰ, তেওঁলোকে নিজ নিজ চকু বন্ধ কৰিলে; নহ’লে তেওঁলোকে দেখিলেহেঁতেন, আৰু কাণেৰে শুনিলেহেঁতেন, আৰু অন্তৰেৰে বুজিলেহেঁতেন, আৰু ঘূৰি আহিলেহেঁতেন, আৰু মই তেওঁলোকক সুস্থ কৰিলোঁহেতেন৷’
For the heart of this people has become dull, and their ears are hard of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 ২৮ সেই কাৰণে আপোনালোকে জানিব যে, ঈশ্ৱৰৰ এই পৰিত্রাণৰ কথা অনা-ইহুদী সকলৰ মাজলৈ পঠোৱা হৈছে আৰু তেওঁলোকে তেওঁৰ বিষয়ে শুনিবও৷”
Be it known therefore to you, that the salvation of God is sent to the Gentiles, and they will hear it.
29 ২৯
And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great dispute among themselves.
30 ৩০ পাছত পৌলে দুবছৰলৈকে নিজে ভাড়া লোৱা ঘৰত থাকিলে আৰু যিমান মানুহ তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ আহিল, সেই আটাই লোককে তেওঁ গ্ৰহণ কৰিলে৷
And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in to him,
31 ৩১ তাতে তেওঁ কোনো বাধা নোপোৱাকৈ ঈশ্ৱৰৰ ৰাজ্য আৰু প্ৰভু যীচু খ্ৰীষ্টৰ বিষয়ে সাহসেৰে প্রচাৰ কৰি থাকিল৷
Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
