Jobi 38
1 Atëherë Zoti iu përgjigj Jobit në mes të furtunës dhe i tha:
Then did the Lord address Job out of the storm-wind, and said,
2 “Kush është ai që e errëson planin tim me fjalë që nuk kanë kuptim?
Who is this that casteth darkness [on my] counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Mirë, pra, ngjishe brezin si një trim; unë do të të pyes dhe ti do të më përgjigjesh.
Do but gird up like a mighty man thy loins: and I will ask thee, and do thou inform me.
4 Ku ishe kur unë hidhja themelet e tokës? Thuaje, në rast se ke aq zgjuarsi.
Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? tell it, if thou hast any understanding [of it].
5 Kush ka vendosur përmasat e saj, në rast se e di, ose kush ka vënë mbi të litarin për ta matur?
Who fixed her measurements, if thou knowest it? or who stretched the measuring-line over her?
6 Ku janë vendosur themelet e saj, ose kush ia vuri gurin qoshes,
Upon what are her foundation-pillars placed at rest? or who laid her corner-stone:
7 kur yjet e mëngjesit këndonin të gjithë së bashku dhe tërë bijtë e Perëndisë lëshonin britma gëzimi?
When altogether sang the morning stars in gladness, and shouted for joy all the sons of God?
8 Kush e mbylli me porta detin kur shpërtheu duke dalë nga gjiri i nënës,
And who closed up with doors the sea, when, issuing forth, it came out of the deep bosom of the earth?
9 kur i dhashë retë për rroba dhe terrin për pelena?
When I made the clouds its garment, and thick fog its swaddling-cloth,
10 Kur i caktova një kufi dhe i vendosa shufra hekuri dhe porta,
And when I decreed for it my law, and set [for it] bars and doors,
11 dhe thashë: “Ti do të arrish deri këtu, por jo më tutje; këtu do të ndalen valët e tua krenare!”?
And said, Thus far mayest thou come, but no farther; and here shall be stayed [thy strength] in the pride of thy waves?
12 Që kur se ti jeton a ke dhënë urdhra në mëngjes ose i ke treguar vendin agimit,
Didst thou ever, in all thy days, command the morning; didst thou ever assign the morning-dawn its place:
13 që ai të kapë skajet e tokës dhe të tronditë njerëzit e këqij?
That it might lay hold of the ends of the earth, so that the wicked might be shaken out therefrom?
14 Ndërron trajtë si argjila nën vulë dhe shquhet si një veshje.
She is changed as the sealing-clay: and [all things] stand as though newly clad.
15 Njerëzve të këqij u mohohet drita dhe krahu i ngritur u copëtohet.
And from the wicked is their light withdrawn, and the high-raised arm is broken.
16 A ke arritur vallë deri në burimet e detit ose a ke vajtur vallë në kërkim të thellësirave të humnerës?
Didst thou ever penetrate as far as the springs of the sea? or wander through the bottom of the deep?
17 Të janë treguar portat e vdekjes, apo ke parë vallë portat e hijes së vdekjes?
Were the gates of death ever laid open unto thee? or canst thou see the doors of the shadow of death?
18 A e ke vënë re gjerësinë e tokës. Thuaje, në rast se i di të gjitha këto!
Hast thou a clear understanding of the breadth of the earth? Tell it, if thou knowest it all.
19 Ku është rruga që të çon në banesën e dritës? Dhe terri, ku është vendi i tij,
Where is the way [to the spot where] the light dwelleth? and the darkness—where is its place,
20 që ti të mund t’i çosh në vendin e tij, dhe të mund të njohësh shtigjet që të çojnë në shtëpinë e tij?
That thou mightest take each to its boundary, and that thou mightest mark the pathways to its house?
21 Ti e di, sepse atëherë kishe lindur, dhe numri i ditëve të tua është i madh.
Thou [surely] knowest it; because thou wast then born, and the number of thy days is great!
22 Vallë, a ke hyrë ndonjë herë në depozitat e borës ose a ke parë vallë depozitat e breshërit
Didst thou ever enter into the treasuries of the snow? or canst thou see the treasuries of the hail,
23 që unë i mbaj në ruajtje për kohërat e fatkeqësive, për ditën e betejës dhe të luftës?
Which I have reserved for the time of distress, for the day of fight and battle?
24 Nëpër çfarë rruge përhapet drita ose përhapet era e lindjes mbi tokë?
Where is the way [to the spot where] the light divideth itself, [where] the east wind is scattered over the earth?
25 Kush ka hapur një kanal për ujërat që vërshojnë dhe rrugën për bubullimën e rrufeve,
Who hath divided off watercourses for the overflowing rain, and a way for the lightning [that is followed by] thunders,
26 që të bjerë shi mbi tokë të pabanuar, mbi një shkretëtirë, ku nuk ka asnjë njeri,
To bring rain on a land, void of men; on a wilderness wherein no son of earth [is found];
27 për të shuar etjen e shkretëtirave të mjeruara, për të bërë që të mbijë dhe të rritet bari?
To satisfy waste and desolate lands; and to promote the growth of the tender grass?
28 Shiu, vallë, a ka një baba? Ose kush i prodhon pikat e vesës?
Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of the dew?
29 Nga gjiri i kujt del akulli dhe kush e krijon brymën e qiellit?
Out of whose womb cometh forth the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven—who giveth birth to it?
30 Ujërat ngurtësohen si guri dhe sipërfaqja e humnerës ngrin.
[When] like a stone the waters are congealed, and the face of the deep is bound in fetters?
31 A mund t’i bashkosh ti lidhjet e Plejadave, apo të zgjidhësh vargjet e Orionit?
Canst thou bind together the chains of the Pleiades, or loosen the bands of Orion?
32 A i bën ti të duken yllësitë në kohën e tyre, apo e drejton ti Arushën e Madhe me të vegjlit e saj?
Canst thou bring forth the constellations of the zodiac, each in its season? or canst thou guide the Bear with its young?
33 A i njeh ti ligjet e qiellit, ose a mund të vendosësh ti sundimin e tyre mbi tokë?
Knowest thou the laws of heaven? or dost thou appoint its rule on the earth?
34 A mund ta çosh zërin tënd deri në retë me qëllim që të mbulohesh nga shiu i bollshëm?
Canst thou lift up to the clouds thy voice, that the abundance of waters may cover thee?
35 Mos je ti ai që hedh rrufetë atje ku duhet të shkojnë, duke thënë: “Ja ku jam?”.
Canst thou send out lightnings, that they may go, and say unto thee, Here are we?
36 Kush e ka vënë diturinë në mendje, ose kush i ka dhënë gjykim zemrës?
Who hath put wisdom in the dark clouds? or who hath given understanding to the bright meteors?
37 Kush numëron retë me anë të diturisë, dhe kush derdh shakujt e qiellit
Who ordaineth the skies with wisdom? or who emptieth out the bottles of heaven.
38 kur pluhuri shkrihet në një masë dhe plisat bashkohen midis tyre?
When the dust is poured out as molten metal, and the clods are made to cleave fast together?
39 A mund ta gjuash ti gjahun për luaneshën apo të ngopësh të vegjlit e uritur të luanit,
Dost thou hunt for the lioness her prey? and suppliest thou the food for the young lions,
40 kur struken në strofkat e tyre apo rrinë në pritë në strukën e tyre?
When they are couched in their lairs, rest in the thicket, lying in wait?
41 Kush i siguron korbit ushqimin e tij, kur zogjtë e tij i thërrasin Perëndisë dhe enden pa ushqim?
Who provideth for the raven his provision? when his young ones cry unto God, and wander about for lack of food?
