In the prophets of Jerusalem I have also seen a horrible thing: they commit adultery and walk in lies. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that no one returns from his wickedness. They have all become to me as Sodom, and its inhabitants as Gomorrah.”

| وَفِي أَوْسَاطِ أَنْبِيَاءِ أُورُشَلِيمَ رَأَيْتُ أُمُوراً مَهُولَةً: يَرْتَكِبُونَ الْفِسْقَ، وَيَسْلُكُونَ فِي الأَكَاذِيبِ، يُشَدِّدُونَ أَيْدِي فَاعِلِي الإِثْمِ لِئَلاَّ يَتُوبَ أَحَدٌ عَنْ شَرِّهِ. صَارُوا جَمِيعاً كَسُكَّانِ سَدُومَ وَأَصْبَحَ أَهْلُهَا كَأَهْلِ عَمُورَةَ. |

Mais chez les prophètes de Jérusalem j’ai remarqué des abominations: ils pratiquent l’adultère, vivent dans le mensonge, prêtent main-forte aux malfaiteurs, de façon que personne ne revienne de sa perversité. Tous, ils sont devenus à mes yeux comme gens de Sodome, et les habitants de Jérusalem comme gens de Gomorrhe.

परन्तु यरूशलेम के नबियों में मैंने ऐसे काम देखे हैं, जिनसे रोंगटे खड़े हो जाते हैं, अर्थात् व्यभिचार और पाखण्ड; वे कुकर्मियों को ऐसा हियाव बँधाते हैं कि वे अपनी-अपनी बुराई से पश्चाताप भी नहीं करते; सब निवासी मेरी दृष्टि में सदोमियों और गमोरियों के समान हो गए हैं।”
इसके सिवाय येरूशलेम के भविष्यवक्ताओं में भी मैंने एक भयानक बात देखी है: मेरे प्रति उनके संबंध में वैसा ही विश्वासघात हुआ है जैसा दाम्पत्य में व्यभिचार से होता है. वे बुराइयों के हाथों को सशक्त करने में लगे हुए हैं, परिणामस्वरूप कोई भी बुराई का परित्याग नहीं कर रहा. मेरी दृष्टि में वे सभी सोदोमवासियों सदृश हो चुके हैं; वहां के निवासी अमोराह सदृश हो गए हैं.”
De a jeruzsálemi prófétákban is rútságot láttam: paráználkodnak és hazugságban járnak; sőt pártját fogják a gonoszoknak, annyira, hogy senki sem tér meg az ő gonoszságából; olyanok előttem mindnyájan, mint Sodoma, és a benne lakók, mint Gomora.

Tapi di Yerusalem Aku melihat nabi-nabi melakukan yang lebih jahat lagi. Mereka berdusta dan berzinah, serta menyokong orang yang berbuat jahat, sehingga tak seorang pun mau bertobat. Bagi-Ku mereka semuanya jahat seperti penduduk Sodom dan Gomora."
Tetapi di kalangan para nabi Yerusalem Aku melihat ada yang mengerikan: mereka berzinah dan berkelakuan tidak jujur; mereka menguatkan hati orang-orang yang berbuat jahat, sehingga tidak ada seorangpun yang bertobat dari kejahatannya; semuanya mereka telah menjadi seperti Sodom bagi-Ku dan penduduknya seperti Gomora."
