Éxodo 24

1 Dijo (Dios) a Moisés: “Sube a donde está Yahvé, tú, Aarón, Nadab y Abiú, con setenta de los ancianos de Israel, y adoraréis desde lejos.

He said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD, you, and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel; and worship from a distance.

2 Mas solo Moisés se acercará a Yahvé; ellos, en cambio, no se acercarán; tampoco subirá con él el pueblo.”

Moses alone shall come near to the LORD, but they shall not come near. The people shall not go up with him.”

3 Vino, pues, Moisés y refirió al pueblo todas las palabras de Yahvé y todas sus leyes. Y todo el pueblo respondió a una voz: “Haremos todo cuanto ha dicho Yahvé.”

Moses came and told the people all the LORD’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which the LORD has spoken will we do.”

4 Entonces escribió Moisés todas las palabras de Yahvé; y levantándose muy de mañana, erigió al pie del monte un altar y doce piedras según el número de las doce tribus de Israel.

Moses wrote all the LORD’s words, then rose up early in the morning and built an altar at the base of the mountain, with twelve pillars for the twelve tribes of Israel.

5 Y mandó a algunos jóvenes, hijos de Israel, que ofreciesen holocaustos e inmolaran becerros como sacrificios pacíficos para Yahvé.

He sent young men of the children of Israel, who offered burnt offerings and sacrificed peace offerings of cattle to the LORD.

6 Tomó Moisés la mitad de la sangre y la echó en vasijas, y la otra mitad la derramó sobre el altar.

Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar.

7 Después tomó el libro de la Alianza y lo leyó ante el pueblo, el cual respondió: “Obedeceremos y haremos todo cuanto ha dicho Yahvé.”

He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, “We will do all that the LORD has said, and be obedient.”

8 Y tomando Moisés la sangre roció con ella al pueblo y dijo: “He aquí la sangre de la Alianza que Yahvé ha hecho con vosotros, a tenor de todas estas palabras.”

Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words.”

9 Luego subió Moisés con Aarón, Nadab y Abiú y setenta de los ancianos de Israel.

Then Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up.

10 Y vieron al Dios de Israel. Bajo sus pies había algo como un pavimento de zafiro tan puro como el mismo cielo.

They saw the God of Israel. Under his feet was like a paved work of sapphire stone, like the skies for clearness.

11 Mas no extendió su mano contra los príncipes de Israel; los cuales vieron a Dios, y comieron y bebieron.

He didn’t lay his hand on the nobles of the children of Israel. They saw God, and ate and drank.

12 Después dijo Yahvé a Moisés: “Sube al monte, hacia Mí, y permanece allí, y te daré las tablas de piedra, con la ley y los mandamientos que tengo escritos para instrucción de ellos.”

The LORD said to Moses, “Come up to me on the mountain, and stay here, and I will give you the stone tablets with the law and the commands that I have written, that you may teach them.”

13 Se levantó, pues, Moisés, con Josué, su ministro; y cuando subió al monte de Dios,

Moses rose up with Joshua, his servant, and Moses went up onto God’s Mountain.

14 dijo a los ancianos: “Esperadnos aquí hasta que volvamos a dónde estáis vosotros. Tenéis aquí a Aarón y a Hur. Quien tenga alguna cuestión recurra a ellos.

He said to the elders, “Wait here for us, until we come again to you. Behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Whoever is involved in a dispute can go to them.”

15 Subió, pues, Moisés al monte, y la nube cubrió el monte.

Moses went up on the mountain, and the cloud covered the mountain.

16 La gloria de Yahvé reposó sobre el monte Sinaí y la nube lo cubrió por seis días. Al séptimo día llamó Él a Moisés de en medio de la nube.

The LORD’s glory settled on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it six days. The seventh day he called to Moses out of the middle of the cloud.

17 Y parecía la gloria de Yahvé ante los ojos de los hijos de Israel como un fuego devorador sobre la cumbre del monte.

The appearance of the LORD’s glory was like devouring fire on the top of the mountain in the eyes of the children of Israel.

18 Moisés entró en la nube y subió al monte. Y permaneció Moisés en el monte cuarenta días y cuarenta noches.

Moses entered into the middle of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.
