< Jov 40 >

1 I tako odgovarajuæi Gospod Jovu reèe:
Moreover, the LORD answered Job, and said,
Shall he that contendeth with the Almighty instruct [him]? he that reproveth God, let him answer it.
3 Tada Jov odgovori Gospodu i reèe:
Then Job answered the LORD, and said,
4 Gle, ja sam malen, šta bih ti odgovorio? Meæem ruku svoju na usta svoja.
Behold, I am vile; what shall I answer thee? I will lay my hand upon my mouth.
5 Jednom govorih, ali neæu odgovarati; i drugom, ali neæu više.
Once have I spoken; but I will not answer: yes, twice; but I will proceed no further.
6 A Gospod opet odgovarajuæi Jovu iz vihora reèe:
Then the LORD answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
Gird up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou to me.
8 Hoæeš li ti uništiti moj sud? hoæeš li mene osuditi da bi sebe opravdao?
Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me, that thou mayest be righteous?
Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like his?
10 Okiti se sada èašæu i velièanstvom, u slavu i krasotu obuci se.
Deck thyself now [with] majesty and excellence; and array thyself with glory and beauty.
11 Prospi jarost gnjeva svojega, i pogledaj sve ponosite, i obori ih.
Cast abroad the rage of thy wrath: and behold every one [that is] proud, and abase him.
12 Pogledaj sve ponosite, i ponizi ih, i potri bezbožnike na mjestu njihovu.
Look on every one [that is] proud, [and] bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place.
13 Zatrpaj ih sve u prah, i poveži im lice na skrivenu mjestu.
Hide them in the dust together; bind their faces in secret.
Then will I also confess to thee that thy own right hand can save thee.
15 A gle, slon, kojega sam stvorio s tobom, jede travu kao vo;
Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Gle, snaga mu je u bedrima njegovijem, i sila mu je u pupku trbuha njegova;
Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 Diže rep svoj kao kedar, žile od jaja njegovijeh spletene su kao grane;
He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his male organs are wrapped together.
His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron.
19 On je prvo izmeðu djela Božijih, tvorac njegov dao mu je maè.
He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach [him].
20 Gore nose mu piæu, i sve zvijerje poljsko igra se ondje.
Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 U hladu liježe, u gustoj trsci i glibu.
He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 Granata drveta zaklanjaju ga sjenom svojim, i opkoljavaju ga vrbe na potocima.
The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook encompass him.
Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
He taketh it with his eyes: [his] nose pierceth through snares.
