Provérbios 7
1 Filho meu, guarda minhas palavras; e deposita em ti meus mandamentos.
[My] son, keep my words, and hide with you my commandments. [My] son, honor the Lord, and you shall be strong; and fear none but him:
2 Guarda meus mandamentos, e vive; e minha lei, como as pupilas de teus olhos.
keep my commandments, and you shall live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [your] eyes.
3 Ata-os aos teus dedos; escreve-os na tábua do teu coração.
And bind them on your fingers, and write [them] on the table of your heart.
4 Dize à sabedoria: Tu és minha irmã; E à prudência chama de parente.
Say that wisdom is your sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for yourself;
5 Para que te guardem da mulher alheia, da estranha, [que] lisonjeia com suas palavras.
that she may keep you from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail you with flattering words.
6 Porque da janela de minha casa, pelas minhas grades eu olhei;
For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
7 E vi entre os simples, prestei atenção entre os jovens, um rapaz que tinha falta de juízo;
passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
8 Que estava passando pela rua junto a sua esquina, e seguia o caminho da casa dela;
and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
9 No crepúsculo, ao entardecer do dia, no escurecer da noite e nas trevas.
when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
10 E eis que uma mulher lhe [saiu] ao encontro, com roupas de prostituta, e astuta de coração.
and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
11 Esta era barulhenta e insubordinada; os pés dela não paravam em sua casa.
And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
12 De tempos em tempos ela fica fora [de casa], nas ruas, espreitando em todos os cantos.
For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
13 Então ela o pegou, e o beijou; e com atrevimento em seu rosto, disse-lhe:
Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
14 Sacrifícios pacíficos tenho comigo; hoje paguei meus votos.
I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
15 Por isso saí para te encontrar; para buscar apressadamente a tua face, e te achei.
therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; [and] I have found you.
16 Já preparei minha cama com cobertas; com tecidos de linho fino do Egito.
I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
17 Já perfumei meu leito com mirra, aloés e canela.
I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
18 Vem [comigo]; iremos nos embebedar de paixões até a manhã, e nos alegraremos de amores.
Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
19 Porque [meu] marido não está em casa; ele viajou para longe.
For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
20 Ele tomou uma bolsa de dinheiro em sua mão; [e só] volta para casa no dia determinado.
having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
21 Ela o convenceu com suas muitas palavras sedutoras; com a lisonja de seus lábios ela o persuadiu.
So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
22 Ele foi logo após ela, como o boi vai ao matadouro; e como o louco ao castigo das prisões.
And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
23 Até que uma flecha atravesse seu fígado; como a ave que se apressa para a armadilha, e não sabe que está [armada] contra sua vida.
and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
24 Agora pois, filhos, escutai-me; e prestai atenção às palavras de minha boca.
Now then, [my] son, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
25 Que teu coração não se desvie para os caminhos dela, e não andes perdido pelas veredas dela.
Let not your heart turn aside to her ways:
26 Porque ela derrubou muitos feridos; e são muitíssimos os que por ela foram mortos.
for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
