Ezequiel 8

1 Sucedeu pois, no sexto ano, no mês sexto, no quinto dia do mes, estando eu assentado na minha casa, e os anciãos de Judá assentados diante de mim, que ali a mão do Senhor Jehovah caiu sobre mim.

And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell there on me.

2 E olhei, e eis uma semelhança como aspecto de fogo; desde o aspecto dos seus lombos, e daí para baixo, era fogo; e dos seus lombos e daí para cima como aspecto de um resplandor como de cor de âmbar;

Then I beheld, and see a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire; and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the color of amber.

3 E estendeu a forma de uma mão, e me tomou pelos cabelos da minha cabeça; e o espírito me levantou entre a terra e o céu, e me trouxe a Jerusalém em visões de Deus, até à entrada da porta do pátio de dentro, que olha para o norte, onde estava o assento da imagem dos ciúmes, que provoca a ciúmes

And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of my head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looks toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provokes to jealousy.

4 E eis que a glória do Deus de Israel estava ali, conforme o aspecto que eu tinha visto no vale.

And, behold, the glory of the God of Israel was there, according to the vision that I saw in the plain.

5 E disse-me: Filho do homem, levanta agora os teus olhos para o caminho do norte. E levantei os meus olhos para o caminho do norte, e eis que da banda do norte, à porta do altar, estava esta imagem de ciúmes na entrada.

Then said he to me, Son of man, lift up your eyes now the way toward the north. So I lifted up my eyes the way toward the north, and behold northward at the gate of the altar this image of jealousy in the entry.

6 E disse-me: Filho do homem, vês tu o que eles estão fazendo? as grandes abominações que a casa de Israel faz aqui, para que me alongue do meu santuário? porém ainda tornarás a ver maiores abominações.

He said furthermore to me, Son of man, see you what they do? even the great abominations that the house of Israel commits here, that I should go far off from my sanctuary? but turn you yet again, and you shall see greater abominations.

7 E levou-me à porta do átrio: então olhei, e eis que havia um buraco na parede.

And he brought me to the door of the court; and when I looked, behold a hole in the wall.

8 E disse-me: Filho do homem, cava agora naquela parede. E cavei na parede, e eis que havia uma porta.

Then said he to me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had dig in the wall, behold a door.

9 Então me disse: Entra, e vê as malignas abominações que eles fazem aqui.

And he said to me, Go in, and behold the wicked abominations that they do here.

10 E entrei, e olhei, e eis que toda a forma de réptis, e bestas abomináveis, e de todos os ídolos da casa de Israel, estavam pintados na parede em todo o redor.

So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed on the wall round about.

11 E setenta homens dos anciãos da casa de Israel, com Jaazanias, filho de Saphan, que estava no meio deles, estavam em pé diante deles, e cada um tinha na mão o seu incensário; e subia uma espessa nuvem de incenso.

And there stood before them seventy men of the ancients of the house of Israel, and in the middle of them stood Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan, with every man his censer in his hand; and a thick cloud of incense went up.

12 Então me disse: Viste, porventura, filho do homem, o que os anciãos da casa de Israel fazem nas trevas, cada um nas suas câmaras pintadas de imagens? porque dizem: O Senhor não nos vê; já desamparou o Senhor a terra.

Then said he to me, Son of man, have you seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the LORD sees us not; the LORD has forsaken the earth.

13 E disse-me: Ainda tornarás a ver maiores abominações, que estes fazem.

He said also to me, Turn you yet again, and you shall see greater abominations that they do.

14 E levou-me à entrada da porta da casa do Senhor, que está da banda do norte, e eis ali estavam mulheres assentadas chorando a Tammuz.

Then he brought me to the door of the gate of the LORD’s house which was toward the north; and, behold, there sat women weeping for Tammuz.

15 E disse-me: Viste porventura isto, filho do homem? ainda tornarás a ver abominações maiores do que estas.

Then said he to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? turn you yet again, and you shall see greater abominations than these.

16 E levou-me para o átrio interior da casa do Senhor, e eis que estavam à entrada do templo do Senhor, entre o pórtico e o altar, quase vinte e cinco homens, voltadas as costas para o templo do Senhor, e virados os rostos para o oriente; e eles adoravam o sol virados para o oriente.

And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD’s house, and, behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs toward the temple of the LORD, and their faces toward the east; and they worshipped the sun toward the east.

17 Então me disse: Viste isto, filho do homem? há porventura coisa mais leviana para a casa de Judá, do que fazer tais abominações, que fazem aqui? havendo enchido a terra de violência, tornam a irritar-me; porque eis que eles chegam o ramo ao nariz.

Then he said to me, Have you seen this, O son of man? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah that they commit the abominations which they commit here? for they have filled the land with violence, and have returned to provoke me to anger: and, see, they put the branch to their nose.

18 Pelo que também eu usarei com eles de furor; o meu olho não poupará, nem me apiedarei: e, ainda que me gritem aos ouvidos com grande voz, contudo não os ouvirei.

Therefore will I also deal in fury: my eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity: and though they cry in my ears with a loud voice, yet will I not hear them.
