ମାଥିଉ 9
1 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ନୌକାରେ ଚଢ଼ି ପାରି ହେଲେ ଓ ନିଜ ନଗରକୁ ଆସିଲେ।
Afterwards Jesus got into a boat, and, crossing over, came to his own city.
2 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଲୋକେ ଶଯ୍ୟାଗତ ଜଣେ ପକ୍ଷାଘାତ ରୋଗୀକୁ ବହି ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆଣିଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଦେଖି ସେହି ପକ୍ଷାଘାତ ରୋଗୀକୁ କହିଲେ, “ବତ୍ସ, ସାହସ ଧର, ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାପସବୁ କ୍ଷମା କରାଗଲା।”
There some people brought to him a paralysed man on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, ‘Courage, child! Your sins are forgiven.’
3 ଆଉ ଦେଖ, ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ମଧ୍ୟରୁ କେହି କେହି ମନେ ମନେ କହିଲେ, ଏହି ଲୋକ ଈଶ୍ବର ନିନ୍ଦା କରୁଅଛି।
Then some of the teachers of the Law said to themselves, ‘This man is blaspheming!’
4 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ମନର ଚିନ୍ତା ଜାଣି କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଆପଣା ଆପଣା ମନରେ କାହିଁକି କୁଚିନ୍ତା କରୁଅଛ?
Knowing their thoughts, Jesus exclaimed, ‘Why do your cherish such wicked thoughts?
5 କାରଣ କଅଣ ସହଜ? ‘ତୁମ୍ଭର ପାପସବୁ କ୍ଷମା କରାଗଲା’ ବୋଲି କହିବା, ବା, ‘ଉଠ, ଚାଲ’ ବୋଲି କହିବା?
Which, I ask, is the easier? – to say “Your sins are forgiven”? Or to say “Get up, and walk”?
6 କିନ୍ତୁ ପୃଥିବୀରେ ପାପ କ୍ଷମା କରିବାକୁ ମନୁଷ୍ୟପୁତ୍ରଙ୍କର ଯେ ଅଧିକାର ଅଛି, ଏହା ଯେପରି ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଜାଣିପାର,” ଏଥିପାଇଁ ସେ ପକ୍ଷାଘାତ ରୋଗୀକୁ କହିଲେ, “ଉଠ, ନିଜ ଖଟିଆ ନେଇ ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ଚାଲିଯାଅ।”
But to show you that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins’ – then he said to the paralysed man – ‘Get up, take up your bed, and return to your home.’
7 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ଘରକୁ ଚାଲିଗଲା।
The man got up and went to his home.
8 ତାହା ଦେଖି ଲୋକସମୂହ ଭୟ କଲେ, ପୁଣି, ଯେଉଁ ଈଶ୍ବର ମନୁଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏପରି ଅଧିକାର ଦେଇଅଛନ୍ତି, ତାହାଙ୍କର ମହିମା କୀର୍ତ୍ତନ କଲେ।
When the crowd saw this, they were awe-struck, and praised God for giving such power to human beings.
9 ଯୀଶୁ ସେଠାରୁ ଯାଉ ଯାଉ ମାଥିଉ ନାମକ ଜଣେ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତିଙ୍କୁ କର ଆଦାୟ ସ୍ଥାନରେ ବସିଥିବା ଦେଖି ତାହାଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୋହର ଅନୁଗମନ କର।” ସେଥିରେ ସେ ଉଠି ତାହାଙ୍କର ଅନୁଗମନ କଲେ।
As Jesus went along, he saw a man, called Matthew, sitting in the tax office, and said to him, ‘Follow me.’ Matthew got up and followed him.
10 ଆଉ ଯୀଶୁ ଗୃହରେ ଭୋଜନ କରିବାକୁ ବସିବା ସମୟରେ, ଦେଖ, ଅନେକ କରଗ୍ରାହୀ ଏବଂ ପାପୀ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଓ ତାହାଙ୍କର ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ବସିଲେ।
And, later on, when he was having dinner in the house, a number of tax collectors and outcasts came in and took their places at the table with Jesus and his disciples.
11 ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ତାହା ଦେଖି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ଗୁରୁ କାହିଁକି କରଗ୍ରାହୀ ଓ ପାପୀମାନଙ୍କ ସାଙ୍ଗରେ ଭୋଜନ କରନ୍ତି?”
When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat in the company of tax collectors and outcasts?’
12 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ତାହା ଶୁଣି କହିଲେ, “ସୁସ୍ଥ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ବୈଦ୍ୟଠାରେ ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଅସୁସ୍ଥ ଲୋକମାନଙ୍କର ଆବଶ୍ୟକ ଅଛି।
On hearing this, Jesus said, ‘It is not those who are healthy who need a doctor, but those who are ill.
13 କିନ୍ତୁ ‘ଆମ୍ଭେ ବଳିଦାନ ଭଲ ନ ପାଇ ଦୟା ଭଲ ପାଉ,’ ଏହି ବାକ୍ୟର ମର୍ମ ତୁମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଯାଇ ଶିକ୍ଷା କର, କାରଣ ମୁଁ ଧାର୍ମିକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସି ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ପାପୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ଆହ୍ୱାନ କରିବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଆସିଅଛି।”
Go and learn what this means – “I desire mercy, and not sacrifice”; for I did not come to call the religious, but the outcast.’
14 ସେହି ସମୟରେ ଯୋହନଙ୍କର ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି କହିଲେ, ଆମ୍ଭେମାନେ ଓ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ ଉପବାସ କରୁ, କିନ୍ତୁ ଆପଣଙ୍କ ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନେ ଉପବାସ କରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ କାହିଁକି?
Then John’s disciples came to Jesus, and asked, ‘Why do we and the Pharisees fast while your disciples do not?’
15 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ବର ଯେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ବରଯାତ୍ରୀମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ଥାଆନ୍ତି, ସେପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସେମାନେ କି ଶୋକ କରିପାରନ୍ତି? କିନ୍ତୁ ସମୟ ଆସିବ, ଯେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନଙ୍କଠାରୁ ବରଙ୍କୁ କାଢ଼ି ନିଆଯିବ, ଆଉ ସେତେବେଳେ ସେମାନେ ଉପବାସ କରିବେ।
Jesus answered, ‘Can the groom’s friends mourn as long as the groom is with them? But the days will come, when the groom will be taken away from them, and they will fast then.
16 କେହି ନୂଆ ଲୁଗାର ତାଳି ପୁରୁଣା ଲୁଗାରେ ପକାଏ ନାହିଁ, କାରଣ ସେହି ତାଳି ଲୁଗାରୁ ବେଶୀ ଛିଣ୍ଡାଇନିଏ ଏବଂ ଆହୁରି ଅଧିକ ବଡ଼ ଚିରା ହୁଏ।
Nobody ever puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for such a patch tears away from the garment, and a worse tear is made.
17 ଆଉ ଲୋକେ ନୂଆ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ପୁରୁଣା କୁମ୍ପାରେ ରଖନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ; ରଖିଲେ କୁମ୍ପା ଫାଟିଯାଏ ଓ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ପଡ଼ିଯାଏ, ଆଉ କୁମ୍ପାସବୁ ନଷ୍ଟ ହୁଏ; କିନ୍ତୁ ଲୋକେ ନୂଆ ଦ୍ରାକ୍ଷାରସ ନୂଆ କୁମ୍ପାରେ ରଖନ୍ତି, ପୁଣି, ଉଭୟ ରକ୍ଷା ପାଏ।”
Nor do people put new wine into old wine-skins; for, if they do, the skins burst, and the wine runs out, and the skins are lost; but they put new wine into fresh skins, and so both are preserved.’
18 ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଏହିସବୁ କଥା କହିବା ସମୟରେ, ଦେଖ, ଜଣେ ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସି ପ୍ରଣାମ କରି କହିଲେ, ମୋହର ଝିଅଟି ଏହିକ୍ଷଣି ମରିଗଲା, କିନ୍ତୁ ଆପଣ ଆସି ତାହା ଉପରେ ହସ୍ତ ଥୋଇବା ହେଉନ୍ତୁ, ଆଉ ସେ ବଞ୍ଚିବ।
While Jesus was saying this, a synagogue leader came up and bowed to the ground before him. ‘My daughter,’ he said, ‘has just died; but come and place your hand on her, and she will be restored to life.’
19 ସେଥିରେ ଯୀଶୁ ଉଠି ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କ ସହିତ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପଛରେ ଗଲେ।
So Jesus rose and followed him, and his disciples went also.
20 ଆଉ ଦେଖ ବାର ବର୍ଷ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ପ୍ରଦର ରୋଗଗ୍ରସ୍ତା ଜଣେ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକ ପଛଆଡ଼ୁ ଆସି ତାହାଙ୍କ ଲୁଗାର ଝୁମ୍ପା ଛୁଇଁଲା,
But meanwhile a woman, who had been suffering from haemorrhage for twelve years, came up behind and touched the tassel of his cloak.
21 କାରଣ ସେ ମନେ ମନେ କହୁଥିଲା, କେବଳ ତାହାଙ୍କ ଲୁଗା ଛୁଇଁଲେ ମୁଁ ସୁସ୍ଥ ହେବି।
‘If I only touch his cloak,’ she said to herself, ‘I will get well.’
22 କିନ୍ତୁ ଯୀଶୁ ବୁଲିପଡ଼ି ତାହାକୁ ଦେଖି କହିଲେ, “ବତ୍ସେ, ସାହସ ଧର, ତୋହର ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ତୋତେ ସୁସ୍ଥ କରିଅଛି।” ସେହି ଦଣ୍ଡରୁ ସ୍ତ୍ରୀଲୋକଟି ସୁସ୍ଥ ହୋଇଗଲା।
Turning and seeing her, Jesus said, ‘Courage, daughter! Your faith has delivered you.’ And at that very moment she became well.
23 ପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେହି ଅଧ୍ୟକ୍ଷଙ୍କ ଗୃହକୁ ଆସି ବଂଶୀବାଦକମାନଙ୍କୁ ଓ କୋଳାହଳ କରୁଥିବା ଲୋକସମୂହକୁ ଦେଖି କହିଲେ, “ବାହାରିଯାଅ, ବାଳିକାଟି ତ ମରି ନାହିଁ, ମାତ୍ର ଶୋଇ ପଡ଼ିଅଛି”
When Jesus reached the leader’s house, seeing the flute players, and a number of people all in confusion,
24 ସେଥିରେ ସେମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କୁ ପରିହାସ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
he said, ‘Go away, the little girl is not dead; she is asleep.’ They began to laugh at him;
25 କିନ୍ତୁ ଲୋକସମୂହ ବାହାର କରାଯାଆନ୍ତେ, ଯୀଶୁ ଭିତରକୁ ଯାଇ ବାଳିକାଟିର ହାତ ଧରିଲେ, ଆଉ ସେ ଉଠିଲା।
but, when the people had been sent out, Jesus went in, and took the little girl’s hand, and she rose.
26 ପୁଣି, ଏହି କଥା ସେହି ଦେଶଯାକ ବ୍ୟାପିଗଲା।
The report of this spread through all that part of the country.
27 ଯୀଶୁ ସେଠାରୁ ଯାଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଦୁଇ ଜଣ ଅନ୍ଧ ପଛେ ପଛେ ଚାଲି ଉଚ୍ଚସ୍ୱର କରି କହିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ, ହେ ଦାଉଦଙ୍କ ସନ୍ତାନ, ଆମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କୁ ଦୟା କରନ୍ତୁ।
As Jesus was passing on from there, he was followed by two blind men, who kept calling out, ‘Take pity on us, Son of David!’
28 ପୁଣି, ସେ ଗୃହରେ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରନ୍ତେ ସେହି ଅନ୍ଧମାନେ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆସିଲେ। ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ମୁଁ ଯେ ଏହା କରିପାରେ, ତାହା କି ବିଶ୍ୱାସ କରୁଅଛ?” ସେମାନେ କହିଲେ ହଁ, ପ୍ରଭୁ।
When he had gone indoors, the blind men came up to him; and Jesus asked them, ‘Do you believe that I am able to do this?’ ‘Yes, Master!’ they answered.
29 ସେଥିରେ ସେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଚକ୍ଷୁ ସ୍ପର୍ଶ କରି କହିଲେ, “ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ବିଶ୍ୱାସ ଅନୁସାରେ ତୁମ୍ଭମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ଘଟୁ।”
Then he touched their eyes, and said, ‘It will be according to your faith.’
30 ତହିଁରେ ସେମାନଙ୍କର ଆଖି ଫିଟିଗଲା। ପୁଣି, ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ଅତି ଦୃଢ଼ରୂପେ ଆଜ୍ଞା ଦେଇ କହିଲେ, “ଦେଖ, ଏ ବିଷୟ ଯେପରି କେହି ନ ଜାଣେ।”
Then their eyes were opened. Jesus sternly cautioned them. ‘See that no one knows of it,’ he said.
31 ମାତ୍ର ସେମାନେ ବାହାରିଯାଇ ସେହି ଦେଶଯାକ ତାହାଙ୍କ କୀର୍ତ୍ତି ପ୍ରଚାର କଲେ।
But the men went out, and spread the news about him through all that part of the country.
32 ସେମାନେ ବାହାରିଯାଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ, ଦେଖ, ଲୋକେ ଜଣେ ମୂକ ଭୂତଗ୍ରସ୍ତକୁ ତାହାଙ୍କ ପାଖକୁ ଆଣିଲେ।
Just as they were going out, some people brought up to Jesus a dumb man who was possessed by a demon;
33 ପୁଣି, ଭୂତ ଛଡ଼ାଯାଆନ୍ତେ ସେହି ମୂକ କଥା କହିଲା। ସେଥିରେ ଲୋକ ସମୂହ ଚମତ୍କୃତ ହୋଇ କହିଲେ, ଇସ୍ରାଏଲ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଏପରି କେବେ ହେଁ ଦେଖାଯାଇ ନାହିଁ।
and, as soon as the demon had been driven out, the dumb man spoke. The people were astonished at this, and exclaimed, ‘Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel!’
34 କିନ୍ତୁ ଫାରୂଶୀମାନେ କହିଲେ, ସେ ଭୂତପତି ସାହାଯ୍ୟରେ ଭୂତ ଛଡ଼ାଉଅଛି।
But the Pharisees said, ‘He drives out the demons by the help of the chief of the demons.’
35 ଏହାପରେ ଯୀଶୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କ ସମାଜଗୃହ-ସମୂହରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ଦେଇ ରାଜ୍ୟର ସୁସମାଚାର ଘୋଷଣା କରି ଏବଂ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାର ରୋଗ ଓ ସମସ୍ତ ପ୍ରକାର ପୀଡ଼ା ସୁସ୍ଥ କରି ସମୁଦାୟ ନଗର ପୁଣି, ଗ୍ରାମଗୁଡ଼ିକରେ ଭ୍ରମଣ କରିବାକୁ ଲାଗିଲେ।
Jesus went round all the towns and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and curing every kind of disease and every kind of sickness.
36 ଆଉ ଲୋକସମୂହକୁ ଦେଖି ସେମାନଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ସେ ଦୟାରେ ବିଗଳିତ ହେଲେ, କାରଣ ସେମାନେ ଅରକ୍ଷକ ମେଷ ପରି ଦୁର୍ଦ୍ଦଶାଗ୍ରସ୍ତ ଓ ଛିନ୍ନଭିନ୍ନ ଥିଲେ।
But, when he saw the crowds, his heart was moved with compassion for them, because they were distressed and harassed, like sheep without a shepherd;
37 ସେତେବେଳେ ଯୀଶୁ ଆପଣା ଶିଷ୍ୟମାନଙ୍କୁ କହିଲେ, “ଶସ୍ୟ ସିନା ପ୍ରଚୁର, ମାତ୍ର କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀମାନେ ଅଳ୍ପ,
and he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is abundant, but the labourers are few.
38 ଏଣୁ ଆପଣା ଶସ୍ୟକ୍ଷେତ୍ରକୁ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାରୀମାନଙ୍କୁ ପଠାଇଦେବା ନିମନ୍ତେ ଶସ୍ୟକ୍ଷେତ୍ରର ମାଲିକଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ନିବେଦନ କର।”
Therefore pray to the owner of the harvest to send labourers to gather in his harvest.’
