യോഹന്നാൻ 14
Do not let your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.
2 ൨ എന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭവനത്തിൽ അനേകം വാസസ്ഥലങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ട്; ഇല്ലായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുമായിരുന്നു. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കുവാൻ പോകുന്നു.
In my Father’s home there are many dwellings. If it had not been so, I should have told you, for I am going to prepare a place for you.
3 ൩ ഞാൻ പോയി നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സ്ഥലം ഒരുക്കിയാൽ, ഞാൻ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഇടത്ത് നിങ്ങളും ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് പിന്നെയും വന്നു നിങ്ങളെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചേർത്തുകൊള്ളും
And, since I go and prepare a place for you, I will return and take you to be with me, so that you may be where I am;
and you know the way to the place where I am going.’
5 ൫ തോമസ് അവനോട്: കർത്താവേ, നീ എവിടെ പോകുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നില്ല; പിന്നെ വഴി എങ്ങനെ അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
‘We do not know where you are going, Master,’ said Thomas. ‘So how can we know the way?’
6 ൬ യേശു അവനോട്: ഞാൻ തന്നേ വഴിയും സത്യവും ജീവനും ആകുന്നു; ഞാൻ മുഖാന്തരമല്ലാതെ ആരും പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തുന്നില്ല.
Jesus answered, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one ever comes to the Father except through me.
7 ൭ നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞ് എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ പിതാവിനെയും അറിയുമായിരുന്നു; ഇന്നുമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവനെ അറിയുന്നു; അവനെ കണ്ടുമിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
If you had recognised me, you would have known my Father also; for the future you will recognise him, indeed you have already seen him.’
‘Master, show us the Father,’ said Philip, ‘and we will be satisfied.’
9 ൯ യേശു അവനോട് പറഞ്ഞത്: ഞാൻ ഇത്രകാലം നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരുന്നിട്ടും നീ എന്നെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ലയോ ഫിലിപ്പൊസേ? എന്നെ കണ്ടവൻ പിതാവിനെ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; പിന്നെ പിതാവിനെ ഞങ്ങൾക്കു കാണിച്ചുതരേണം എന്നു നീ പറയുന്നത് എങ്ങനെ?
‘Have I been all this time among you,’ said Jesus, ‘and yet you, Philip, have not recognised me? The person who has seen me has seen the Father, how can you say, then, “Show us the Father”?
10 ൧൦ ഞാൻ പിതാവിലും പിതാവ് എന്നിലും ആകുന്നു എന്നു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നില്ലയോ? ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്ന വചനം സ്വയമായിട്ടല്ല സംസാരിക്കുന്നത്; പ്രത്യുത പിതാവ് എന്നിൽ വസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് തന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തി ചെയ്യുന്നു.
Don’t you believe that I am in union with the Father, and the Father with me? In giving you my teaching I am not speaking on my own authority; but the Father himself, always in union with me, does his own work.
11 ൧൧ ഞാൻ പിതാവിലും പിതാവ് എന്നിലും എന്നു എന്നെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ; അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രവൃത്തി നിമിത്തം എന്നെ വിശ്വസിപ്പിൻ.
Believe me,’ he said to them all, ‘when I say that I am in union with the Father and the Father with me, or else believe me because of the work itself.
12 ൧൨ ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു; ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്ന പ്രവൃത്തി എന്നിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നവനും ചെയ്യും; ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അതിൽ വലിയതും അവൻ ചെയ്യും.
In truth I tell you, the person who believes in me will themselves do the work that I am doing; and they will do greater work still, because I am going to the Father.
13 ൧൩ നിങ്ങൾ എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നതൊക്കെയും പിതാവ് പുത്രനിൽ മഹത്വപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ചെയ്തുതരും.
Whatever you ask, in my name, I will do, so that the Father may be honoured in the Son.
If you ask anything, in my name, I will do it.
If you love me, you will lay my commands to heart,
16 ൧൬ എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ പിതാവിനോട് ചോദിക്കും; അവൻ സത്യത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവ് എന്ന മറ്റൊരു കാര്യസ്ഥനെ എന്നേക്കും നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരും. (aiōn g165)
and I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, to be with you always – the Spirit of truth. (aiōn g165)
17 ൧൭ ഈ സത്യത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവിനെ ലോകം കാണുകയോ അറിയുകയോ ചെയ്യായ്കയാൽ അതിന് അവനെ ലഭിപ്പാൻ കഴിയുകയില്ല; എന്നാൽ അവൻ നിങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ വസിക്കുകയും നിങ്ങളിൽ ഇരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു.
The world cannot receive this Spirit, because it does not see him or recognise him, but you recognise him, because he is always with you, and is within you.
I will not leave you bereaved; I will come to you.
19 ൧൯ കുറഞ്ഞോന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ ലോകം എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല; നിങ്ങളോ എന്നെ കാണും; ഞാൻ ജീവിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് നിങ്ങളും ജീവിക്കും.
In a little while the world will see me no more, but you will still see me; because I am living, you will be living also.
At that time you will recognise that I am in union with the Father, and you with me, and I with you.
21 ൨൧ എന്റെ കല്പനകൾ ലഭിച്ചു അവയെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവനാകുന്നു എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ; എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവനെ എന്റെ പിതാവ് സ്നേഹിക്കും; ഞാനും അവനെ സ്നേഹിച്ച് അവന് എന്നെത്തന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തും.
It is they who have my commands and lays them to heart who loves me; and the person who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love them, and will reveal myself to them.’
22 ൨൨ ഈസ്കര്യോത്താവല്ലാത്ത യൂദാ അവനോട്: കർത്താവേ, എന്ത് സംഭവിച്ചിട്ടാകുന്നു നീ ലോകത്തിനല്ല ഞങ്ങൾക്കത്രേ നിന്നെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തുവാൻ പോകുന്നത് എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
‘What has happened, Master,’ said Judas (not Judas Iscariot), ‘that you are going to reveal yourself to us, and not to the world?’
23 ൨൩ യേശു അവനോട്: എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നവൻ എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിക്കും; എന്റെ പിതാവ് അവനെ സ്നേഹിക്കും; ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ വാസം ചെയ്യും.
‘Whoever loves me,’ Jesus answered, ‘will lay my message to heart; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our home with him.
24 ൨൪ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കാത്തവൻ എന്റെ വചനം പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നില്ല; നിങ്ങൾ കേൾക്കുന്ന വചനം എന്റേതല്ല എന്നെ അയച്ച പിതാവിന്റേതത്രേ എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
The person who does not love me will not lay my message to heart; and the message to which you are listening is not my own, but comes from the Father who sent me.
I have told you all this while still with you,
26 ൨൬ എങ്കിലും പിതാവ് എന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അയക്കുവാനുള്ള പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് എന്ന കാര്യസ്ഥൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് സകലവും ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരികയും ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞത് ഒക്കെയും നിങ്ങളെ ഓർമ്മപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യും.
but the helper – the Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in my name – will teach you all things, and will recall to your minds all that I have said to you.
27 ൨൭ സമാധാനം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തന്നിട്ടുപോകുന്നു; എന്റെ സമാധാനം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരുന്നു; ലോകം തരുന്നതുപോലെ അല്ല ഞാൻ ഇത് നിങ്ങൾക്ക് തരുന്നത്. നിങ്ങളുടെ ഹൃദയം കലങ്ങരുത്, ഭ്രമിക്കുകയും അരുത്.
Peace be with you! My own peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled, or dismayed.
28 ൨൮ ഞാൻ പോകയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിവരികയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞത് കേട്ടുവല്ലോ; നിങ്ങൾ എന്നെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ഞാൻ പിതാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ പോകുന്നതിനാൽ നിങ്ങൾ സന്തോഷിക്കുമായിരുന്നു; പിതാവ് എന്നേക്കാൾ വലിയവനല്ലോ.
You heard me say that I was going away and would return to you. Had you loved me, you would have been glad that I was going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
29 ൨൯ അത് സംഭവിക്കുമ്പോൾ നിങ്ങൾ വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന് ഞാൻ ഇപ്പോൾ അത് സംഭവിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നിങ്ങളോടു പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.
And this I have told you now before it happens, so that, when it does happen, you may still believe in me.
30 ൩൦ ഞാൻ ഇനി നിങ്ങളോടു വളരെ സംസാരിക്കുകയില്ല; ഈ ലോകത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭു വരുന്നു; അവന് എന്റെ മേൽ ഒരു അധികാരവുമില്ല.
I will not talk with you much more, for the Spirit that is ruling the world is coming. He has nothing in common with me;
31 ൩൧ എങ്കിലും ഞാൻ പിതാവിനെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു എന്നും പിതാവ് എന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഞാൻ ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നും ലോകം അറിയട്ടെ. എഴുന്നേല്പിൻ; നമുക്ക് ഇവിടെനിന്ന് പോകാം.
but he is coming so that the world may see that I love the Father, and that I do as the Father commanded me. Come, let us be going.
