הָרִאשׁוֹנָה אֶל־הַקּוֹרִנְתִּיִּים 2

1 אחים יקרים, כאשר באתי לספר לכם בפעם הראשונה את בשורת אלוהים, לא השתמשתי במילים יפות ונשגבות, ולא העליתי רעיון גאוני כלשהו,

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech (logos) or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God.

2 שכן החלטתי לספר לכם רק על אודות ישוע המשיח ומותו על הצלב.

For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

3 באתי אליכם בחולשה, בפחד וברעדה,

And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling.

4 ודברי היו ברורים למדי. לא ניסיתי לפתות אתכם בלשון חלקה, אבל רוח הקודש חיזק את דברי והוכיח לכל השומעים שאכן אלה הם דברי אלוהים.

And my speech (logos) and my preaching was not with enticing words (logos) of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit (pneuma) and of power:

5 עשיתי זאת משום שלא רציתי שאמונתכם תהיה מבוססת על חכמת בני־אדם, אלא על כוחו של אלוהים.

That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

6 אך בהימצאי בין המבוגרים יותר באמונה, אני משתמש במילים בעלות משמעות עמוקה יותר – במילות חוכמה, לא חכמת העולם הזה, ולא חכמה המקובלת אצל גדולי העולם הזה שדינם נגזר לאבדון. (aiōn g165)

Nevertheless we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nothing: (aiōn g165)

7 אלה הן מילות חכמה הניתנות על־ידי אלוהים, והמספרות על תוכניתו הנפלאה של אלוהים להביאנו למרומי השמים. עד לפני זמן־מה הייתה תוכניתו זאת בגדר סוד, אף כי תוכננה למעננו ונועדה לנו עוד לפני בריאת העולם. (aiōn g165)

But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: (aiōn g165)

8 אבל”חכמי העולם“לא הבינו זאת, כי אילו הבינו, לא היו צולבים את אדון הכבוד. (aiōn g165)

Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. (aiōn g165)

9 לכך התכוון הפסוק בישעיהו:”עין לא ראתה, ואוזן לא שמעה, ולא עלה על לב אדם את אשר הכין האלוהים לאוהביו“.

But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for them that love him.

10 אבל אנחנו יודעים מה הם הדברים הנפלאים האלה, כי אלוהים שלח את רוחו לגלות לנו, והרוח חוקר, מברר הכול ומגלה לנו את סודותיו הכמוסים והנפלאים של אלוהים.

But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: (pneuma) for the Spirit (pneuma) searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 איש אינו יודע מה חושב אדם אחר, מלבד רוח האדם שבו עצמו; ואיש אינו יכול לדעת מה חושב אלוהים, מלבד רוח הקודש.

For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit (pneuma) of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit (pneuma) of God.

12 ואלוהים לא נתן לנו את רוח העולם, כי אם את רוחו שלו – את רוח הקודש, כדי שיגלה לנו מהן המתנות הנפלאות שהעניק לנו ה׳ ברוב חסדו, ובאילו ברכות ברך אותנו.

Now we have received, not the spirit (pneuma) of the world, but the spirit (pneuma) which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 איננו מספרים לכם על כך במילים שלנו, אלא במילים של רוח הקודש, כלומר, אנו משתמשים במילים מרוח הקודש כדי להסביר דברים רוחניים.

Which things also we speak, not in the words (logos) which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit (pneuma) teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 אולם מי שאינו מאמין במשיח, אינו מסוגל להבין את דברי רוח הקודש, והם נשמעים לו מטופשים למדי, כי רק מי ששוכן בו רוח ה׳ מסוגל להבין דברים רוחניים.

But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit (pneuma) of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

15 ואילו האדם הרוחני – זה שרוח הקודש שוכן בו – בוחן וחוקר כל דבר, בעוד שהוא עצמו אינו נבחן ואינו נידון על־ידי איש. הוא יכול להבין את המשמעות של כל דבר, אולם איש אינו יכול לאמוד ולשפוט אותו.

But he that is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

16 ודאי תשאלו: איך יכול המאמין להבין הכול, הרי אין הוא מסוגל לקרוא את מחשבותיו של אלוהים או לשוחח איתו על כך? התשובה היא: אנחנו, המאמינים, יודעים את מחשבותיו של אלוהים, מפני שרוח המשיח שוכן בנו.

For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
