1 Und es geschah, da König Chiskijahu es hörte, so zerriß er seine Kleider und bedeckte sich mit dem Sack und kam in das Haus Jehovahs;
And when King Hezekiah heard it, he rent his clothes and put on sackecloth, and came into the house of the Lord,
2 Und sandte Eljakim, der über das Haus war, und Schebna, den Schreiber, und die Ältesten der Priester, mit Säcken bedeckt, an Jesajah, den Propheten, den Sohn des Amoz.
And sent Eliakim which was the stewarde of the house, and Shebnah the chanceller, and the Elders of the Priestes clothed in sackecloth to Isaiah the Prophet the sonne of Amoz.
3 Und sie sprachen zu ihm: So spricht Chiskijahu: Ein Tag der Drangsal und der Rüge und der Lästerung ist dieser Tag, denn die Söhne sind gekommen bis zum Bruche und keine Kraft ist da zu gebären.
And they said vnto him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of tribulation and of rebuke, and blasphemie: for the childre are come to the birth, and there is no strength to bring foorth.
4 Vielleicht hört Jehovah, dein Gott, all die Worte des Rabschakeh, den der König von Aschur, sein Herr, sandte, den lebendigen Gott zu schmähen, und wird strafen die Worte, die Jehovah, dein Gott, gehört hat. Und erhebe du ein Gebet für den Überrest, der sich findet.
If so be the Lord thy God hath heard all the wordes of Rabshakeh, whome the King of Asshur his master hath sent to raile on the liuing God, and to reproch him with wordes which the Lord thy God hath heard, then lift thou vp thy prayer for the remnant that are left.
5 Und die Knechte des Königs Chiskijahu kamen zu Jesajah;
So the seruants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
6 Und Jesajah sprach zu ihnen: So sollt ihr sprechen zu eurem Herrn: So spricht Jehovah: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehört, mit denen Mich die Jungen des Königs von Aschur verhöhnt haben.
And Isaiah said vnto them, So shall ye say to your master, Thus sayeth the Lord, Be not afraide of the words which thou hast heard, wherewith the seruants of the king of Asshur haue blasphemed me.
7 Siehe, Ich gebe in ihm einen Geist, daß er ein Gerücht hört, und zurückkehrt nach seinem Land, und Ich lasse ihn durch das Schwert fallen in seinem Lande.
Beholde, I will sende a blast vpon him, and he shall heare a noyse, and returne to his owne lande: and I will cause him to fall by the sworde in his owne lande.
8 Und Rabschakeh kehrte zurück und fand den König von Aschur im Streite wider Libnah; denn er hatte gehört, daß er von Lachisch aufgebrochen war.
So Rabshakeh returned, and founde the King of Asshur fighting against Libnah: for he had heard that he was departed from Lachish.
9 Und er hörte von Thirchakah, dem König von Kusch, also sprechen: Siehe, er ist ausgezogen mit dir zu streiten. Und er sandte wiederum Boten an Chiskijahu und sprach:
He heard also men say of Tirhakah King of Ethiopia, Beholde, he is come out to fight against thee: he therefore departed and sent other messengers vnto Hezekiah, saying,
10 So sprechet zu Chiskijahu, dem König von Judah, und saget: Laß dich nicht verführen von deinem Gotte, auf Den du vertraust, daß du sprichst: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hand des Königs von Aschur gegeben werden.
Thus shall ye speake to Hezekiah King of Iudah, and say, Let not thy God deceiue thee in whome thou trustest, saying, Ierusalem shall not be deliuered into the hande of the King of Asshur.
11 Siehe, du hast gehört, was die Könige von Aschur allen Ländern taten, daß sie sie verbannten, und du willst errettet werden?
Beholde, thou hast heard what the Kings of Asshur haue done to all landes, how they haue destroyed them: and shalt thou be deliuered?
12 Haben die Götter der Völkerschaften diejenigen errettet, die meine Väter verdorben haben: Gosan und Charan und Rezeph und die Söhne Edens, das in Thelassar ist.
Haue the gods of the heathen deliuered them which my fathers haue destroyed? as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden, which were in Thelasar?
13 Wo ist der König von Chamath und der König von Arpad und der König über die Stadt Sepharvaim, Hena und Ivah?
Where is the King of Hamath, and the King of Arpad, and the King of the citie of Shepharuaim, Hena and Iuah?
14 Und Chiskijahu nahm die Briefe aus der Hand der Boten und las sie und ging hinauf zum Haus Jehovahs, und Chiskijahu breitete sie aus vor Jehovah;
So Hezekiah receiued the letter of the hande of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went vp into the house of the Lord, and Hezekiah spread it before the Lord.
15 Und Chiskijahu betete vor Jehovah und sprach: Jehovah, Gott Israels, Der Du sitzest auf den Cheruben, Du bist der Gott, Du allein über alle Königreiche der Erde, Du hast die Himmel und die Erde gemacht!
And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and saide, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest betweene the Cherubims, thou art very God alone ouer all the kingdomes of the earth: thou hast made the heauen and the earth.
16 Neige, Jehovah, Dein Ohr und höre; tue auf, Jehovah, Deine Augen und siehe und höre die Worte Sancheribs, der gesandt hat, zu schmähen den lebendigen Gott.
Lord, bow downe thine eare, and heare: Lord open thine eyes and behold, and heare the wordes of Saneherib, who hath sent to blaspheme the liuing God.
17 Wahrlich, Jehovah, die Könige von Aschur haben die Völkerschaften und ihr Land verödet.
Trueth it is, Lord, that the Kings of Asshur haue destroyed the nations and their landes,
18 Und ihre Götter ins Feuer geworfen; denn sie sind keine Götter, sondern ein Werk von den Händen des Menschen gemacht, Holz und Stein, und die haben sie zugrunde gerichtet.
And haue set fire on their gods: for they were no gods, but the worke of mans hands, euen wood and stone: therefore they destroyed them.
19 Nun aber, Jehovah, unser Gott, rette uns doch aus seiner Hand, auf daß alle Königreiche der Erde wissen, daß Du, Jehovah, alleiniger Gott bist.
Nowe therefore, O Lord our God, I beseech thee, saue thou vs out of his hande, that all the kingdomes of the earth may knowe, that thou, O Lord, art onely God.
20 Und Jesajah, der Sohn des Amoz, sandte an Chiskijahu und sprach: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Was du zu Mir wider Sancherib, den König von Aschur, gebetet hast, habe Ich gehört.
Then Isaiah the sonne of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I haue heard that which thou hast prayed me, concerning Saneherib King of Asshur.
21 Das ist das Wort, das Jehovah über ihn geredet hat: Es verachtet dich und verlacht dich die Jungfrau, die Tochter Zijons, hinter dir her schüttelt das Haupt die Tochter Jerusalems.
This is the worde that the Lord hath spoken against him, O Virgine, daughter of Zion, he hath despised thee, and laughed thee to scorne: O daughter of Ierusalem, he hath shaken his head at thee.
22 Wen hast du geschmäht und verhöhnt? und gegen wen hast du die Stimme erhöht und deine Augen erhoben? Gegen den Heiligen Israels.
Whome hast thou railed on? and whome hast thou blasphemed? and against whome hast thou exalted thy voyce, and lifted vp thine eyes on hie? euen against the Holie one of Israel.
23 Durch die Hand deiner Boten hast du den Herrn geschmäht und gesprochen: Mit meinen vielen Streitwagen bin ich auf die Höhe der Berge hinaufgefahren, an die Seiten des Libanon, und habe ausgerottet seine hohen Zedern, die Auswahl seiner Tannen, und kam an das Ende seiner Behausung, den Wald seines Karmel.
By thy messengers thou hast rayled on the Lord, and said, By the multitude of my charets I am come vp to the toppe of the mountaines, by the sides of Lebanon, and will cut downe the hie cedars thereof, and the faire firre trees thereof, and I will goe into the lodging of his borders, and into the forest of his Carmel.
24 Ich habe hinabgegraben und getrunken fremde Wasser, und trockne aus mit der Sohle meiner Fußtritte alle Ströme Ägyptens.
I haue digged, and drunke the waters of others, and with the plant of my feete haue I dried all the floods closed in.
25 Hast du nicht gehört, daß Ich von ferne her es getan, daß von den Tagen der Vorzeit her Ich es gebildet? Nun laß Ich es kommen, daß du seist ein Zertrümmerer der festen Städte zu wüsten Steinhaufen.
Hast thou not heard, howe I haue of olde time made it, and haue formed it long ago? and should I nowe bring it, that it should be destroyed, and laid on ruinous heapes, as cities defensed?
26 Und die darin wohnen werden schwach von Hand, sie werden sich entsetzen und beschämt werden; sie werden wie Kraut des Feldes und Grün des jungen Krautes, Gras der Dächer und Brandkorn, ehe es aufschießt.
Whose inhabitants haue small power, and are afraid, and confounded: they are like the grasse of the field, and greene herbe, or grasse on ye house toppes, or as corne blasted before it be growen.
27 Dein Sitzen und deinen Ausgang und deinen Eingang weiß Ich und deinen Aufruhr gegen Mich.
I knowe thy dwelling, yea, thy going out, and thy comming in, and thy furie against me.
28 Weil dein Aufruhr wider Mich und deine Sorglosigkeit zu Meinen Ohren heraufkam, so will Ich Meinen Haken in deine Nase legen und Meinen Zaum in deine Lippen, und dich zurückbringen auf dem Wege, auf dem du gekommen bist.
And because thou ragest against me, and thy tumult is come vp to mine eares, I will put mine hooke in thy nostrels, and my bridle in thy lippes, and will bring thee backe againe the same way thou camest.
29 Und dies sei dir das Zeichen: Das Jahr esset ihr, was von selbst gewachsen, und im zweiten Jahr solches, das aus diesem nachgewachsen, und im dritten Jahr sollt ihr säen und ernten, und Weinberge pflanzen und deren Frucht essen.
And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, O Hezekiah, Thou shalt eate this yeere such things as growe of them selues, and the next yeere such as growe without sowing, and the third yeere sowe ye and reape, and plant vineyardes, and eate the fruites thereof.
30 Und wiederum werden die Entkommenen des Hauses Judah, die verbleiben, nach unten Wurzel ansetzen und nach oben Frucht bringen.
And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Iudah, shall againe take roote downewarde, and beare fruite vpwarde.
31 Denn von Jerusalem soll ausgehen ein Überrest und die Entkommenen vom Berge Zijon. Der Eifer Jehovahs wird das tun.
For out of Ierusalem shall goe a remnant, and some that shall escape out of mount Zion: the zeale of the Lord of hostes shall doe this.
32 Darum spricht Jehovah über den König von Aschur also: Er soll nicht an diese Stadt kommen und keinen Pfeil dahin schießen, und nicht vor sie bringen den Schild und keinen Wall aufschütten wider sie.
Wherefore thus saith the Lord, concerning the King of Asshur, He shall not enter into this citie, nor shoote an arrowe there, nor come before it with shield, nor cast a mount against it:
33 Auf dem Wege, da er gekommen ist, soll er zurückkehren, und zu dieser Stadt soll er nicht kommen, spricht Jehovah.
But he shall returne the way he came, and shall not come into this citie, saith the Lord.
34 Und beschirmen will Ich diese Stadt, daß Ich sie rette um Meinetwillen und um Davids, Meines Knechtes, willen.
For I will defende this citie to saue it for mine owne sake, and for Dauid my seruants sake.
35 Und es geschah in selbiger Nacht, daß der Engel Jehovahs ausging und im Lager Aschurs schlug hundertfünfundachtzigtausend; und sie standen früh am Morgen auf, und siehe, da waren sie alle Leichen der Gestorbenen.
And the same night the Angell of the Lord went out and smote in the campe of Asshur an hundreth foure score and fiue thousande: so when they rose earely in the morning, behold, they were all dead corpses.
36 Und Sancherib, der König von Aschur, brach auf und ging hin und kehrte zurück, und er wohnte in Niniveh.
So Saneherib King of Asshur departed, and went his way, and returned, and dwelt in Nineueh.
37 Und es geschah, da er anbetete im Hause Nisrochs, seines Gottes, da schlugen ihn mit dem Schwerte Adrammelech und Scharezer und entrannen in das Land Ararat, und Esar-Chaddon, sein Sohn, ward König an seiner Stelle.
And as he was in the Temple worshipping Nisroch his god, Adramelech and Sharezer his sonnes slewe him with the sworde: and they escaped into the land of Ararat, and Esarhaddon his sonne reigned in his steade.
