1 Samuel 1
1 Es war aber ein Mann von Ramathaim, ein Zuphit vom Gebirge Ephraim, Namens Elkana, ein Sohn Jerohams, des Sohnes Elihus, des Sohnes Thohus, des Sohnes Zuphs, ein Ephraimit.
`A man was of `Ramathym of Sophym, of the hil of Effraym, and his name was Elchana, the sone of Jeroboam, sone of Elyud, sone of Thau, sone of Suph, of Effraym.
2 Der hatte zwei Frauen: die eine hieß Hanna, die zweite Peninna; Peninna besaß Kinder, Hanna aber nicht.
And Helchana hadde twei wyues; the name `to oon was Anna, and the `name of the secounde was Fenenna; and sones weren to Feuenna; forsothe fre children `weren not to Anna.
3 Dieser Mann zog Jahr für Jahr von seinem Wohnort aus hinauf, um vor Jahwe der Heerscharen in Silo zu beten und zu opfern. Dort waren die beiden Söhne Elis, Hophni und Pinehas, als Priester Jahwes.
And thilke man styede fro his citee in daies ordeyned, to worschipe and offre sacrifice to the Lord of oostis in Silo. Forsothe twei sones of Heli weren there, Ophym and Fynees, preestis of the Lord.
4 Jedesmal nun, wenn Elkana opferte, gab er seinem Weibe Peninna und allen ihren Söhnen und Töchtern Anteile.
Therfor the dai cam, and Helcana offride, and yaf partis to Fenenna, his wijf, and to alle hise sones and douytris;
5 Aber auch Hanna gab er nur einen Anteil, ungeachtet er sie lieber hatte; Jahwe aber hatte ihren Mutterschoß verschlossen.
forsothe he yaf soreufuly o part to Anna, for he louyde Anna; forsothe the Lord hadde closid hir wombe.
6 Ihre Nebenbuhlerin dagegen erging sich in kränkenden Reden gegen sie, um sie zum Zorne zu reizen, weil Jahwe ihren Schoß verschlossen hatte.
And hir enemy turmentide `hir, and angwischide greetly, in so myche that sche vpbreidide, that the Lord hadde closid hir wombe.
7 So benahm sie sich Jahr für Jahr: so oft sie zum Hause Jahwes hinaufzogen, kränkte sie jene. Da weinte sie und aß nicht.
And so sche dide `bi alle yeeris, whanne `in tyme comynge ayen, thei stieden in to the hows of the Lord; and so sche terride Anna. Forsothe Anna wepte, and took not mete.
8 Aber ihr Mann Elkana fragte sie: Hanna, warum weinst du und issest nicht und warum bist du so verstimmt? Bin ich dir nicht mehr wert, als zehn Söhne?
Therfor Helcana, hir hosebonde, seide to hir, Anna, whi wepist thou, and whi etist thou not, and whi is thin herte turmentid? Whether Y am not betere to thee than ben ten sones?
9 Als sie nun einst in Silo gegessen und getrunken hatten, erhob sich Hanna und trat vor Jahwe, während Eli, der Priester, auf einem Stuhl an dem Thürpfosten des Jahwetempels saß.
`Sotheli Anna roos, aftir that sche hadde ete and drunke in Silo. `And the while Hely was on his greet seete, bifor the postis of the `hows of the Lord,
10 Da betete sie denn in ihrer Betrübnis zu Jahwe unter vielen Thränen
whanne Anna was in bittere soule, sche preyede the Lord, and wepte largeli;
11 und that folgendes Gelübde: Jahwe der Heerscharen! Wenn du dich um das Elend deiner Magd bekümmerst und meiner gedenkst und deiner Magd nicht vergissest, indem du deiner Magd einen männlichen Sproß schenkst: so will ich ihn Jahwe übergeben für sein ganzes Leben, und kein Schermesser soll auf sein Haupt kommen!
and made a vow, and seide, Lord God of oostis, if thou biholdist, and seest the turment of thi seruauntesse, and hast mynde of me, and foryetis not thin handmayde, and yyuest to thi seruauntesse `a male kynde, Y schal yyue hym to the Lord in alle daies of his lijf, and a rasour schal not stie on his heed.
12 Während sie nun so lange vor Jahwe betete, wobei Eli ihren Mund beobachtete -
Forsothe it was doon, whanne sche multipliede preieris bifor the Lord, that Ely aspiede hir mouth.
13 Hanna redete nämlich leise; nur ihre Lippen bewegten sich, aber ihre Stimme hörte man nicht -, kam Eli auf den Gedanken, sie sei trunken.
Forsothe Anna spak in hir herte, and oneli hir lippis weren mouyd, and outerly hir vois was not herd. Therfor Hely gesside hir drunkun,
14 So sagte er denn zu ihr: Wie lange willst du dich trunken erzeigen? Schüttle deinen Rausch von dir ab!
and he seide to hyr, Hou longe schalt thou be drunkun? Difye thou a litil the wyn, `bi which thou art moist.
15 Hanna entgegnete: Nein, mein Herr, ich bin ein unglückliches Weib: Wein und berauschendes Getränk habe ich nicht getrunken, sondern ich habe mein Herz vor Jahwe ausgeschüttet.
Anna answeride, and seide, Nay, my lord, for Y am `a wretchid womman greetli; Y `drank not wyn `and al thing that may make drunkun, but Y schedde out my soule in the `siyt of the Lord;
16 Erachte deine Magd nicht für eine Nichtswürdige, denn nur infolge meines großen Kummers und meiner Traurigkeit habe ich bisher geredet.
gesse thou not thin handmaide as oon of the douytris of Belyal, for of the multitude of my sorewe and morenyng Y spak `til in to present tyme.
17 Eli erwiderte: Geh in Frieden; der Gott Israels wird dir gewähren, was du von ihm erbeten hast!
Thanne Hely seide to hir, Go thou in pees, and God of Israel yyue to thee the axyng which thou preiedist hym.
18 Sie sprach: Möge deine Magd deine Huld gewinnen! Damit ging das Weib ihres Weges und aß und war nicht mehr niedergeschlagen.
And sche seide, `Y wolde that thin hondmayde fynde grace in thin iyen. And the womman yede in to hir weie, and eet; and hir cheris weren no more chaungid dyuersly.
19 Am andern Morgen früh verrichteten sie ihre Andacht vor Jahwe und kehrten dann heim nach Rama. Als dann Elkana seinem Weibe Hanna beiwohnte, da gedachte Jahwe ihrer,
And `thei ryseden eerly, and worschipiden bifore the Lord; and thei turneden ayen, and camen in to hir hows in Ramatha. Forsothe Helchana knew fleischli Anna, his wijf; and the Lord thouyte on hir.
20 und als das Jahr um war, war Hanna schwanger gewesen und hatte einen Sohn geboren. Den nannte sie Samuel: denn - sagte sie - von Gott habe ich ihn erbeten!
And it was doon after the cumpas of daies, Anna conseyuede, and childide a sone, and sche clepide his name Samuel; for sche hadde axid hym of the Lord.
21 Als sodann jener Elkana mit seiner ganzen Familie hinaufzog, um Jahwe sein jährliches Opfer und was er gelobt hatte, darzubringen,
Forsothe hir hosebonde Helcana stiede, and al his hows, to offre a solempne sacrifice, and his avow to the Lord.
22 ging Hanna nicht mit hinauf, sondern sprach zu ihrem Manne: Erst wann der Knabe entwöhnt ist, will ich ihn hinbringen, daß er vor Jahwe erscheine und für immer dort bleibe.
And Anna stiede not, for sche hadde seid to hir hosebonde, Y schal not go, til the yonge child be wenyd, and til Y lede hym, and he appere bifor the `siyt of the Lord, and dwelle there contynueli.
23 Elkana, ihr Mann, erwiderte ihr: Thue, was du für gut hältst; bleibe zurück, bis du ihn entwöhnt hast. Jahwe gebe nur, daß dein Wort wahr werde! So blieb das Weib zurück und säugte ihren Sohn bis zu seiner Entwöhnung.
And Helcana, hir hosebonde, seide to hir, Do thou that that semeth good to thee, and dwelle thou til thou wene hym; and Y biseche, that the Lord fille his word. Therfor the womman dwellide, and yaf mylk to hir sone, til sche remouyde hym fro mylk.
24 Als sie ihn dann entwöhnt hatte, nahm sie ihn mit sich hinauf und dazu ein dreijähriges Rind, ein Epha Mehl und einen Schlauch Wein; so brachte sie ihn in den Tempel Jahwes nach Silo.
And sche brouyte hym with hir, aftir that sche hadde wened hym, with thre caluys, and thre buyschelis of mele, and amfore, `ether a pot, of wyn; and sche brouyte hym to the hows of the Lord in Silo. Forsothe the child was yit ful yonge.
25 Da schlachtete man das Rind, und die Mutter des Knaben begab sich samt dem Knaben zu Eli.
And thei sacrifieden a calf, and thei offriden the child to Hely.
26 Darauf sprach sie: Mit Vergunst, mein Herr! So wahr du lebst, mein Herr: ich bin das Weib, das hier bei dir gestanden hat, um zu Jahwe zu beten.
And Anna seide, My lord, Y biseche, that is, that this child be thi `disciple and seruaunt, thi soule lyueth; Y am that womman, that stood bifor thee here, and preiede the Lord;
27 Um diesen Knaben betete ich, und Jahwe hat mir die Bitte gewährt, die ich an ihn richtete.
for this child Y preiede, and the Lord yaf to me myn axyng which Y axide hym;
28 So habe denn auch ich ihn Jahwe geliehen: so lang er lebt, sei er Jahwe geliehen! So ließ sie ihn denn dort vor Jahwe.
therfor Y haue youe hym to the Lord `in alle daies, in whiche he is youun to the Lord. And thei worschypiden there the Lord.
