Johannes 15

1 "Ich bin der wahre Weinstock; mein Vater ist der Weingärtner.

I am the true vine; and my Father is the husbandman.

2 Er schneidet jeden Rebzweig an mir ab, der keine Frucht bringt; jeden aber, der Frucht trägt, reinigt er, damit er noch mehr Frucht trage.

Every branch in me, that beareth not fruit, he will take away: and every one that beareth fruit, he will purge it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

3 Ihr seid schon rein des Wortes wegen, das ich zu euch gesprochen habe.

Now you are clean by reason of the word, which I have spoken to you.

4 Bleibt in mir, dann bleibe ich in euch. Wie der Rebzweig aus sich selbst keine Frucht bringen kann, wenn er nicht am Weinstock bleibt, also auch ihr nicht, wenn ihr nicht in mir bleibt.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me.

5 Ich bin der Weinstock; ihr seid die Rebzweige. Wer in mir bleibt, und der, in dem ich bleibe, bringt viel Frucht; getrennt von mir, könnt ihr nichts tun.

I am the vine: you the branches: he that abideth in me, and I in him, the same beareth much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.

6 Wer nicht in mir bleibt, wird wie ein Rebzweig weggeworfen und verdorrt; man sucht sie dann zusammen, wirft sie ins Feuer und verbrennt sie.

If any one abide not in me, he shall be cast forth as a branch, and shall wither, and they shall gather him up, and case him into the fire, and be burneth.

7 Wenn ihr in mir bleibt und meine Worte in euch bleiben, so mögt ihr bitten, um was ihr wollt, es wird euch zuteil werden.

If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you will, and it shall be done unto you.

8 Dadurch wird mein Vater verherrlicht, daß ihr reiche Frucht bringt und meine Jünger werdet.

In this is my Father glorified; that you bring forth very much fruit, and become my disciples.

9 Wie mich der Vater geliebt hat, so habe auch ich euch geliebt. Bleibt in meiner Liebe!

As the Father hath loved me, I also have loved you.

10 Wenn ihr meine Gebote haltet, dann bleibt ihr in meiner Liebe, so wie auch ich die Gebote meines Vaters gehalten habe und in seiner Liebe bleibe.

If you keep my commandments, you shall abide in my love; as I also have kept my Father’s commandments, and do abide in his love.

11 Das habe ich zu euch gesagt, damit meine Freude in euch sei und eure Freude vollendet werde.

These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and your joy may be filled.

12 Das ist mein Gebot: Liebet einander, so wie ich euch geliebt habe.

This is my commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you.

13 Niemand hat eine größere Liebe, als wer sein Leben einsetzt für seine Freunde.

Greater love than this no man hath, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

14 Ihr seid meine Freunde, wenn ihr tut, was ich euch auftrage.

You are my friends, if you do the things that I command you.

15 Ich nenne euch nicht mehr Knechte; der Knecht weiß nicht, was sein Herr tut. Freunde habe ich euch genannt; denn ich habe euch alles geoffenbart, was ich von meinem Vater gehört habe.

I will not now call you servants: for the servant knoweth not what his lord doth. But I have called you friends: because all things whatsoever I have heard of my Father, I have made known to you.

16 Nicht ihr habt mich erwählt, sondern ich habe euch erwählt und euch bestellt, damit ihr hingeht und Frucht bringt und eure Frucht von Dauer sei, damit euch der Vater alles gebe, um was ihr ihn in meinem Namen bittet.

You have not chosen me: but I have chosen you; and have appointed you, that you should go, and should bring forth fruit; and your fruit should remain: that whatsoever you shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

17 Nur dies ist mein Gebot: Liebet einander!

These things I command you, that you love one another.

18 Wenn die Welt euch haßt, bedenket, daß sie mich vor euch gehaßt hat.

If the world hate you, know ye, that it hath hated me before you.

19 Ja, wäret ihr aus der Welt, so würde die Welt ihr Eigenes lieben. Da ihr aber nicht aus der Welt seid, vielmehr ich euch aus der Welt auserwählt habe, so haßt euch die Welt.

If you had been of the world, the world would love its own: but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

20 Denkt an das Wort, das ich zu euch gesprochen habe: Ein Knecht ist nicht höher als sein Herr. Wenn sie mich verfolgt haben, so werden sie auch euch verfolgen; und haben sie mein Wort bewahrt, so werden sie auch das eurige bewahren.

Remember my word that I said to you: The servant is not greater than his master. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you: if they have kept my word, they will keep yours also.

21 Doch all dies werden sie um meines Namens willen euch antun, weil sie den nicht kennen, der mich gesandt hat.

But all these things they will do to you for my name’s sake: because they know not him who sent me.

22 Wäre ich nicht gekommen und hätte nicht zu ihnen gesprochen, so hätten sie keine Sünde; nun aber haben sie für ihre Sünde keine Entschuldigung.

If I had not come, and spoken to them, they would not have sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

23 Wer mich haßt, haßt auch meinen Vater.

He that hateth me, hateth my Father also.

24 Hätte ich nicht Taten unter ihnen vollbracht, wie sie kein anderer vollbracht hat, dann hätten sie keine Sünde. Nun aber haben sie gesehen, und dennoch hassen sie mich und meinen Vater.

If I had not done among them the works that no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.

25 Aber das Wort, das in ihrem Gesetze steht, mußte in Erfüllung gehen: 'Sie haßten mich ganz ohne Grund.'

But that the word may be fulfilled which is written in their law: They hated me without cause.

26 Wenn dann der Beistand kommt, den ich euch vom Vater senden werde, der Geist der Wahrheit, der vom Vater ausgeht, so wird er Zeugnis über mich ablegen.

But when the Paraclete cometh, whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceedeth from the Father, he shall give testimony of me.

27 Auch ihr sollt Zeugnis ablegen, weil ihr von Anfang an bei mir seid,"

And you shall give testimony, because you are with me from the beginning.
