Matthew 17
1 After six days, Jesus took with him Peter, James, and John his brother, and brought them up into a high mountain by themselves.
Und sechs Tage nachher nimmt Jesus den Petrus und Jakobus und dessen Bruder Johannes mit, und führt sie beiseit auf einen hohen Berg.
2 He was changed before them. His face shone like the sun, and his garments became as white as the light.
Und er ward vor ihnen verwandelt, und sein Angesicht leuchtete wie die Sonne, seine Kleider aber wurden weiß wie das Licht.
3 Behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them talking with him.
Und siehe, es erschien ihnen Moses und Elias, die unterredeten sich mit ihm.
4 Peter answered and said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you want, let’s make three tents here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.”
Petrus aber hob an und sagte zu Jesus: Herr, hier ist für uns gut sein; wenn es dir recht ist, will ich hier drei Zelte aufschlagen, eines für dich, eines für Moses und eines für Elias.
5 While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them. Behold, a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Listen to him.”
Da er noch redete, siehe, da überschattete sie eine Lichtwolke, und siehe, eine Stimme aus der Wolke sprach: dies ist mein geliebter Sohn, an welchem ich Wohlgefallen gefunden; auf ihn höret!
6 When the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces, and were very afraid.
Und als es die Jünger hörten, fielen sie auf ihr Angesicht und fürchteten sich sehr.
7 Jesus came and touched them and said, “Get up, and don’t be afraid.”
Und Jesus trat hinzu und rührte sie an und sagte: stehet auf und fürchtet euch nicht.
8 Lifting up their eyes, they saw no one, except Jesus alone.
Als sie aber ihre Augen aufhoben, sahen sie niemand als Jesus allein.
9 As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, saying, “Don’t tell anyone what you saw, until the Son of Man has risen from the dead.”
Und da sie von dem Berge hinabstiegen, gebot ihnen Jesus, sie sollen niemand von dem Gesichte sagen, bis der Sohn des Menschen von den Toten auferweckt sei.
10 His disciples asked him, saying, “Then why do the scribes say that Elijah must come first?”
Und die Jünger fragten ihn: was sagen denn nun die Schriftgelehrten, Elias müsse zuerst kommen?
11 Jesus answered them, “Elijah indeed comes first, and will restore all things;
Er aber antwortete: Wohl kommt Elias und wird alles wieder zurecht bringen.
12 but I tell you that Elijah has come already, and they didn’t recognize him, but did to him whatever they wanted to. Even so the Son of Man will also suffer by them.”
Ich sage euch aber: Elias ist schon gekommen uns sie haben ihn nicht erkannt, sondern haben mit ihm gethan, was ihnen beliebte. So ist auch der Sohn des Menschen daran, von ihnen zu leiden.
13 Then the disciples understood that he spoke to them of John the Baptizer.
Hierauf verstanden die Jünger, daß er von Johannes dem Täufer zu ihnen sprach.
14 When they came to the multitude, a man came to him, kneeling down to him and saying,
Und als sie zu der Menge kamen, trat ein Mensch an ihn heran, warf sich vor ihm auf die Knie
15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and suffers grievously; for he often falls into the fire, and often into the water.
und sagte: Herr, erbarme dich meines Sohnes, er ist mondsüchtig und leidet schwer; denn oft fällt er ins Feuer, oft ins Wasser;
16 So I brought him to your disciples, and they could not cure him.”
und ich habe ihn zu deinen Jüngern gebracht, und sie vermochten ihn nicht zu heilen.
17 Jesus answered, “Faithless and perverse generation! How long will I be with you? How long will I bear with you? Bring him here to me.”
Jesus aber antwortete und sprach: o ungläubiges und verkehrtes Geschlecht, wie lange soll ich bei euch sein? wie lange soll ich es mit euch aushalten? Bringt mir ihn hieher.
18 Jesus rebuked the demon, and it went out of him, and the boy was cured from that hour.
Und Jesus bedrohte ihn, und der Dämon fuhr aus von ihm, und der Knabe ward geheilt von der Stunde an.
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately, and said, “Why weren’t we able to cast it out?”
Hierauf traten die Jünger zu Jesus beiseit und sagten: warum konnten wir ihn nicht austreiben?
20 He said to them, “Because of your unbelief. For most certainly I tell you, if you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you.
Er aber sagt zu ihnen: wegen eures Kleinglaubens; denn wahrlich, ich sage euch, wenn ihr Glauben habt wie ein Senfkorn, so werdet ihr zu diesem Berge sagen: rücke von hier weg dort hinüber, und er wird fortrücken; und nichts wird euch unmöglich sein.
21 But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Diese Art geht nicht aus, außer mit Beten und Fasten.
22 While they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is about to be delivered up into the hands of men,
Da sie aber in Galiläa zusammen verkehrten, sagte Jesus zu ihnen: es ist daran, daß der Sohn des Menschen in Menschenhände ausgeliefert wird,
23 and they will kill him, and the third day he will be raised up.” They were exceedingly sorry.
und sie werden ihn töten, und am dritten Tage wird er auferweckt werden. Und sie bekümmerten sich sehr.
24 When they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the didrachma coins came to Peter, and said, “Doesn’t your teacher pay the didrachma?”
Als sie aber nach Kapernaum kamen, traten die Einnehmer der Didrachmen zu Petrus und sagten: zahlt euer Meister die Didrachmen nicht?
25 He said, “Yes.” When he came into the house, Jesus anticipated him, saying, “What do you think, Simon? From whom do the kings of the earth receive toll or tribute? From their children, or from strangers?”
Er sagt: doch. Und als er ins Haus gieng, kam ihm Jesus zuvor und sagte: was dünkt dich, Simon? die Könige der Erde, von wem nehmen sie Zölle oder Steuer? von ihren Eigenen oder von den Fremden?
26 Peter said to him, “From strangers.” Jesus said to him, “Therefore the children are exempt.
Da er aber sagte: von den Fremden, sagte Jesus zu ihm: So sind also die Eigenen frei.
27 But, lest we cause them to stumble, go to the sea, cast a hook, and take up the first fish that comes up. When you have opened its mouth, you will find a stater coin. Take that, and give it to them for me and you.”
Damit wir ihnen aber keinen Anstoß geben, gehe hin an den See, wirf die Angel aus, und nimm den ersten Fisch, der heraufkommt, und wenn du seinen Mund aufmachst, wirst du einen Stater finden; den nimm und gieb ihnen denselben für mich und dich.
