Luke 20
1 On one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.
Y sucedió uno de esos días, cuando enseñaba a la gente en el Templo y predicaba las buenas nuevas,
2 They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”
Que los principales sacerdotes y los escribas y los principales del pueblo se le acercaron y le dijeron: Déjanos en claro por qué autoridad haces estas cosas y quién te dio esta autoridad.
3 He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:
Y respondiendo él les dijo: Les haré una pregunta, y ¿me responden?
4 the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”
El bautismo de Juan, ¿era del cielo o de los hombres?
5 They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
Y dijeron entre sí: Si decimos: Del cielo; él dirá: ¿Por qué no tienes fe en él?
6 But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
Pero si decimos: De los hombres; el pueblo nos apedreará, porque están seguros de que Juan fue un profeta.
7 They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.
Y respondieron que no tenían idea de dónde venía.
8 Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
Y Jesús dijo: Y yo tampoco les digo con qué autoridad hago estas cosas.
9 He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.
Y le dio a la gente esta historia: un hombre hizo un huerto de viñedos y lo rento a algunos de los trabajadores del campo y se fue a otro país durante mucho tiempo.
10 At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty.
Y en el momento correcto, envió un sirviente a los trabajadores para obtener parte del fruto de las viñas; pero los trabajadores le dieron golpes y lo enviaron sin nada.
11 He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
Y envió otro siervo, y le dieron golpes del mismo modo, y le avergonzaron, y le enviaron sin nada.
12 He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him and threw him out.
Y envió un tercero, y le hirieron y lo echaron fuera.
13 The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’
Y el señor de la viña dijo: ¿Qué he de hacer? Enviaré a mi querido hijo; ellos pueden darle respeto a él.
14 “But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’
Pero cuando los obreros lo vieron, se dijeron unos a otros: Este es el que algún día será el dueño de la propiedad; vamos a matarlo y la herencia será nuestra.
15 Then they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
Y echándolo fuera de la viña lo mataron. Ahora, ¿qué le hará el señor a estos obreros?
16 He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard that, they said, “May that never be!”
Él vendrá y los destruirá y dará la viña a otros. Y cuando dijo esto, dijeron: “No sea así, Dios nos libre”.
17 But he looked at them and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the chief cornerstone’?
Pero él, mirándolos, dijo: ¿No está escrito en las Escrituras? La piedra que los constructores rechazaron, ¿la misma se ha convertido en la principal piedra del edificio?
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”
Todos los que caigan sobre la piedra serán quebrantados, pero el hombre en quien la piedra caiga sera echo polvo.
19 The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.
Y los principales sacerdotes y los escribas intentaron ponerle las manos encima en esa misma hora; y tenían miedo de la gente, porque vieron que él había dicho esta historia contra ellos.
20 They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
Y lo vigilaron, y enviaron representantes secretos, que actuaban como parte de hombres buenos, para que pudieran obtener algo de sus palabras y hacerlo caer en una trampa, y así tener pretexto o causa para entregarlo al poder y autoridad del gobierno.
21 They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.
Y le hicieron una pregunta, diciendo: Maestro, estamos seguros de que tu enseñanza y tus palabras son correctas, y que no respetas la posición de un hombre, sino que estás enseñando el verdadero camino de Dios:
22 Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
¿Es correcto? para nosotros hacer el pago de impuestos a César o no?
23 But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?
Pero él vio a través de su truco y les dijo, porque me tientan?
24 Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”
Déjame ver un centavo. ¿De quién es la imagen y el nombre? Y ellos dijeron: de César.
25 He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
Y él dijo: Da al César lo que es de César, y a Dios lo que es de Dios.
26 They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.
Y no pudieron sacar nada de estas palabras delante del pueblo; pero estaban maravillados de su respuesta, y no dijeron nada.
27 Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
Y algunos de los saduceos vinieron a él, los cuales dicen que no hay resurrección; y le dijeron,
28 They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
Maestro, Moisés dijo que si el hermano de un hombre llega a su fin, teniendo una esposa, pero no hijos, su hermano debe tomar la esposa, y obtener una familia para su hermano.
29 There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
Ahora bien, había siete hermanos, y el primero tenía una esposa y llegó a su fin, sin tener hijos;
30 The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
Y el segundo;
31 The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
Y el tercero la tomó; y de la misma manera, los siete, sin tener hijos, llegaron a su fin.
32 Afterward the woman also died.
Y por último, la mujer llegó a su fin.
33 Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
Cuando vuelvan de entre los muertos, ¿de quién será ella? porque los siete la tenían a ella.
Y Jesús les dijo: Los hijos de este mundo se han casado y tienen esposo o esposa; (aiōn g165)
35 But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. (aiōn g165)
Pero aquellos a quienes se les da la recompensa del mundo venidero, y que vuelven de los muertos, no tienen esposas o esposos, ni se darán en casamiento; (aiōn g165)
36 For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
Y la muerte no tiene más poder sobre ellos, porque son iguales a los ángeles, y son hijos de Dios, siendo los hijos de resurrección.
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
Pero incluso Moisés dejó en claro que los muertos vuelven a la vida, diciendo, en la historia de la zarza que ardía: El Señor, el Dios de Abraham, el Dios de Isaac y el Dios de Jacob.
38 Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”
Ahora bien, él no es el Dios de los muertos, sino de los vivos, porque para Dios todos los hombres viven.
39 Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”
Y algunos de los escribas, respondiendo a esto, dijeron: Maestro, tú has dicho bien.
40 They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.
Y tenían miedo de hacerle más preguntas.
41 He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?
Y él les dijo: ¿Por qué dicen que el Cristo es el hijo de David?
42 David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
Porque David mismo dice en el libro de los Salmos: Dijo el Señor a mi Señor: Toma asiento a mi diestra,
43 until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
hasta que yo ponga como estrado de tus pies a todos tus enemigos.
44 “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
David entonces le da el nombre de Señor, entonces ¿cómo es posible que él sea su hijo?
45 In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,
Y a oídos de todo el pueblo, dijo a sus discípulos:
46 “Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
Apartaos de los escribas, cuya complacencia es andar con túnicas largas, y que les digan palabras de respeto en los mercados, y toma los asientos principales en las sinagogas y los primeros lugares en las fiestas;
47 who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
Quienes toman la propiedad de las viudas y ante los ojos de los hombres hacen largas oraciones; recibirán un castigo mayor.
