< Ezekiel 24 >

1 Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
Afe a ɛto so akron no sram a ɛto so du no nnafua du so no, Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
2 “Son of man, write the name of the day, this same day. The king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.
“Onipa ba, kyerɛw saa da yi, saa da yi ara, efisɛ Babiloniahene atua Yerusalem nnɛ da yi ara.
3 Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says, “Put the cauldron on the fire. Put it on, and also pour water into it.
Ka kyerɛ saa atuatewfo yi, ka no wɔ mmebu mu kyerɛ wɔn se: ‘Sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: “‘Fa ɔsɛn no si gya so; fa si so na hwie nsu gu mu.
4 Gather its pieces into it, even every good piece: the thigh and the shoulder. Fill it with the choice bones.
Fa namkum no gu mu, namkum a ɛyɛ akɔnnɔ no nyinaa, anan ne abasa. Fa nnompe a ɛte apɔw hyɛ no ma;
5 Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the cauldron. Make it boil well. Yes, let its bones be boiled within it.”
fa nguankuw no mu nea odi mu. Fa nnyentia hyehyɛ ase ma nnompe no; ma enhuru na noa nnompe a ɛwɔ mu no.
6 “‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city, to the cauldron whose rust is in it, and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it! Take out of it piece after piece without casting lots for it.
“‘Na sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: “‘Mogyahwiegu kuropɔn no nnue, nnome nka ɔsɛn a agye nkannare mprempren, na nea ɛwɔ mu aka mu no! Yiyi namkum no mmaako mmaako fi mu a wompaw mu koraa.
7 “‘“For the blood she shed is in the middle of her. She set it on the bare rock. She didn’t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.
“‘Mogya a ohwie guu no wɔ ne mfimfini: ohwie guu ɔbotan wosee so; wanhwie angu fam, baabi a mfutuma bɛkata so.
8 That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.”
Sɛ ɛbɛhwanyan abufuwhyew ama aweretɔ nti mede ne mogya guu ɔbotan wosee so sɛnea ɛso renkata.
9 “‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: “Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.
“‘Enti sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: “‘Mogyahwiegu kuropɔn no nnue! Me nso mɛhyehyɛ nnyansin no ama akɔ sorosoro.
10 Heap on the wood. Make the fire hot. Boil the meat well. Make the broth thick, and let the bones be burned.
Enti hyehyɛ nnyansin no na sɔ gya no. Noa nam no yiye, fa ahuamhuanne fra mu; na ma nnompe no nhyew.
11 Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its bronze may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.
Afei fa ɔsɛnhunu no si nnyansramma no so kosi sɛ ɛbɛdɔ na ayɛ kɔɔ sɛnea mu fi no bɛnan na nea ɛwɔ mu no bɛhyew asɛe.
12 She is weary with toil; yet her great rust, rust by fire, doesn’t leave her.
Wama ɔbrɛ no nyinaa ayɛ kwa; mu fi dodow no ankɔ, ogya mpo antumi anyi.
13 “‘“In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you won’t be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.
“‘Fi a ɛwɔ wo mu no ne aniwu nneyɛe. Mebɔɔ mmɔden sɛ mɛhohoro wo ho, nanso woamma ho kwan, wo ho remfi bio kosi sɛ mʼabufuwhyew a etia wo no ano bedwo.
14 “‘“I, Yahweh, have spoken it. It will happen, and I will do it. I won’t go back. I won’t spare. I won’t repent. According to your ways and according to your doings, they will judge you,” says the Lord Yahweh.’”
“‘Me Awurade na maka. Bere aso sɛ meyɛ biribi. Merentwentwɛn so; merennya ahummɔbɔ, na merengugow me ho. Wobegyina wo suban ne wo nneyɛe so abu wo atɛn, Otumfo Awurade asɛm ni.’”
15 Also Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
16 “Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.
“Onipa ba, merebɛbɔ wo baako na mafa ade a wʼani gye ho yiye. Nanso ntwa adwo, nni awerɛhow na ntew nusu.
17 Sigh, but not aloud. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind your headdress on you, and put your sandals on your feet. Don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat mourner’s bread.”
Si apini komm; nni owufo ho awerɛhow. Ma wʼabotiri mmɔ wo na hyɛ wo mpaboa; nkata wʼano na nni amanne aduan a wɔn a wodi awerɛhow no di.”
18 So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. So I did in the morning as I was commanded.
Enti mekasa kyerɛɛ nnipa no anɔpa na nʼanwummere na me yere wui. Ade kyee no, meyɛɛ sɛnea wɔahyɛ me no.
19 The people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things mean to us, that you act like this?”
Afei nnipa no bisaa me se, “Worenkyerɛ yɛn sɛnea nneyɛe yi si fa yɛn ho ana?”
20 Then I said to them, “Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,
Enti meka kyerɛɛ wɔn se, “Awurade asɛm baa me nkyɛn se:
21 ‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword.
Ka kyerɛ Israelfi se: ‘Sɛɛ na Otumfo Awurade se: Merebegu me kronkronbea ho fi; mo bammɔ dennen a mode hoahoa mo ho, nea mo ani gye ho, ade a mo koma da so. Mmabarima ne mmabea a mugyaw wɔn akyi no bɛtotɔ wɔ afoa ano.
22 You will do as I have done. You won’t cover your lips or eat mourner’s bread.
Na mobɛyɛ sɛnea mayɛ yi, morenkata mo ano na morenni amanne aduan a wɔn a wodi awerɛhow di.
23 Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You won’t mourn or weep; but you will pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.
Mobɛkɔ so abɔ mo abotiri ahyɛ mo mpaboa. Morenni awerɛhow na morensu, mmom mo so bɛtew esiane mo bɔne nti, na mubesisi apini wɔ mo mu.
24 Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.’”’”
Hesekiel bɛyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnnede ama mo, mobɛyɛ sɛnea wayɛ no pɛpɛɛpɛ. Na eyi si a na mubehu sɛ mene Otumfo Awurade no.’
25 “You, son of man, shouldn’t it be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart—their sons and their daughters—
“Na wo, onipa ba, da a mɛfa wɔn aban dennen, wɔn ahosɛpɛw ne anuonyam, ade a wɔn ani gye ho, wɔn koma so ade, ne wɔn mmabarima ne wɔn mmabea nso no,
26 that in that day he who escapes will come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?
saa da no okyinkyinfo bi na ɔbɛba abɛka nea asi akyerɛ wo.
27 In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you will speak and be no more mute. So you will be a sign to them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”
Saa bere no, wʼano bebue, wo ne no bɛkasa na worenyɛ komm bio. Wobɛyɛ nsɛnkyerɛnnede ama wɔn, na wobehu sɛ mene Awurade no.”
