Ephesians 4
1 I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called,
Ruégoos pues, yo preso en el Señor, que andéis como es digno de la vocación con que sois llamados, es a saber,
2 with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Con toda humildad y mansedumbre, con paciencia soportando los unos a los otros en amor,
3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Solícitos a guardar la unidad del Espíritu en el vínculo de la paz.
4 There is one body and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling,
Hay un cuerpo, y un Espíritu; así como sois también llamados en una misma esperanza de vuestra vocación.
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Un Señor, una fe, un bautismo,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in us all.
Un Dios y Padre de todos, el cual es sobre todas las cosas, y por en medio de todas las cosas, y en todos vosotros.
7 But to each one of us, the grace was given according to the measure of the gift of Christ.
Empero a cada uno de nosotros es dada gracia conforme a la medida del don de Cristo.
8 Therefore he says, “When he ascended on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts to people.”
Por lo cual dice: Subiendo a lo alto llevó cautiva la cautividad; y dio dones a los hombres.
9 Now this, “He ascended”, what is it but that he also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
Y el que subió, ¿qué es, sino que también había descendido primero a las partes inferiores de la tierra?
10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.
El que descendió, el mismo es el que también subió sobre todos los cielos, para llenar todas las cosas.
11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;
Y él mismo dio unos, por apóstoles; y otros, por profetas; y otros, por evangelistas; y otros, por pastores, y doctores,
12 for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ,
Para el perfeccionamiento de los santos, para la obra del ministerio, para la edificación del cuerpo de Cristo:
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ,
Hasta que todos lleguemos en la unidad de la fe, y del conocimiento del Hijo de Dios, al estado de un varón perfecto, a la medida de la estatura de la plenitud de Cristo:
14 that we may no longer be children, tossed back and forth and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in craftiness, after the wiles of error;
Que ya no seamos niños, inconstantes y llevados en derredor por todo viento de doctrina, con artificio de los hombres, que engañan con astucia de error.
15 but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him who is the head, Christ,
Antes siguiendo la verdad con amor, crezcamos en todo en el que es la cabeza, a saber, Cristo,
16 from whom all the body, being fitted and knit together through that which every joint supplies, according to the working in measure of each individual part, makes the body increase to the building up of itself in love.
Del cual todo el cuerpo bien compacto y ligado por lo que cada coyuntura suple, conforme a la operación eficaz en la medida de cada miembro, hace el aumento del cuerpo para la edificación del mismo en amor.
17 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles also walk, in the futility of their mind,
Así que esto digo, y requiero por el Señor, que no andéis más como los otros Gentiles, que andan en la vanidad de su mente,
18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the hardening of their hearts.
Teniendo el entendimiento entenebrecido, ajenos de vida de Dios por la ignorancia que en ellos hay, por la dureza de su corazón:
19 They, having become callous, gave themselves up to lust, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
Los cuales perdido ya todo sentimiento justo, se han entregado a la desvergüenza para cometer toda inmundicia, con ansia.
20 But you didn’t learn Christ that way,
Mas vosotros no habéis aprendido así a Cristo.
21 if indeed you heard him and were taught in him, even as truth is in Jesus:
Si empero le habéis oído, y habéis sido por él enseñados, como la verdad es en Jesús,
22 that you put away, as concerning your former way of life, the old man that grows corrupt after the lusts of deceit,
A despojaros del hombre viejo, en cuanto a la pasada manera de vivir, el cual es corrompido conforme a los deseos engañosos;
23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind,
Y a renovaros en el espíritu de vuestro entendimiento,
24 and put on the new man, who in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
Y vestiros del hombre nuevo, que es creado conforme a Dios en justicia, y en santidad verdadera.
25 Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
Por lo cual, dejando la mentira, hablád verdad cada uno con su prójimo; porque somos miembros los unos de los otros.
26 “Be angry, and don’t sin.” Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath,
Airáos, y no pequéis: no se ponga el sol sobre vuestro enojo;
27 and don’t give place to the devil.
Ni deis lugar al diablo.
28 Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, producing with his hands something that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need.
El que hurtaba, no hurte más; antes trabaje, obrando con sus manos lo que es bueno, para que tenga de qué dar al que padeciere necesidad.
29 Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Ninguna palabra podrida salga de vuestra boca; sino antes la que es buena, para edificación, para que dé gracia a los oyentes.
30 Don’t grieve the Holy Spirit of God, in whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Y no contristéis al Espíritu Santo de Dios, por el cual estáis sellados para el día de la redención.
31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice.
Toda amargura, y enojo, e ira, y gritería, y maledicencia sea quitada de entre vosotros, y toda malicia.
32 And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
Mas sed los unos con los otros benignos, compasivos, perdonándoos los unos a los otros, como también Dios os perdonó en Cristo.
