1 Corinthians 9
1 Am I not free? Am I not an apostle? Haven’t I seen Jesus Christ, our Lord? Aren’t you my work in the Lord?
Bin ich nicht frei? Bin ich nicht ein Apostel? Habe ich nicht Jesus Christus, unseren Herrn, gesehen? Seid ihr nicht mein Werk im Herrn?
2 If to others I am not an apostle, yet at least I am to you; for you are the seal of my apostleship in the Lord.
Bin ich anderen nicht Apostel, so bin ich es doch euch; denn das Siegel meines Apostelamtes seid ihr in dem Herrn.
3 My defense to those who examine me is this:
Solches ist meine Verantwortung gegen die, so mich richten.
4 Have we no right to eat and to drink?
Haben wir nicht die Freiheit, zu essen und zu trinken?
5 Have we no right to take along a wife who is a believer, even as the rest of the apostles, and the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas?
Haben wir nicht auch das Recht, eine Schwester als Weib mit umher zu führen, wie auch die anderen Apostel und die Brüder des Herrn und Kephas tun?
6 Or have only Barnabas and I no right to not work?
Oder haben wir, ich und Barnabas, allein nicht das Recht, nicht zu arbeiten?
7 What soldier ever serves at his own expense? Who plants a vineyard, and doesn’t eat of its fruit? Or who feeds a flock, and doesn’t drink from the flock’s milk?
Wer zieht ins Feld mit eigener Beköstigung? Wer pflanzt einen Weinberg und ißt nicht von seiner Frucht? Oder wer hütet nicht eine Herde und genießt nicht von der Milch der Herde?
8 Do I speak these things according to the ways of men? Or doesn’t the law also say the same thing?
Sage ich dies nur nach Menschenweise, oder sagt es nicht auch das Gesetz?
9 For it is written in the law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.” Is it for the oxen that God cares,
In Moses Gesetz steht geschrieben: Du sollst dem Ochsen, der da drischt, nicht das Maul verbinden. Sorget Gott für die Ochsen?
10 or does he say it assuredly for our sake? Yes, it was written for our sake, because he who plows ought to plow in hope, and he who threshes in hope should partake of his hope.
Oder sagt er es vielmehr um unsertwillen? Von uns ja steht geschrieben, daß, der da pflügt, soll auf Hoffnung pflügen, und der da drischt,
11 If we sowed to you spiritual things, is it a great thing if we reap your fleshly things?
Wenn wir für euch das Geistige gesät haben, ist es da etwas Großes, wenn wir von euch euer Leibliches ernten.
12 If others partake of this right over you, don’t we yet more? Nevertheless we didn’t use this right, but we bear all things, that we may cause no hindrance to the Good News of Christ.
Wenn andere dieses Recht bei euch genießen, warum nicht vielmehr wir? Aber wir haben solches Recht nicht angesprochen, sondern halten alles aus, auf daß wir dem Evangelium Christi kein Hindernis bereiten.
13 Don’t you know that those who serve around sacred things eat from the things of the temple, and those who wait on the altar have their portion with the altar?
Wisset ihr nicht, daß die, so für das Heiligtum arbeiten, vom Tempel gespeist werden? die so des Altars warten, ihren Anteil am Altaropfer haben?
14 Even so the Lord ordained that those who proclaim the Good News should live from the Good News.
Also hat auch der Herr verordnet, daß die, so das Evangelium verkündigen, vom Evangelium leben sollen.
15 But I have used none of these things, and I don’t write these things that it may be done so in my case; for I would rather die, than that anyone should make my boasting void.
Ich aber habe deren nichts angesprochen, ich schreibe das nicht, daß es mit mir also gehalten werden sollte, denn es wäre mir lieber, ich stürbe, als daß mir einer meinen Ruhm zunichte machte.
16 For if I preach the Good News, I have nothing to boast about, for necessity is laid on me; but woe is to me if I don’t preach the Good News.
Denn wenn ich das Evangelium predige, habe ich keinen Ruhm, denn ich muß so tun; denn wehe mir, wenn ich es nicht sollte predigen!
17 For if I do this of my own will, I have a reward. But if not of my own will, I have a stewardship entrusted to me.
Tue ich es gerne, so habe ich Lohn; tue ich es ungern, so bin ich doch mit dem Haushalteramte betraut.
18 What then is my reward? That when I preach the Good News, I may present the Good News of Christ without charge, so as not to abuse my authority in the Good News.
Was ist denn nun mein Lohn? Daß ich das Evangelium predige und das Evangelium von Christus unentgeltlich gebe, so daß ich bei Verkündigung des Evangeliums nicht mein Recht anspreche.
19 For though I was free from all, I brought myself under bondage to all, that I might gain the more.
Denn obgleich ich frei bin von allen, habe ich mich allen zum Knechte gemacht, auf daß ich desto mehrere gewinne;
20 To the Jews I became as a Jew, that I might gain Jews; to those who are under the law, as under the law, that I might gain those who are under the law;
Und bin den Juden geworden wie ein Jude, auf daß ich Juden gewönne; denen, die unter dem Gesetz stehen, wie einer, der unter dem Gesetz steht,
21 to those who are without law, as without law (not being without law toward God, but under law toward Christ), that I might win those who are without law.
Den nicht unter dem Gesetz Stehenden bin ich gesetzlos geworden
22 To the weak I became as weak, that I might gain the weak. I have become all things to all men, that I may by all means save some.
Den Schwachen bin ich geworden wie ein Schwacher, auf daß ich die Schwachen gewönne; ich bin allen alles geworden, auf daß ich irgendwie welche errettete.
23 Now I do this for the sake of the Good News, that I may be a joint partaker of it.
Solches tue ich um des Evangeliums willen, um ein Mitteilhaber an demselben zu werden.
24 Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, so that you may win.
Wisset ihr nicht, daß die, so auf der Rennbahn laufen, zwar alle laufen, einer aber den Preis erhält? So laufet denn so, daß ihr ihn erhaltet.
25 Every man who strives in the games exercises self-control in all things. Now they do it to receive a corruptible crown, but we an incorruptible.
Jedem Wettkämpfer ist Enthaltsamkeit vonnöten. Diese tun es, auf daß sie einen vergänglichen Siegeskranz erlangen, wir aber einen unvergänglichen.
26 I therefore run like that, not aimlessly. I fight like that, not beating the air,
Ich laufe denn nicht ins Ungewisse, und kämpfe so, indem ich nicht in die Luft schlage.
27 but I beat my body and bring it into submission, lest by any means, after I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified.
Sondern ich zerschlage mir den Leib und führe ihn gefangen, auf daß ich, indem ich anderen predige, nicht selbst verwerflich werde.
